What exactly was the problem? XD It must have been pretty bad for an old woman to raise her voice.

kurrpt 06-23-2006 12:17 PM

i deal with medication..... ALL day

she was bitching about not getting her medication. I knew exactly what her ploy was, and began to state what she needed to do. She felt the need to interrupt me, and state that shes been on the medication for SOOOOooo long and had no problems getting. I told her flat out i didnt care how long she was on it, and began to repeat myself so she got the big picture. Thats where she decided it would be a good idea to interrupt me again, and start to raise her voice

yea, that conversation didnt last long. can you say PWNED?

Lmao.

Are you proud you hung up on a dying old widow?

kurrpt 06-23-2006 12:22 PM

no, but i would perform that action again if it came down to it. I just find it amusing that someone could be trying to help you, but you are too stupid/close minded to listen to an answer when you are hearing. She was too busy trying to insert her opinion in a situation where it wouldnt help her get what she coveted so much. I can't really feel too bad for ignorance. Chances are she called back and talked to someone else. Either way, not my problem

True. I couldn't do a job like you do, I have a very short temper.. so.. I'd end up cussing at people and hanging up on them all the time.

Me + Job with fones =/= Good

Mild_child 06-23-2006 12:27 PM

Paul McKee, where do you work?

kurrpt 06-23-2006 12:30 PM

its for an insurance company called First Health. I deal with the PACE program, which is prescription drug cover for low income elderly peeps.

As far as tempers/patience go, its really trying at times, but I see it as a test of true character. I personally hate this fukking place and cant wait to get out of here, so i make the best with what i haave

Mild_child 06-23-2006 12:32 PM

Damn, I need a summer job.

kurrpt 06-23-2006 12:34 PM

Yeah, also cause I have pretty much nothing to do during the summer other then sit in home and masturbate. I could go jam with my friends, but my drummer is in LA right now, selling crack and my bassist apparently lost his bass amp.

HOW CAN YOU LOSE A BASS AMP??

SirSpamalot 06-23-2006 12:41 PM

bass amp? that's nothing

in this band I was in last year, we lost our bassist

like actually, he just disappeared

no one had any idea where he went

ya crowley it's quite a stretch but it gives awesome upper fret access and is comfortable for long periods of time

Go down where?

overturned 06-23-2006 01:07 PM

To the street where I live.

I think it was quite clear from the way I typed that I am viewing the goings on from an elevated position.

In other news I just fell in love with a BC-Rich Mockingbird, if I can haggle bellow £300 I'll have it me thinks.

Careful with it, I bought a BC Rich Bich and it's nigh on impossible to sell privately and Sounds Great laughed me out of the building when I brought it to them and asked for £125. The points also have a horrible tendency to get chipped, no matter where on the body they are.

Other than that, the Mockingbird is a damn fine guitar.

Haha, kids. I live in between a drug dealer and Netherton's biggest smackhead. You think YOU got it bad.

Don't know if it's just because Bich's aren't that common, but I wouldn't buy another. Check it out for yourself, eBay can be a goldmine.

I've got a pretty big show coming up and I wanted a nice guitar to play, turns out I can't even afford a second hand Squier Affinity Strat.

So yeah, I'm setting up as a registered charity. 'Poor British Kids Want New Guitars'. You think it'll catch on?

You Americans are spoilt. Relax with the Ibanez for a while.

Here's an interesting thought. In South Africa, the "guitar culture" is not one of l33t shredding. It's not one of even owning Marshall amps - an MG is a big "wow", and an MG halfstack is the best amp in the world. Totally slammin'. No-one knows what Vox or Orange or, God forbid, Mesa Boogie is. It's not one of owning Fender guitars, not even Mexis. It's one where a $600 RG is an amazing guitar that warrants no further upgrade. It's one where "brand name" basses don't even exist. Et cetera.

Also, musical equipment here is horrifically expensive. While the USD-ZAR exchange rate is about 1:6.5 at the moment, there seems to be a separate exchange rate for musical equipment, which is closer to 1:14. Srsly, relatively speaking, you lot buy Mexi Strats for the same price we pay for Squier Affinitys.

HOWEVER.

All these disadvantages taken into account, I think it's made a better musician of me. You lot living in the US and UK have musical instruments much cheaper, which means it's less of a commitment buying a new instrument. You even have eBay, where total bargains can be had. Us South Africans have to properly save up and contemplate what we want to buy for a long f*cking time before shelling out. The end result of this seems to be that true gearheads such as myself come out on top. I've been through so many instrument phases before - Les Paul, Custom 22, Strat, Tele, RG - that I've had a lot of time to contemplate what the best purchase is for me. The end result was a Strat. I couldn't be happier. There is no guitar I would rather own right now. I will add a Tele to my setup, later; but the Strat was the perfect choice. It does everything I thought it would perfectly. How many of you can say the instruments you bought were perfect? Almost all I hear on MX is people selling their old guitars for GAS, or adding a further guitar which has some capability the other 17 they own don't.

sup long post that no-one in the casual thread is gonna read

BC Rich NJ Series Bich
w/ Floyd Rose

How much you reckon I could get for that on eBay? Was a gift but I've grown out of the BC Rich phase and now want something cheap, second hand and in a garish colour. I call that the teenage guitarist - phase two.

Got my eye on a £140 TV Yellow Les Paul DC copy, which I'm looking at because of the P90s. I'll be using it solely to attract attention to myself so it doesn't matter what it sounds like.

Nipples 06-23-2006 02:31 PM

You might have to pay someone to take that BC Rich tbh.

The Black Fist 06-23-2006 02:31 PM

I just found out that after sitting on your *** for two months drinking beer, a few hours of moderately difficult manual labour is surprisingly taxing
You Americans are spoilt. Relax with the Ibanez for a while.

spoiled? what you talking about. i have been poor all my life.

dude i just said i liked the stuff...mostly the '72 and the hot rod. dont get your undies all in a bunch.

jeez?

having a man-period today?:p

i didnt want it because of the name,i want it cause it sounded great.

but my amp i have now only cost me $65 and i would never get rid of it. it kicks ***!

and i am perfectly happy with the ibanez,i'm not replacing it.

the '72 has been marked down $300 cause it's not selling...i'm not sweating it cause i don't have the money...but to be honest it will probably be there for a long time and get it's price knock down a lot more cause not much equipment get's sold here it seems. i've seen some stuff at this store longer than a year...

whoa huge post...

Robx 06-23-2006 02:33 PM
sup long post that no-one in the casual thread is gonna read
I did.

I'm 15 but I work for what I have and spend a lot of time hunting out the best price and the only guitar I own that cost more than £100 is that BC Rich.

Unlike a lot of people I don't got begging to my parents for stuff, and I dont get £100s of presents for christmas. So a guitar is still a massive investment for me.

Respect for working round your situation and coming out on top, makes me feel physically ill when the dudes in my class bring Gibsons to school shows and I turn up with my guitar that the previous owner sanded the name off, but hey dude, they all suck. I agree a lot of people are spoilt.

Robx 06-23-2006 02:34 PM
You might have to pay someone to take that BC Rich tbh.
Yeah, I've heard that. I was going to chop the damn thing up and hold it ransom to Greenpeace.

kurrpt 06-23-2006 02:36 PM

just because i have nice gear, doesnt mean im "spoiled" by any stretch of the imagination. I appreciate the things i have in life that are considered nice, but im not attached to these material possessions as you would think.

Royd Rage 06-23-2006 02:39 PM

my gear is not a material possession for me. it allows me to express music. which besides my wife and daughter is all i have.

mutant i think who have a misrepresentation of americans. a large percentage of us barely live above the poverty line. it's kind of hard to be spoiled when you dont have a lot of money. a lot of people work hard for thier **** and deserve it.
