Casual Fourteen - *Insert Own Rhyme Here*

Hello everyone! How are you all?

So we've actually started this Sound Engineering course, today I was messing round with a MIDI version of Kashmir by the mighty Led Zeppelin, converting it into an orchestral song, with ambient synth!

Later on we do a full on studio remix of Marvin Gaye's What's Goin On, we've got a copy of the original 2" master tapes!

Wintermute 10-15-2004 06:58 PM

You'll get no sympathy for going lonely for 4 days, matey.

madthumbs 10-15-2004 07:05 PM

my amp seems to be ****en up in one of the four speakers. It isn't bad but its a very mild fart/pressury sound on the top left corner speaker. It is kinda making me angry. But im going to get my cousin to look at it. He knows all about that ****.

Thats the latest news with me... otherwise nothing is happening!

FUNKNBASS 10-15-2004 07:06 PM

I sold my Ampeg SVT CL and one of my GK 2001RBs. I also ordered the Ampeg SVP CL preamp and the SVP 1600 poweramp to replace them.

i'm learning Hamm's Moonlight Sonata, i've got about the first 4 bars down.
if i weren't a tapping amature i guess it wouldn't be as hard, but i assume it'll improve my tapping anyway.

anyone have any advice to enhance my tapping skills? i.e. easier things to practice on that will involve all my fingers to help me get better.

wonder_steve 10-15-2004 07:12 PM

I'm shopping around/imagining my dream bass, other than that not heaps except training for next years rugby season.

Wintermute 10-15-2004 07:24 PM

Try Hamm's Prelude In C. That does wonders for tapping.
You'll get no sympathy for going lonely for 4 days, matey.
I'll give you some sympathy! My other half's been away for 35 days so far and doesn't come home until the 10th of Nov. The first few days were hell... but then I knew I'd got ages to go... actually I'll take that sympathy back! Wintermute is totally right, and I'm too nice, sometimes, in short bouts!

HaVIC5 10-15-2004 07:24 PM

I just wrote a nifty little jazz chart in Bb major. Hopefully I can get it recorded in a bit when my jazz buddies and I record a demo.

Mango Kid 10-15-2004 07:25 PM

How is Hamms moonlight sonata tapped? I heard he just uses the fretting hand. IMO theres no need to tap it, I just finger style it.

bottlerocket 10-15-2004 07:38 PM

Heyy guys. I just got in from work (yeah, I worked on a Friday night. I'e had to do it for two months straight, and next week is my last Friday). Kinda sucks, but whatever.

So anyway, I haven't seen my girlfriend for a week. Not bad at all, but it kinda sucks. We're both so busy with school, clubs, jobs, family, etc. that we barely see eachother. Oh well...soon it will change though. Hopefully we're hanigng tomorrow after I get out of work.

You can certainly fingerstyle a fair part of it, but tapping it is easier.
