i thought you had far better things to do?
I considered it worthwhile to reply when he gave a decent post. I mean, fucking hell, how weak Eliminator.
I knew you were being sarcastic, and I really wasn't talking to you.

I see metal as an artform that communicates a belief. Thus it's important what the metal communicates. If you don't see music as art I think you're just treating metal as an entertainment form, not as something deeply meaningful. I think it's important that Christan bands are rejected because then it keeps the meaning of metal strong. In a community that rejects Christianity explicitly why tolerate something that will drag the music's meaning down?
I think the meaning of each song is important, but the meaning of metal in general isn't anything in particular, is just a form of expression. The meaning of metal is not affected by Christian bands being rejected, that's retarded. It isn't dragging the music's meaning down, its just that particular band has a different meaning than another band.

ill agree with solitary, take underoath for example; define the great line is a huge rip-off of transilvanian hunger in every aspect.

I haven't heard Transilvanian Hunger, so I didn't know about that. I certainly don't respect people ripping off other bands.

Usually the lack of any capitalization signals sarcasm of the highest degree.

Dimmu Burger 04-18-2008 04:06 PM

Do you think metal is an anti christian genre?

The Chemist 04-18-2008 04:24 PM

Ok, so I'm really into Nile and Cephalic Carnage. Any other good bands amongst the same grains?

ZapatoDiablo 04-18-2008 04:34 PM

You'd probably like Vital Remains - Dechristianize

The Chemist 04-18-2008 04:35 PM

:)

I like.

RetiredAt21 04-18-2008 05:08 PM

Cephalic Carnage is kinda boring as ****.

Txus 04-18-2008 05:10 PM

You're out of your mind.

RetiredAt21 04-18-2008 05:11 PM

It's cool they write songs about weed and stuff, but I just can't get into them. They do have one REALLY good song, though. I think it's called Exhumed Remains or something. It's mad good.

Dimmu Burger 04-18-2008 05:12 PM

I don't care what he is talking about, the music is good.

RetiredAt21 04-18-2008 05:13 PM

Do you guys know the song I'm talking about?

Txus 04-18-2008 05:17 PM

I know that song, it's good but not that good. They have much better tunes.

and yeah, i dont give a **** if they talk about shitting inside their mom, the music is damn good.

RetiredAt21 04-18-2008 05:19 PM

Don't they have a doom song or something? Is it good? Should I download it?

Dimmu Burger 04-18-2008 05:19 PM
Don't they have a doom song or something? Is it good? Should I download it?
I think they have an ep that is like a 30+ minute doom song.

masscows 04-18-2008 05:27 PM

Yeah, Halls of Amenti or something

Txus 04-18-2008 05:49 PM

It's not that good.

Dimmu Burger 04-18-2008 06:11 PM
It's not that good.
I still need to download it. Anybody got a link?

Obsequies 04-18-2008 07:41 PM

LOL. I was talking about the Website.

rasputin 04-18-2008 09:31 PM

So yeah I'm finally awake and listening to Morbid Angel - Altars of Madness. What's going down in death metal town.
ps. i read the last few pages, total lulz
LOL. I was talking about the Website.
I can't get over how ridiculous that site is.
Riffs and their structural permutations lay out the basic virus for a song, augmented with sweeping keyboards and stampeding drumbeats, guided by the facile voice that runs through a vaudeville catalog of caricature charades.
Vale of Pnath - Melodic/Tech Death (if you like Arsis you might like them)

Yeah, the reviews border on self-parody sometimes. And Prozak has some slightly unconventional taste. Most of the stuff he listens to is really good, but occasionally he'll praise a shitty band/album.

rasputin 04-18-2008 09:40 PM

It's taken way too seriously though
