Here's a question. Last night I recorded the guitar on my electric simply because my mum and brother were watching TV and I didn't want to disturb them by making noise. Should I use an electric in the way I did there or should I mic an acoustic with my crappy PC mic?

I made the coolest avatar ever to celebrate Kanye West's idiodcy but it has too many bytes.

I nominate that for best moment in television history.

Zmev 09-03-2005 07:40 PM

What happened?

That's quicktime. There are some other versions in the pit.
Happy Birthday(:chug: as usual) What gifts did you get?
Well, here's what I got on the musical front:

Iron Maiden- Killers
Primus- Sailing the Seas of Cheese
The Replacements- Let It Be

I've only listened to the first one so far, but I have no doubt that I will enjoy the others. I don't take risks on my album-buying; I usually go in with a pretty good idea of what I will dig in the future.

Also, I couldn't get the albums I really wanted at Best Buy because they weren't there. No Melvins albums at all! And here's what really pisses me off: albums by classic rock bands are always limited to greatest hits compilations or ridiculous remasters that strip away anything especially neat and reminiscent of when they were recorded. The only Yes albums I could find were some anthology (with all the long songs turned into "single edits") and the one with "Owner of A Lonely Heart" on it!

So no Fragile or Close to the Edge for me; I'll have to try Amazon. Maybe in a week or so when I can also pre-order the new Coheed album.

The same thing happened to me. I went to Best Buy looking to buy Closer to the Edge and all they had was some crummy greatest hits. I ended up buying it used at a local record store.

Hahaha. Closer to the edge sounds like a Linkin Park song.

Did you use effects on your voice or are you a goblin?

br3ad_man 09-03-2005 09:50 PM

I must be a goblin. Though I'll probably add some reverb when I'm done.
I paid $2 for my vinyl copy of Relayer

:)
I'd be such a content nerd if I could listen to "Gates of Delirium" on vinyl.

In other news, I went to the shitty local fair tonight. It's hardly a fair though as it just consists of gambling and other clever ways to throw away your money, including a very literal game where you actually try to throw your money into beer mugs in an attempt to win them.

Luxor 09-03-2005 10:56 PM

Yay for solving your problems with rum!!

Zmev 09-03-2005 11:17 PM

No one should drink and internet.

Luxor 09-03-2005 11:20 PM

I know it's really hard.. I;m trying my best to spell correctly.

Save lives, don';t drink and internet!

Tangy zizzle 09-03-2005 11:20 PM

Yeah it's a sad passtime and I for one will have no part in it.

Zmev 09-03-2005 11:34 PM

The Queers are good in that "not great songwriters but the songs go by quickly and are sort of amusing" way.

And I'm bored so I''m going to do a review for them O NO HOPE ITS NOT DELETED.

Glitterati 09-04-2005 09:07 AM
What's wrong with that song
Absolutely nothing

I saw the strangest thing at the beach the other day. There was a man (he had to be nearly 70) sitting at a bench singing. But it wasn't normal singing. He was sitting there, singing opera-style. It was so cool. And there was a bunch of people watching him like " :amaze: "

ZEROthirtythree 09-04-2005 09:13 AM
Hey Zero you going to any shows at 930 soon?
You know, Every Breath You Take is a great song.

Iai 09-04-2005 10:15 AM

Channel 4 did the Top 50 #1 Singles Ever recently, and that song basically made it in there twice (original + P Diddy).

Lolz.

Diddy was on the Top 50 Singles Ever.

Bad list I take it?

Iai 09-04-2005 10:18 AM

It was okay.

I was just glad Imagine didn't win like it always does.

Kyle 09-04-2005 11:09 AM

My second day of work today............the store flooded.

Spent all day with a mop and bucket, sucked.

Daniel! 09-04-2005 12:24 PM
