it's sweet

the new deerhoof and arcade fire albums are good but aren't really that interesting. i'm sure neon bible will grow on me when i listen to it more or buy it when it comes out
I was a bit dissapointed by the new Deerhoof album too. It was ok, but probibly their worst that I've heard.

Eliminator 01-31-2007 05:31 PM

yeah it's kind of boring

listening to neon bible again. it's growing on me

wonderful!

I've been digging a lot of Jesus Lizard and Scratch Acid lately. David Yow oh yeah! Also, I've been into (((microwaves))), an awesome noise-rock band. And Film School, they are good.

How is that Panda Bear record?

Kayetan 01-31-2007 08:25 PM

Really good in my opinion. Really good in eliminator's opinion.

Iai 01-31-2007 08:30 PM

The Psycho score, Neon Bible, and Van Halen's first album.
How is that Panda Bear record?
I think I might like it more than any of the Animal Collective albums. But there are a couple snore moments. "Bros," the second half of "Take Pills" and a chunk in the middle of "Good Girl/Carrots" are the stuff, though.

Eliminator 01-31-2007 09:11 PM

album is best of 07

Robert Crumb 01-31-2007 09:14 PM

I think I'll concede that. I mean, no matter what I say about the album, I've been listening to it every day since I caught the leak. I haven't heard Neon Bible though, not that I'd expect to be blown away by it or anything.

Eliminator 01-31-2007 09:15 PM

neon bible is probably a grower
at first all the songs sort of sound alike
or maybe it's because i dont feel like paying attention to them
because its not really as immediate as funeral was

asymm 01-31-2007 09:18 PM

Today...
Guns N' Roses - Use Your Illusion I

the one about eggs

NineBitFable 01-31-2007 10:21 PM

The Cure- Kiss Me Kiss Me Kiss Me

Lots of different styles on this one, it's a bit hard to get a handle on all of it, but so far it's worth it.

in other news, I am totally not digging Parklife by Blur. It just seems really, really annoying to me. Maybe its because for the longest time all I heard about it was how amazing it was? either way, I feel cheated out of 9 dollars.

Kayetan 01-31-2007 10:29 PM

The new Andrew Bird is good, I suppose?

Kayetan 01-31-2007 10:47 PM

Ha, that's exactly what I was thinking. I don't do that very often at all, but I bet it would be fun.

asymm 01-31-2007 10:49 PM

This evening as I'm attempting to create a few logotypes...
The Rolling Stones - Let It Bleed
Coltrane - A Love Supreme

I'm really digging this 3-disc compilation called Africa In America: Music From 19 Countries. It's a really wide variety of the core music of the African diaspora in the Americas, and it's awesome and powerful. You can grab it from me on slsk if you like.

 @ Joanna Newsom's show tonight.

Seriously, holy ****. 10/10.

Kyle 02-01-2007 09:30 AM

Neon Bible is definately a grower. It'd be nice to hear all the songs at the same quality though, it'd dificult to get into when you have to spend so much time adjusting the volume.

pixiesfanyo 02-01-2007 12:43 PM

Michio Kurihara - Sunset Notes
