Panda Bear's new one is the honest to goodness stuff. And I'm still enjoying my Neil Young kick, too.

Grizzly Bear - Yellow House

Coalesce - In A Safe Place
This is a pretty great EP |
they named it after the Confederacy of Dunces author's only other work :):(
What an amazing book. Probably my favorite non-vonnegut book ever. I should read more often. Recently I've been digging my random playlist, and it's been working in my favor. Mostly because I haven't put much in it that I don't listen to frequently anyway. |
hair police - obedience cuts
teeth of lions rule the divine - rampton ride - nowhere klaxons - myths of the near future |
Liars- Drum's Not Dead
whoa |
Fugazi - 13 Songs
Fugazi - The Argument Both great, but The Argument is better. I love the production on The Argument. |

Fugazi - The Argument Both great, but The Argument is better. I love the production on The Argument.
The Argument kicks ***. Cashout is such a great song. I've been listening to some Superchunk. |
Superchunk, are they good?
All I know of them is that fIREHOSE did a ****ing mega-sweet cover of one of their songs. Slack Motherfu.cker was the name. |
You'll really like them if you liked their cover. They're kind of Pavement-y.
La Revolucion upped their best albums on the last mailing list. |
Superchunk, are they good?
They own Merge Records so if you're familiar with the bands on the label you'd know pretty much what to expect from them. |
biografiend if you're still looking for new stuff, try some Mirah.
I have a few songs, they aren't bad. Thanks, mang. Today: Rameses III new Andrew Bird Mi and La'u |
OK I'm getting No Pocky for Kitty from the mailing list. We'll see how this goes.
French Toast - Bugman EP This is so good. Like the Feelies meets Faraquet or something. "Breakfast" is an incredible song. |
I have a few songs, they aren't bad. Thanks, mang.
Today: Rameses III new Andrew Bird Mi and La'u
Her material is standard singer/songwriter fare but "Cold Cold Water" is excellent and probably her best song. She should write more stuff like that |
Corrina Repp - The Absent and The Distant
The only other musician on Mark Kozelek's label. |
French Toast - Breakfast
http://www.sendspace.com/file/moa6tt Download this song! James Canty (Nation of Ulysses, Make-Up, brother of Fugazi's Brendan) is in the band, so you should. Plus, it's ****ing incredible. |
It's pretty cool. I wouldn't call it incredible though.
|
! I totally forgot about that band. In a Cave was so-so and I never bothered to check out their EP's. Turns out they released an album last year, and I'm downloading that now.

The new Deerhoof record is AMAZING. I cannot stop listening to it. That's really all I can say about it; it's ineffable, just like any Deerhoof record should be. The new Andrew Bird is cool, but I'm slightly disappointed. It sounds good, great even, and I was very excited for the first few tracks, especially the recapitulation of "I," but he sort of just made a rock album, which actually, now that I think about it, is pretty cool. It's just not what I'm used to from him. Lastly, the new Of Montreal record is AWESOME. I've got a whole bunch of their music, and most of it I don't listen to very much at all, but this is so different and SOOOO much better. The beats are way cool, and the arrangements are very interesting, but it's the vocal harmonies that really blew me away. They create a few really incredible moments. This week's Last.fm is going to be dominated by the new Busdriver record :naughty:. I'll talk about that then. |
