It's Kevin 'Caveman' Shirley :p
I believe we were also told that it will kick our collective asses. But that may just be me talking.
/made the list :)
so yeh, all you maidenite spamwhores, what's up today? i'm listening to FOTD for the first time in a while all the way through, normally i just get odd songs off it on my mp3 player. is Behind The Iron Curtain a B-side?
behind the iron curtain is a 30 minute video of the band 'behind the iron curtain' of russia (first band to do so i believe), alot of it is just them talking with fans and then you get 5 songs (or is it 3?) of them playing in one of moscows arenas. This was all on the wwolrd savery tour btw. heres a maiden fan link: http://www.maidenfans.com/imc/?url=video03_ironcurtain/video03_ironcurtain&lang=eng&link=videos and for the record S/T=Killers>NoTB |
That's not far away, really. I hope it's more Brave New World and less Dance Of Death. Both are good, but I think the former more parallels their '80s work.
BNW and DOD have never really stood out to me. The just seem to lack something IMO.
BNW is the greatest album ever made by anyone, anywhere IMO.
BNW is the best maiden album they've yet released. i mean, it has Ghost of the Navigator, Brave New World, Dream of Mirrors, Out of the Silent Planet, Blood Brothers....those tracks are my favourites, but the others are still great, although IMO The Nomad drags on a bit.
Agree with you 100%, Josh.
The Nomad does drag, but it's still awesome. I love the cheesiness of the line "Legend has it that you speak an ancient tongue/ But no one's spoke to you and lived to tell the tale." I was disappointed not to hear more the 2nd half of the album on RiR: The Fallen Angel and OotSP specifically. NP - Rhapsody, Lord Of The Thunder |
I think DoD is one of my favorite maiden albums (if not my favorite), but BNW comes in at a very close second. But both are brilliant albums anyway.
BNW is probably my favorite, then DoD..Then SSOASS?
i have officially decided that BNW now has 2nd place, and Somewhere in Time has the top spot now :p
as there's no songs on SiT that i think are average, whereas i do think that about The Nomad on BNW :p |
 Nomads ace

I agree with this guy. |
I don't entirely agree with Frank. I didn't really like Gates Of Tomorrow ever, except for the first guitar solo (which is cool: the first note sounds like someone treading on a cat :D ) and New Frontier, despite its catchy chorus has boring verses and lyrics that are way off the mark.
Same with me. Two of the weakest tracks I've heard from the mighty Maiden.
^ i agree with the GoT comment but, BNW drags on a bit IMO, where as DoD get rights to the point and keeps you interested throughout. But like i said before i <3 both those albums dearly
Iron Maiden. What can I say about these guys that hasn't been said before. Basicaly a phenomonal metal band that consistently puts out good albums and a band who's intensity never seems to fade. By far the best live band i've ever witnessed, and i've witnessed many. Signature sound, excellent musicianship, all around great band.
P.S- I even like the Blaze stuff. Killers is my favorite maiden album but I think Piece of mind best represents them. Up the irons- forever and ever.. |

I saw that a while back on Amazon, Pre-order stuff.
Looks excellent, it's the Scream for me Brazil setlist in the middle, right? |
