Tangy zizzle 09-06-2005 03:02 AM

My mum saaid a similar thing about Murder City Devils, but she just commented on the name and said "I'm worried about that, it sounds evil", then I played them to her and she said it sounded like an angry Doors.

br3ad_man 09-06-2005 03:23 AM

My mum hates screaming or yelling but for some reason she can deal with growling. She also once said that "Them Bones" by Alice In Chains sounded like The Beatles.

Tangy zizzle 09-06-2005 03:32 AM

Heh. Mums aye, wonderful creatures.

br3ad_man 09-06-2005 04:50 AM

Indeed. Right now she is watching CSI, which she doesn't like.

I don't get it either.
Last day of summer for me as well.

On a slightly unrelated note:

Is Iron & Wine's show as great as I imagine it?
Nah, not really. It's better.

Oh, I'm going to watch a show I don't like, just to slightly torture myself.

I can actually sympathise with that. I don't like CSI, and yet I watch it pretty much every week.

So as of today, I can drink in Canada. Happy Birthday to me. (cannot afford the gas to drive to Canada)

dkmaddog 09-06-2005 09:54 AM

Thanks. I am trying to decide if I am going to blow off work today. I think I deserve a day off.

Glitterati 09-06-2005 09:58 AM

Birthdays should merit a day off work/school.

/knows that would never work

Happymeal 09-06-2005 11:44 AM

^Happy Birthday dkmaddog

w00t first day. It was good besides the fact that my schedule blows

My schedule is weird. I have zero period, but I leave a period early. :/

Happymeal 09-06-2005 12:57 PM

I have a spare first period. Everyone seems to think it's the bomb, but I'd rather have it next semester.

Kyle 09-06-2005 01:17 PM

I have no afterschool periods this year which is a bonus. But last year I only had one lesson on friday morning then had the day off....don't get that anymore.

JonM 09-06-2005 02:01 PM

If anybody has any advice about how to sleep at college, I'd appreciate it.

You don't. Sleep while you're out of class.

Good to know. Now can you tell me where I can score some speed to make up for it?

Luxor 09-06-2005 02:28 PM

Had my first class of college today... Yay for accounting!

You don't need speed. Just have about a pot of black coffee.

Are you a freshman or something?

Hooray for almost being done with 8 weeks of work in about 1-2.

Zappa 09-06-2005 02:54 PM

People make the most cryptic posts in this thread, hoping that someone will be interested enough to quote it and ask for more information. It's silly.

Zmev 09-06-2005 02:55 PM

I'd make the joke of quoting yours but...naaaah.

sweboy 09-06-2005 02:56 PM

So it turns out the beaver wasn't pregnant after all.

Tell me more!

sweboy 09-06-2005 03:11 PM
Tell me more!
Meh, I guess I could. [insert extremely well planned, well organized and well written story here, copied and pasted from Word document that I wrote directly after submitting the original post, and that I've been polishing and improving constantly ever since] And that's pretty much how it went down.

Happymeal 09-06-2005 03:13 PM

/thread, indeed.

Sweboy, that's quite possibly the greatest piece of literature I've ever read.
