Yeah, they don't really change it at all.

It's good.
How do those phrases go together?

Against Miik! 02-04-2005 04:11 PM

They don't change the song that much. It's a good cover. wtf

lunch998 02-04-2005 04:12 PM

Well if the original version was good, and the band didn't change it in the cover, then it's probably still good. Not original, but good.
I just found an old CD: Old And In The Way - Breakdown, and it is quite good, but I don't know anything behind it. It's Bluegrass for sure and it has Jerry Garcia on Banjo (Gee golly, he's good). Has anyone else heard/liked this album?
Old & In the Way's Breakdown: Live Recordings is a fantastic album. Almost as good as self titled. As for the band, they are surely one of the most talented Bluegrass bands ever. Let's break um on down.

Jerry Garcia - Though he felt bad that his banjo chops didn't compare to each other musician's skills, they did. Even though guitar is his main instrument, he throws down some blazing fast rolls and lines.

Peter Rowan - Rowan isn't that great of a a guitarist, but he makes up for that loss vocally. His voice is always in tune and in key.

Vassar Clements - Definitley one of the great violinist/fiddle players ever. His playing is always amazing, throughout every album Old & In the Way made.

John Kahn - Friend of Jerry and very talented acoustic bassist. He doesn't always show all of the skill, but he none the less has it and never disapoints.

David Grisman - All of you know him. Grisman's playing kind of matches Garcia's Bluegrass wise. Alway consistent and technically fantastic.

Great, great band.

If they don't put their own spin on it, what's the point of covering it?

Sounds boring.

BludgeonySteve 02-04-2005 05:14 PM

Supertramp is awesome. Would anyone consider them prog?

BlackDeathMetalJazz or really ANYTHING else please- 02-04-2005 05:25 PM

Never herad Supertramp I mean I hear great things and then very bad things.

How do you get long user titles?...for some rep (i am miik)

BludgeonySteve 02-04-2005 05:31 PM

Some people don't like them because they were extremely popular. I personally love them no matter what.

unclebobscircus 02-04-2005 05:33 PM

I don't like Supertramp, they're too poppy for my tastes.

BludgeonySteve 02-04-2005 05:35 PM

Poppy as in popular! mwahahahaha.

:upset: guess not.

Against Miik! 02-04-2005 05:36 PM

Best southern rock song is I know a little by lynyrd skynryd. Just thought i'd throw that in.

lunch998 02-04-2005 05:38 PM

I'm not a big fan of Supertramp.

BludgeonySteve 02-04-2005 05:38 PM

So does that mean that you're an occasional fan or a small fan of them? Or like a few songs?

unclebobscircus 02-04-2005 05:39 PM
Best southern rock song is I know a little by lynyrd skynryd. Just thought i'd throw that in.
Which do people prefer - Skynyrd or the Allman Bros. Band?

I prefer ABB because they're a bit more of a jam band.

lunch998 02-04-2005 05:39 PM
You guys are all so hit or miss. It makes me sad.
I didn't say I hate them. I somewhat like them, but I don't love them.

I think the Allmans are miles ahead of Skynyrd. I'm pretty sure Miik is a big ABB fan.

Overall, ABB. But Skynryds songs just have such a great beat. I mostly like the more upbeat ones like "I know A little" and "THey call me the breeze".

BludgeonySteve 02-04-2005 05:41 PM

Gotcha. I just ninja edited exept I fayl'd :(

edit: to 3 posts up the page ^that way.

I didn't think he was taking them until like tonight or tommorow night.

Badmoon 02-04-2005 06:39 PM

Okay, the shrooms may go down this saturday. About a week ago (When I was suppose to have them) the stupid dealer didn't get them, even though we requested six days in ahead. But I did manage to smoke a bunch of weed.

So, hopefully it'll go down this weekend.

I just bought....

The Byrds - Younger than Yesterday
