Christian metal should not be supported as metal is in itself anti christian and a force against Christianity. Why allow that scum to invade metal? And what christian metal is little more than cheap ripoffs of anti christian metal? There's plenty of decent non christian metal out there. The fact that you're an atheist means nothing to me.

Metal is just a goddamn music genre. That's what it means to me. Sure there's more anti-christian bands than christian bands, but metal itself is not inherently anti-christian.
The non-vocal elements of music can't really be pro or anti anything imo. Music gets that type of meaning either from knowing the intent of the composers, or listening to the vocals.

If you found out your favorite band's guitarist went to church every sunday, even though he wrote "anti-christian" metal, would his music not be good anymore? Sure I might be a little disillusioned he was just putting up an image, but it has no affect on whether the music is good or not. We have no idea what most of these metal musicians true beliefs are, so why hate on christian metal if it sounds good?

I see metal as an artform that communicates a belief. Thus it's important what the metal communicates. If you don't see music as art I think you're just treating metal as an entertainment form, not as something deeply meaningful. I think it's important that Christan bands are rejected because then it keeps the meaning of metal strong. In a community that rejects Christianity explicitly why tolerate something that will drag the music's meaning down?
