rasputin is obviously obsessed with me since he doesn't even like death metal yet comes in here just to try out his latest insults on me. It'd be kind of cute if it weren't for the homosexual overtones.
Listen to Death instead. They're Floridian Death metal at its best.

Cannibal Corpse is the best NY Death Metal (Chris Barnes era from first album up to The Bleeding owns) and then Gallery of Suicide and Kill from Corpsegrinder era. Rest is a bit meh.
Another person who knows nothing about what they're talking about. Immolation>Suffocation>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Cannibal Corpse.
Sounds like you just had another fulfilling trip to the mall. Did you pick up any Cradle of Filth? What about Kidz Bop Vol. 3?
Are you saying he got Thresholds at the mall? I'm not sure you even know what you're saying half of the time.

Obsequies 04-17-2008 10:39 AM

I'm saying that the fact that he doesn't like it makes him a malldwelling idiot. If you don't at least appreciate Nocturnus' first two albums, you're a poser and you need to stay far way from death metal. Pretty cut-and-dried, really.

Solitary, I think Effigy is probably better than everything Immolation has done (if only slightly), but I agree that Immolation is the better band on the whole.

Obsequies 04-17-2008 10:50 AM

Ah but what am I talkin, this Cocaine idiot wouldn't know good metal if it ripped out his squirrel.

np Before Christ/After Death

I wasn't even talking about the quality of the albums. And for the record, Nocturnus is better in theory than they are on album. Still great though.

Obsequies 04-17-2008 11:03 AM
Nocturnus is better in theory than they are on album.
What do you mean? Like, the idea of technical, thrashy death metal with some keyboards and ambience (that work well) SOUNDS good but isn't executed as well as it could have been?

**** off with that. Nocturnus is perfect.

Anyway I'm heading to bed. I don't really get what you mean. I probably misinterpreted you.

exactly. + rep
edit: **** i must spread

Nocturnus are far from perfect but the Key is great/essential death metal even though it gets a little Morbid Angel worship-y at times. Thresholds isn't bad by any means but its not as good as the key.

Tyler 04-17-2008 11:37 AM

unless it's a "huge neck" competition the idea that cannibal corpse is the best anything is ridiculous.

jrowa001 04-17-2008 11:39 AM

i could never get into anything Cannibal Corpse and Deicide have done.

rattle,
I haven't heard Choir Invisible, but I really like Assuming the Godform tbh

Have you seen their band pic on M-A? Tell me that's Jeff Loomis in the middle with the DARE shirt lol

yeah i've seen it lol definitely not him but it'd be hilarious if it was

well i only heard ATG once, and it wasn't bad but it just wasn't very memorable for me. And btw if you want it it's available here:
http://www.masterthis.net/loomis/loomis.htm
I added it as a link to Exp. Fear's MA page so everyone can find their first demo. Plus I also listened to ATG a long time ago so my opinion may change if i check it out again.

Tell me why I still remember that song from when the D.A.R.E program was at my school:
D- I won't do drugs
A- Won't have an attitude
R- I will respect myself
E- I will educate me

Another new Deicide track is up.

Brad Norris Fan 777 04-17-2008 12:00 PM

and its boring as ****

Deth 04-17-2008 12:01 PM

Yeah, pretty boring.

It's lacking any urgency whatsoever.

Brad Norris Fan 777 04-17-2008 12:02 PM

and the vocals are lolzworthy as usual

lol 'till death do us part'? are they ****ing gayer than i thought?

and lol opeth rip-off intro

Deth 04-17-2008 12:02 PM

I've never had a problem with his vocals, so they're just more of the same to me.

Brad Norris Fan 777 04-17-2008 12:03 PM

he's so fake sounding, idk.

also, i'm relistening and that main riff goes NOWHERE

Deth 04-17-2008 12:04 PM

Yeah, it's basically the same song as In the Eyes of God. Just plods along for 3 minutes and then ends.

The guitar solo was alright, but even that felt uninspired.

Thanks for the link

Haha, that song is catchy as f-ck, that's why
It reminds me of this reading song we used to be taught in elementary school

"Reading is fun and FUN-damental,
You'll find out when your reading
READ a book, it'll fascinate the MIND"
\m/:evil:\m/

They made those songs so damn catchy with their epic chords. brilliantly composed tbh

rattlehead42147 04-17-2008 12:12 PM

no problem man, I got actually got it from a dude who was in Jeff's prior band Fear Tech.

yeah they had a way with making songs extremely stupid yet catchy at the same time.

FatalEnergy 04-17-2008 12:13 PM

Both this new song and In the Eyes I've noticed have too many chromatically based riffs which make it sound kind of uninspired.

RetiredAt21 04-17-2008 12:21 PM

I fell asleep whilst listening to the new Deicide song.
