Enduring infatuation with Pink Flag. This time it's "Ex-Lion Tamer" as the song of the moment.

That song is probably my favorite off the album. Either that of Mannequin. Currently digging: Can - Tago Mago Pink Floyd - Atom Heart Mother |
Embrace - s/t
Nick Cave - The Boatman's Call |
The '67 s/t. I'm downloading the next two right now.
Check out Transa too, if you come across it. My favorite album of his that I've heard so far. Listened to these so far today: Swell Maps - A Trip to Marineville Caetano Veloso - Caetano Veloso [Tropicalia] Scott Walker - Climate of the Hunter Marineville should get as much love as Jane from Occupied Europe does, but it doesn't seem like it does around here. I could listen to "Full Moon in My Pocket" -> "Blam!!" -> "Full Moon (Reprise)" forever. |
My dad got him and I tickets for Zappas Playing Zappa so I am diggin on some Hot Rats at the moment! :-D :-D
|
"The Holiday Song" is a fantastic Pixies cut that should have been on one of their more popular albums. People might be missing out on it :(
|
Grandaddy - The Sophtware Slump
They were pretty good. |

I only have Return of The Durutti Column but it's very good. Looks like I'll have to check out Vini Reilly.
Right now I'm diggin this Frank Black bootleg I found on soulseek. It's a solo performance of some Pixies songs. Just FB and his guitar. It's nice. |
I thought Return of Durutti Column was decent, but it got really boring in places. Maybe I'll check this one out...
|
Dimmer - There My Dear
Hendrix - Electric ladyland Voom |
I'm digging any Nick Cave I can find.
He's so cool. |
I guess all that I've been digging today is stuff that my band has learned, or is potentially learning.
That means estradasphere, Gravity, Herbie Hancock, Frank Zappa, King Crimson, Uz Jsme Doma... but only one or two songs. |
Mission of Burma- Vs.
pretty good music, but the vocals are kind of annoying. too britishy for an american band  |
I still don't know why Vs. has the status it does.
|
The Knife - Silent Shout
This album just gets better and better. One of the best from this year. |
Glenn Branca - The Ascension, Lesson No.1, and Symphony No. 1: Tonal Plexus
Tangerine Dream - Phaedra Cocteau Twins - Treasure Funkadelic - Maggot Brain Frank Zappa - Hot Rats Regina Spektor Begin to Hope Bedouin Soundclash - Sounding a Mosaic That's about it right now. |
Definitely! My initial reactions were very poor as well - then I re-listened about a month later and it all clicked. I'm very glad that I gave Silent Shout another chance.
|
I need to listen to a grower. I'll check it out.
|
yeah silent shout is a very good album. it's really really cool when you are walking at night
I'm digging any Nick Cave I can find.
i heart hiroshima
Yeah, boooyeee. Wire - 154 Wire - Pink Flag Pavement - Crooked Rain, Crooked Rain Thom Yorke - The Eraser The Smiths - Hatful of Hollow Prince - Purple Rain Man, The Eraser is so damn good. I friggin' love it. |
I'm finally seeing IHH on Sunday. With Sekiden and Iron On. Should be a sweet show.
|
i almost saw them at that all ages show with the grates but i didn't. :(
|
:(
The Grates are so awesome live too. |
Yeah, good work bread. And The Grates are definitely awesome fun live, if but a little sickly sweet.
|
Trophy Scars - Alphabet. Alphabets.
Even though I should hate it, it's wicked sweetness. |
XTC - Drums and Wires
Richard Hell & The Voidoids - Blank Generation The Pop Group - Y Blank Generation seems to be my favorite album at the moment. |
I've been loving Blank Generation too.
|
Two Gallants - The Throes
I forgot how good this album is. |
