im a relativly new poster and i don't know how to quote but....wait now i do!!
The word for the ritual implement held in the lama's right hand has been translated as thunderbolt but also diamond. The Sanskrit word vajra means adamantine, that is, "diamond-like." Therefore, besides being able to dent any object and overwhelm with its incomparable brilliance, the vajra or dorje represents great durability -- a hardness plus an immutability that is practically eternal. Ultimately, it stands for
Great job on the research penelope :thumb: i think that that poins towards the fact that "lateralus" can never be destroyed. if you think about it it is now on millions of cd's and it has been recorded and will last for hundreds of years and even thousands........in theory!! and it's probly also an indication of the band being very proud of their work and (rightfully so) saying that it can overwhelm anyone with its incomparable brilliance. any thoughts? PS has anyone here ever been to the chapel of sacred mirrors? |

^^ A pig on in a cage on antibiotics
thanks ! i'd never thought of that before but i have to agree .. Lateralus has such a timeless quality to it and although maynard has a theme i guess with the lyrics they will only ever be subjective to anyone who listens to them and makes them relate to themselves. good call. and chapel of sacred mirrors? literally no.. only seen whatever Alex has on the web. :thumb: |

http://www.diymedia.net/audio/mp3ratmtool.htm :thumb:
That's the one I got. |
I'm warning you all beforehand- The sound quality on Revolution is TERRIBLE. I mean, we're talking indiscernable lyrics, muddy guitar riffs, among other things. Still a cool track if you listen to it closely. I'd love to hear a higher quality version, but oh well. :upset:
|
yeah it's dodgy as fvuck
dunno where else to find it tho ;/ |
It's the only version I've heard, so good luck finding it. I'm guessing it's the only one around. :-/
|
does anyone know anything about a possible release date for the next album. i need it
|
Before Summer '06. Less than a year, that is.
|

thats 2 excellent bands, pity RATM broke up tho, but this isn't the place to talk about that! |
For some reason I still question that that is them collabrating.
|
nah you don't owe me anything, brother. |
Hello, all. I've been gone for several days - computer troubles. Any news of late? Also, why is the OFFICIAL part gone in this thread now?
|
Because "Official" is too hardcore.
For some reason I still question that that is them collabrating.

X7. Did Tool and Rage Against the Machine do a song together? They did collaborate on a 7-minute song that is available on various websites. This unnamed song, known only as "Revolution," was apparently supposed to be on the Judgment Night soundtrack, but never made it. It features both bands playing minus Adam (and Justin, obviously)
|
So all Official threads were changed then?
|
You got it.
|
I just recorded 46&2 on guitar. It turned a little better than I thought it would for a first take.
|
yeah thats a savage bass intro *du da du da de dul dadely dadely du da*!! is he running flanger over it, its kinda hard to tell.
any news on the Carey/Claypool colaberation? |
carey claypool???!!?!?
|
The who in the what now?! You can't just say that and leave... get back here.
|
yeah thats a savage bass intro *du da du da de dul dadely dadely du da*!! is he running flanger over it, its kinda hard to tell.
He uses a chorus pedal, which is similair to a flange effect, but it doesn't garble the notes together, which is what happens with excess flange. When I play 46&2 on my guitar, I typically add a little bit of chorus, just to add a different flavor to it. It makes the song sound quite spacey. |
