Oh my, since when do you care about blind guardian? Plus, I dont see the point in getting a live album when there's a nice DVD out...
I've just loved the Bard's Song (and been meaning to check out Blind Guardian) ever since I got a video of it on a DVD.

Doctor Night 02-27-2006 01:08 PM

The Bard Song is awesome. I love the live version.

Stormrider 02-27-2006 01:12 PM

Blind Guardian are brilliant. Definitely get some of their stuff Bartender.

I want to hear some Blind Guardian live.
Is it me or is all you seem to listen to is Classical Music.
Yeah, pretty much these days.

I just got back from a good piano practise. I'm learning music by Bach, Chopin, Beethoven and Bartok at the moment and I've noticed my music reading is definitely improving.

If you furnish me with an email address, you can hear some.

My back hurts from cracking it too much. I can't help it no more :(

Stoic 02-27-2006 02:37 PM

cracking it? Are you talking about that disgusting habbit some people have (cracking their fingers etc)?

Shadows 02-27-2006 02:41 PM

That is indeed what he means! I've had the habit of cracking my fingers my whole life, I've never really tried to stop it. I also used to chew my nails and fingertips, and because of that my fingertips are now slightly scarred. Luckily it's a very minor thing and I managed to quite that habit several years ago.

Yes, and I can't help it! :(

I bite the loose skin on the sides of my fingernails constantly, they're now a mess

I was hooked on that. It's a dreadful habit. My fingers were constantly bleeding and my fingers are ripped down shorter than they should be. :(

That's worse than cracking to me.

I can't crack my fingers on my left hand anymore for some reason.

I gave up cracking. but I don't tend to bite them so much they bleed, not often anyway.

This is cracking fingers, not the breaking down of long chain hydrocarbons into smaller, more useful ones.
I bite the loose skin on the sides of my fingernails constantly, they're now a mess
i've been trying to stop doing that for years. occasionally i go for a few days and my fingers look normal, then i get stressed about something...

my hands are all calloused a lot of the time anyway, as i'm outside shifting stuff at the stables where we keep our horses, and i go shooting fairly often as well.
it has expired :p
Yeah, I'm thinking there's nothing left to crack.

Stormrider 02-27-2006 03:16 PM

I bite my nails, and used to cut my toe nails with out a nail clipper. That led to 2 ingorwn toe nails at the same time, So I've stopped doing that.

And I used to like fold the skin on my knuckles...and the skin would all be bent and read...but I stopped doing that a long time ago.

Josh 02-27-2006 03:24 PM

well, i don't think Axl does.
Iron Maiden = awesome.
Axl = teh sux0r.

although the old GNR stuff is great, i love Appetite for Destruction.

Yeah, speaking as a maiden obsessive, I really hope he doesn't have anything in common with maiden either.

Can someone fill me in here? Did Axl supposedly compare himself to Maiden or something?

Steerpike 02-27-2006 03:34 PM

Let's see...

Iron Maiden - English
Axl - American

Iron Maiden - Innovative musicians.
Axl - A consistently overrated frontman.

Iron Maiden - A bunch of class act guys who have been rocking together for years.
Axl - Notoriously difficult to work with.

Iron Maiden - Have turned out consistently awesome music for 25 years.
Axl - Spent the majority of his career on just one album that still hasn't even been released.

I think it's safe to say that Axl has nothing in common with Iron Maiden.
