Yeah dude, the fire song is so good especially because the way they were talking about this album made it sound like it was gonna be a lot more out there, mellow and like wannabe indie. But the fire song made me so happy to hear that there's still a soft spot in their hearts for heavy music and screaming. Even though it hasn't some out yet, I know it's gonna be so hard to decide what is better: the new album or vheissu. The new stuff is incredible and Vheissu definitely changed my life. It's just a matter of whether or not they get too heady on the new stuff. Vheissu was the perfect mix of experimentation without losing focus on what they wanted to do/their traditional sound. If you stick to your traditional sound, the album feels underwhelming. If you experiment too much, the album gets lost and feels confused. Vheissu was perfect.

I'm also really happy that they're not pulling a Sparta with all their blogs about how they were using brushes and experimental stuff and they came out with some radio rock wannabe Radiohead album.

s'hitty recordings, barely audible vocals...

this isn't madness... this is EMOOOOOOOOOOOO

iamrockzorz 08-09-2007 02:25 PM

Gallows were fcking insane at warped tour yesterday. They stole the show in my opinion. The fcking singer started the set from the middle of the circle pit, swinging around the mic stand like a goddam battle axe and hittin himself in the face with the mic until he started bleeding. It was intense.

Duude that's totally punx.

RetiredAt21 08-09-2007 04:41 PM

Sounds like a retard to me.

santi3hg 08-09-2007 05:31 PM

Dude, whats the name of the dude who killed himself because his bandmates told him so. You should know this, black metal band.

iamrockzorz 08-09-2007 07:27 PM
Sounds like a retard to me.
So does the guy who decided to name his band Goatvomit 666.

RetiredAt21 08-09-2007 07:40 PM

Goatvomit 666 is 98745293847503465 times better than hitting yourself in the face with a mic until you bleed.

santi3hg 08-09-2007 10:40 PM

Justin, my question was to you.

I'm pretty sure music and an action aren't comparable. I'm just saying dude, Goatvomit 666...

team_racket 08-10-2007 10:46 AM

face hitting lamezorz. gallows are a real fun band though.

iamrockzorz 08-10-2007 10:47 AM

RetiredAt21 08-10-2007 11:12 AM
Dude, whats the name of the dude who killed himself because his bandmates told him so. You should know this, black metal band.
That was Mayhem. Their vocalist (Dead...that was his name...) killed himself. And they used a picture of his suicide scene for the front of one of their albums.

RetiredAt21 08-10-2007 12:12 PM
Yo so I looked up Mayhem on wikipedia and read about Burzum and all that. I had no clue. All this time I've been listening to my one Burzum track and not thinking, "this dude killed some other dude in a bogus way." All of that NSBM stuff is crazy too. I had no idea. So many Aryans. I couldn't say that these people are bad though because it seems like they're just all insane. Maybe it's partially because of the translations, but the way they talk is just off-putting and weird. The way they phrase certain things bugs me out.
I like a lot of NSBM. And yeah, foreigners are creepy.

Matt? 08-10-2007 12:13 PM

what the f'uck...

Some australian dude was in front of me at the store today and I thought about calling immigration on that motherfucker. He's taking a good americans job.

There we go. Yeah and they used the pic and it was the guitarist who gave him the gun right?

And yeah pretty crazy **** what Nick read.

Glitterati 08-11-2007 12:03 AM

black metal is silly

haha, vince vaughn

i love that guy

The drummer (Hellhammer) used a piece of Dead's skull for a necklace. And I'm pretty sure Euronymous (the guitarist) put pieces of Dead's brain in some sort of soup.

whiteminority 08-11-2007 11:28 AM
f'uck i seriously think i am gonna make two consecutive 2 + hour drives for shows...

THIS WEEKEND IS GONNA RULEEEE
So? You spoiled northeast types think 2 hours is some great herculean distance? I have to drive like 4 hours to get to good shows in Nashville, Lexington (KY), or Atlanta. Occassionally we'll get something good in Knoxville but that's rare as **** or something lame happens like I have to work and can't see Cease Upon the Capitol at my favorite venue because work.

God I hate the south.

Eurynomus made that rumor up to up his "evil" rep.

Justin I reccomend you pick up the book "Lords of Chaos" it is a very accurate representation of the early 90s Norwegian Black Metal scene. Its primary focus is on the terrorism of the scene members so it focuses a lot on things such as the prior mentioned incident, and the church burnings, etc. All in all a really great read.

santi3hg 08-11-2007 12:20 PM

That is a really good book.

RetiredAt21 08-11-2007 12:21 PM

Yeah, I never got around to reading that.

EDI: do any of you guys like any NSBM?

whiteminority 08-11-2007 12:23 PM

Generally I oppose myself from listening to it because I just can't agree with the bastards. Graveland is some sick jamz though.

RetiredAt21 08-11-2007 12:25 PM

I listen to quite a few NSBM bands.

santi3hg 08-11-2007 12:39 PM

I don't, for the same reason Ben just said. But I don't listen to any.

whiteminority 08-11-2007 12:40 PM

Yeah I can imagine people who aren't white sort of being pissed about the lyrics.

santi3hg 08-11-2007 12:45 PM

Eh, I'm european white so to speak. But either way its not like I take a particular liking to the lyrics.

cobert 08-11-2007 12:45 PM

Since when does Justin have almost 20k posts?

santi3hg 08-11-2007 12:47 PM

Holy ****, I didn't notice.

My post counts need to raise. The next 20 posts in this thread are mine, I call it.

cobert 08-11-2007 12:48 PM

No don't spam.

hc/e is mocing fast today, srsly. I remember when pop-punk used to be like this. :(

santi3hg 08-11-2007 12:52 PM

Yeah it is moving fast. One post after another.

cobert 08-11-2007 12:55 PM

Damn, I still need to write those lyrics for xATHEISTxREIGNx.

My friend isnt down for it though, so that gives you guys more of a reason to move close to me and start a band.

santi3hg 08-11-2007 01:02 PM

What schools are in pittsburgh.

cobert 08-11-2007 01:07 PM

University of Pittsburgh, Duquesne, Carnegie Mellon, Robert Morris.

EDIT: But I want to go to school in NY, but we went over this. Binghamton would be nice but its a reach, so im looking at Buffalo. Pitt is a backup for me though.

santi3hg 08-11-2007 01:14 PM

W3rd. I gotta wait a year till I heal from my ****ed up leg anyways till I can go off somewhere.
