If it's a Metal Masters date, they only get 30 minutes.

ArcLite 08-01-2008 02:19 PM

Yeah, so they were awesome. :thumb:

It was just them with a few not so great local bands. Got a high five from Chuck, fist pound from Bostaph, and one of Peterson's picks.

Setlist Highlights (by album, not playing order)

Over The Wall
Apocalyptic City
Practice What You Preach
The New Order
Into The Pit
Disciples of The Watch
The Preacher
D.N.R.
3 Days in Darkness
More Than Meets The Eye
Henchmen Ride
Killing Season

May have missed a couple but those were the best ones.

Been digging Cranium as of late.

Speed Metal Satan/Slaughter/Sentence, all good \m/

I wanna say thanks to Jondur for mentioning the new title from Onslaught. This recording is about the truest representation of old school Thrash that I've heard. Album totally kills. Doesn't mean to say that I don't like these revamped Power/Thrash hybrids even more. Just that Onslaught put together a record that's totally in sync with what Thrash was initially envisioned to be. And, I do hear some Power elements in there anyway. Hey, I embrace change if it serves the music. And, serves the dark one in the process.

amazing

south_of_heaven 11 08-01-2008 11:46 PM

I think they're all awesome tbh (Cranium that is).

Oh and new Onslaught is alright. I really liked it at first then I realized it was very average.

beans 08-01-2008 11:48 PM

is there another one after killing peace?

south_of_heaven 11 08-01-2008 11:49 PM

Nope, that's their newest.

beans 08-01-2008 11:50 PM

oh then i agree although when i heard it i didnt really think it was all that great off the start, i mean its ok, but idk

That's the same set they played when I saw them in early May.

Glad you had a good time.

I do not care for Toxic Holocaust.

EDIT: I do care for Toxic Holocaust.

Stormrider 08-28-2008 10:15 PM

So, I'm listening to the European version of Obsessed by Cruelty right now. I owned the US one that was released on a single CD with In the Sign of Evil.

Interesting to hear the difference between both versions.

FatalEnergy 08-29-2008 12:16 AM

I don't know which I like better. Probably the Euro version.

Stormrider 08-29-2008 08:51 AM

I rather the US version, I think.

SoulReaper 08-29-2008 10:43 AM

i would join but i have no idea how to put Titans of Thrash in my name, ive only really used the sputnik section of this site.

pate 08-29-2008 10:53 AM

 Welcome to 2003.
I rather the US version, I think.
The guitar tone and atmosphere of the US release is way better, but you can hardly ever hear the guitar because the drums are so goddamn loud, and the bass is pretty much lost.

Stormrider 08-29-2008 06:30 PM
The guitar tone and atmosphere of the US release is way better.
That's why I like it more.

But yeah, the drums are pretty overpowering at certain times, though. At first it took me by surprise, but I got used to it very quickly.

jrowa001 08-29-2008 11:17 PM

ThrashMaster27 10-07-2008 05:30 AM

There is a direct correlation between me not listening to metal and this thread dying!
