Nah, she was just asking him if he had anything in common with the other acts at Donnington in 1988 or whatever. He said Maiden are nice guys but they're not a real rock n' roll band.
Oh I see. I have to disagree about what he said about them not being a rock band though.

Stoic 02-27-2006 03:46 PM

wasnt it axl who said that he wanted to play some soft music for girls because he didnt like the view of sweaty men singing along?

Are you familiar with Theory In Practice?
Unfortunately no, I know nothing more than they are a tech death band from Sweden. Would you redommend them?

Josh 02-27-2006 03:48 PM
Oh I see. I have to disagree about what he said about them not being a rock band though.
hmm, i wouldn't ever say maiden were rock, definitely still good ol' Heavy Metal.

Stoic 02-27-2006 03:48 PM

Except for tech death they're melodic death but in a pretty unique way you cant imagine.

Melodic death ist Krieg! I must investigate this band. Thank you for notifying my Stoicy.

Even so, I still think Maiden can be classed as a rock band.

anyhow, any snow down your end of the country yet? it tried here earlier, didnt come to anything. i have no lessons tomorrow other than general studies, which for some reason my school made compulsory, so i won't miss much if it snows a lot overnight.

either it'll snow, or you'll get the heavy rain we had for most of the day :p

NP: RHCP - Around The World.

Jev 02-27-2006 04:01 PM

I hope to God it'll snow.

Anyways I'm off now. Later guys.
Umm... metal is rock?
>_>

<_<

point conceded.

EDIT: i'm out, later.

Steerpike 02-27-2006 04:26 PM

Thoroughly enjoyed those tracks. Sacrifice was a great new epic. And I laugh every time I hear the ending to Catch of the Century. No matter what anybody says, I think it's great to see a band with such a free-wheeling sense of humor.

EDIT: To Josh, because for some reason the Refresh button didn't think half a page worth of posts were worth displaying.
Iron Maiden - English
Axl - American

Iron Maiden - Innovative musicians.
Axl - A consistently overrated frontman.

Iron Maiden - A bunch of class act guys who have been rocking together for years.
Axl - Notoriously difficult to work with.

Iron Maiden - Have turned out consistently awesome music for 25 years.
Axl - Spent the majority of his career on just one album that still hasn't even been released.
You could've just said that Axl Rose can't sing, whilest Iron Maiden's members are each very good at what they do.

Yeah, the new album is great.
Superheroes alone is a bone fide classic.

Stormrider 02-27-2006 04:56 PM

I need Hellfire Club. I'm in love with the song The Piper Never Dies.

Lord Abortion 02-27-2006 04:59 PM

I need to make a point.

Screw everyone who doesn't like Californiacation by the Red Hot Chilli Peppers, I might think the rest of their stuff is mostly not great, but that is one mostly excellent album.

Thats a great cd. So is Blood Sugar Sex Magic.

Lord Abortion 02-27-2006 05:18 PM

There are a couple of meh tracks near the end, but when Road trippin' comes in, it makes up for it, wonderful album.

GenuineImitation 02-27-2006 05:30 PM

Parrallel Universe, Otherside and Californication are my favorite songs off the album.

Lord Abortion 02-27-2006 05:34 PM

I would say otherside, scar tissue, emmit remus and porcelain are mine

NP-Saviour.

GenuineImitation 02-27-2006 05:36 PM

I never got into emmit remus that much. Then again I never really listened to it much. I guess I'll add that to my ever growning list of music to listen to.

i am the robots 02-27-2006 05:37 PM

I decided to write me a review since I haven't for a while, and I ended up having to add Overcast... hopefully this gets them more notice, especially considering that they're getting back together some time this year to release a new album.

NP: Overcast - More Metal Than Your Ma's Kettle

Lord Abortion 02-27-2006 05:50 PM

Ollie and others;

TAKE THE HINT AND CHECK OUT OVERCAST EVEN IF IT IS COMPLETELY DIFFERENT FROM WHAT YOU LIKE!

They're so good.
Ollie and others;

Yes, it is a very good Atmosphere album, indeed.
Californication
Easily my favorite RHCP album, even though it tails off towards the end.

Obviously people from countries other than the US are superior to those born within the US.

Nothing. It just sounded funny in my head. Can't win 'em all, I guess.

Aside from Coldplay, Tony Blair, soccer hooligans, "chavs", and people who relentlessly bitch about "chavs", I don't hate any British people.

(note: the above groups make up roughly 95% of the United Kingdom's population)
