TheInvazion 06-10-2005 10:57 PM

TheInvazion 06-10-2005 10:57 PM

stop triple posting please.

btw, i'm listening st. anger now, reminds me the day i used to hate it.

benfan 06-11-2005 07:36 AM

yeah its not a good album, its not rubbish its just not very good, alot of the songs seem dis-jointed and to long,i mean if they would of made some of them shorter it could of redeemed them, i guess thats just the metallica way

hetfieldfan86 06-11-2005 11:02 AM

Best Album....anything other than MOP?

This a question/topic for all u hardcore MetallicA fans. What was their all'-time best album? Master of Puppets or Ride the Lightning? I'm huge fan of MOP and usually say its their best but the only reason it gets it would be the title track cause in my mind and many other's its close.

BassMasterMike88 06-11-2005 11:26 AM
They caried the thrash sound for like...2 albums. MoP and AJFA are barely thrash.
Kill Em All is definalty thrash at some of its best though, can't argue with that.
RTL to a lesser extent.

Oh dear god.

heavy metal kid 06-11-2005 01:37 PM

so, i was hearing Dream Theater play metallica covers, and i was pretty sure that Dream theater makes the best covers, until i heard damge inc., one version was from theater and the other was from Napalm Death...
I was impressed, i liked more napalm's version, maybe because they stick to the badass sound, or just because i love grind, imo Napalm Death did a better job in Damage inc than Dream Theater.
What other bands play good metallica covers?

Whale and Wasp 06-11-2005 01:39 PM
But you haven't heard every single album recorded so how would you know?
a lot of bands cover metallica. go on amazon and look up metallica tributes. DT's covers are the best however

JACKROXYOU 06-11-2005 01:53 PM

yea theres at least 10 12 tribute albums

Joe 06-11-2005 02:10 PM

heavy metal kid 06-11-2005 08:07 PM

i check the tribute stuff....they all suck exept for apocalyptica, this dude toppinen is a true mussical genius.

\m/Pete\m/ 06-12-2005 01:51 AM

Disturbed does a pretty good version of Fade to Black believe it or not

FlyingPaul_83 06-12-2005 02:57 AM

I have only heard Dream theater and apocalyptica covers. did you know that rob trujillo played bass on a cover of battery on a tribute album? Maybe that's why he did so good at the audition. I love that part on SKOM where they are showing the bass auditions and every body plays for whom the bell tolls

Chu 06-12-2005 05:26 AM

I have a few different cover songs, about 18 all up.
The majority cover Battery, I dunno why, I guess they like it (Only ever heard 2 decent covers of Battery though, no one can pull off that first solo anywhere near as good as Hammett).

JACKROXYOU 06-12-2005 11:38 AM

most of the metallica covers off tribute albums are good

but covers from say MTV Icons? not so good

RustedPieces 06-12-2005 12:16 PM

hey in fade to black whats that eerie sound that plays in the beginning after the horn intro.? anyone know what i mean

flamesofbodom 06-12-2005 07:20 PM

are you sure your talking about fade to black and not the unforgiven?

Carlos Santana 06-12-2005 07:23 PM
are you sure your talking about fade to black and not the unforgiven?
no in fade to black sorry theres no horn sound
its the eerier chord thing thats at the intro

MyFriendOfMisery 06-12-2005 07:42 PM

I think St. Anger would have been a lot better if they produced it better. I saw a live performance on Yahoo launch and it sounded really good. The drums sounded like drums not tin cans and guitars and the vocals were clear sounding. I was impressed with it.
