Dr. Jake Destructo 04-04-2006 04:34 PM

Man, I went to my local guitar dealer yesterday and F'd around with a PODxt Live...Those things are so sick. Plus, I was playing an Ibanez RG which are always smooth to play on, but man..If I had a spare 400 bucks laying around, I'd fork it over for one of those. :-D

Stormrider 04-04-2006 04:35 PM
I don't know which one. My B-Day is on the 26th and I have off next week. I plan on going to Guitar Center for a few hours and playing around with all the pedals.
That's Cool. I wish There was a guitarcenter near here...

My B-day is on the 28th of May. I pretty much know what I'm asking though. Some cd's and money. I need money for my guitar this summer.

I would like a pedal though sometime. Or maybe I should wait to get a better amp...I dont know.

Jake. my brother has a POD xt live...its pretty sweet.

GenuineImitation 04-04-2006 04:36 PM

My friend may sell me his RG for $100 and its barely used. He got it two years ago because I had a guitar, but only played for a week.

Lord Abortion 04-04-2006 04:48 PM
Not to bad. Tomorrow I have that audition for that band that will open for DT. Im not even sure if they are Prog Rock or Prog Metal. I just know they are Prog.
Get Petrucci to sign your arse if you get it, man.

God damn I love Dream Theater, They are about this *makes hands really close together gesture* close to rivalling Maiden as my favourite band ever.

NP-DT-Disappear(Live at the Budokan)

I like Mogwai.

Dr. Jake Destructo 04-04-2006 04:52 PM

I like having people sign my arse. Makes for a good story once you get out of in house detention after you get caught by a teacher for the said act of signing.

Sup thread?

Dr. Jake Destructo 04-04-2006 05:00 PM

Not a whole lot. Just wallowing in a pool of pity over msn with a friend of mine who has had an equally lame Spring break.

Hers actually sounds borderline interesting though..Her brother got into a fight at 3 AM, beat the crap out of some dude, and broke his band. She had to take him to the ER an hour away, and they had to do some kind of limb-saving operation. Oshi'

Wow, everybody's been depressed lately... damn April fools day!

Been better, but I'm not too bad.

NP: Thine Eyes Bleed - Live To Die

Thor 04-04-2006 05:03 PM

I'm only depressed because this is the week I got back from Spring Break. Luckily, I came back to find that I am now on the honor roll and have a 3.8 GPA. Oh skeet...

i am the robots 04-04-2006 05:06 PM

Nice work man.

NP: Thine Eyes Bleed - Corpse You Up

too many pinch harmonics, good song though.

Dr. Jake Destructo 04-04-2006 05:07 PM

Next week is the second week of the state-wide standardized test for Sophmores and Freshmen. In theory, this would leave all juniors and seniors with a 9:50 late arrival time.

All juniors and seniors except the zero hour AP Chemistry class. Which I am taking.

:( it's allright though, I still get two hours off from 7:50 to 9:50.

You wanna talk about too many pinch harmonics? Let's talk about Bleeding Through...:)

i am the robots 04-04-2006 05:12 PM

I wouldn't be complaining if I were you dude.

I have to get up at 6:30, and then catch the bus at 6:55 and get to school at 7:40.
You wanna talk about too many pinch harmonics? Let's talk about Bleeding Through...:)
Hahaha, I dunno, that particular TEB song has a huge saturation of 'em.

Lord Abortion 04-04-2006 05:13 PM

I'm pissed off that my band aren't playing this gay music night, but I now have a better gig lined up at a local beer festival, a new name, and a new attitude of hope towards the band.

Thor 04-04-2006 05:13 PM

Ouch. I get up at 7:15, leave the house at 8:05 and school starts at 8:45. It's early, but not nearly as bad as yours.

What's your bands name, and do you have a website?

Stormrider 04-04-2006 05:14 PM

I start school at 7:40 and end at 2:15

Lord Abortion 04-04-2006 05:14 PM

I get up at, often later than, 8:10, leave the house at 8:30 and get to school off the bus for about 8:50

school finishes at 3:25, but I normally have something on after school, so I don't get in until gone 5.

Thor 04-04-2006 05:16 PM
I start school at 7:40 and end at 2:15
Man I'd love to be you. Mine ends at 3:35 and getting out of the parking lot is a bitch, so I usually don't get home till around 4:15.
I start school at 7:40 and end at 2:15
I get out of class either at 12:00, 12:20, or 1:00, depending on if its a MWF class or a Tues Thurs class, and If I have lessons that day.

Stormrider 04-04-2006 05:18 PM

My mom drives us, so I get home at around 2:35. If I take the bus to go home I arrive at about 3.

I never take the bus in the morning.

Thor 04-04-2006 05:19 PM

I would drive to school in the morning but my brother has to use the car to get to school earlier which leaves me no option but to ride the bus.

/just got my lisence

ATM 04-04-2006 05:20 PM

I have school from 10-2 and work from 3-9 most days.

Dr. Jake Destructo 04-04-2006 05:22 PM

I get up a 6:00, leave for school at 6:30, start school at 6:50, get done with school at 1:20, have tennis practice from 2:50 until 5:00. Then I usually go and chill at Taco Bell for an hour (zomg loitering) and after that, I head home. Arrival time: 6:30.

Then weekends. :D Me gusta.

That doesn't sound like a powermetal band name. If I'm not mistaken didn't you say you were singer of a powermetal band.. but then I guess you're probably in 2 bands then.

i am the robots 04-04-2006 05:26 PM

My school starts at 7:45, my homeroom teacher doesn't understand that getting to my locker on the opposite side of the school and then back to her homeroom with books sometimes takes more than 5 minutes considering that the sophmores walk like they're 500lbs over-weight for some odd reason.

We get out at 2:15 though, so that's good.

Dr. Jake Destructo 04-04-2006 05:27 PM
Out of all places why would you choose to hang out at a Taco Bell?
Mostly because me and my friends are basically infatuated with the place. :p I mean, come on, nowhere else on the planet has three different variations of Mountain Dew under the same fountain, amirite?

Baja Blast <3

Plus, it's pretty close to the tennis courts, so yeah.

We're a real mix, the closest I can describe is a sort of Power/German thrash/Doom band.

I mean, the guitarist is a real Metallica fanboy, but he likes alot of classic rock too. The bassist is a Nu-Metal fan, and the drummer, well he's Shadow_Stalker on here, if you see him. Complete Sabbath and Power Metal nut.
Then there's me on vocals, and I have such a range of influences it'd take forever to list.

So the two or three songs we have written have these huge tolling Doomy riffs, contrasted with some thrashy instrumental sections and power vocals, and whatever other vocal styles I fancy putting in there

i am the robots 04-04-2006 05:34 PM

Let me guess, bad vocals?!

I seriously hate the British accent on vocals.

Sounds pretty cool. If we lived in the same town then my band would be playing shows with you guys all the time.

My band (Rob the Killing Tree) is a hard rock/metal band that loves to just flat out jam/rock out for crowds. We're also a very theatric band to see live (sword fights on stage and whatnot)

Yeah, we do that too, we cover The Trooper by Iron Maiden and the guitarist and I use the guitar/ mic stand as bayonets:p

Invicta_Veritas 04-04-2006 05:41 PM

Anybody heard of the band Ishtar? I just got one of thier albums from a friend of mine, they are pretty badass......german Black Metal....very interesting.....

^^^^^^You both are generalizing way too much.

TojesDolan 04-04-2006 05:41 PM

Eh I have school from 7:00 to 1:20 PM everyday, except Wed, Thu and Fri when it's until 2:10. yeah.

Anyhow, I heard pinch harmonics? Cause I'm struggling with them at the moment. :upset:
