Nick's get reamed?
Cheap shot but I couldn't resist.

Music means more to me than just something I like to play along to on my bass, or to just nod my head to. I'm sorry, but that's the way I am.

I just don't see how anyone could compare SFAFC to what came before it, unless you can relate to songs about being part of a scene or something where people are having fun and then becoming more and more aloof until the people who helped get you where you are don't like you anymore.

Oh, right. I just got it.
And of all the things we'd ask, out of all the ways we'd like for it to be,
they're just drunken conversations,
song lyrics sung at the top of our lungs so desperately like:
"I believe in a power that is of and by the people
I believe in an art that cannot be compromised.
I believe that all will endure, and all will overcome.
And I will sing it until I no longer remember the reason."

What was the reason?

Yeah, those lyrics can only be specific to what you're saying, and suck.

I like ATEC way better than SFAFC, but seriously, why are you trying to convince Nick that his favorite Against Me! song isn't that good or worthy of being passionate enough? Who cares? People listen to music for different reasons.

Ding ding ding winnah winnah!

ThisUserIsAPipebomb 09-01-2006 09:39 PM

Why doesn't anyone call Crime, Crime as forgiven by? Or Reinventing Axl Rose, Is Reinventing Axl Rose?

Those are little letters on the front of albums, gone to waste.

Brain Toad 09-01-2006 09:40 PM

I've seen Crime as Crime as Forgiven By, I think that's how I have it labeled on my mp3s.

Never seen RAR with the I.

I think it's because of the awkward use of Against Me! in saying it. i.e. "Have your heard Against Me!'s Crime as Forgiven By Against Me!? or Against Me!'s Against Me! is Reinventing Axl Rose?

ThisUserIsAPipebomb 09-01-2006 09:47 PM

Probably. And yeah, I have Crime as Crime as Forgiven by in my ipod, but I don't have the Is on RAR.

Oh well. Their waste of ink I suppose.

Flagjacket 09-01-2006 11:53 PM

Is as forgiven by

I'm just stating my opinion. I know I won't change anyone's mind.

Twin Human Highway Flares 09-04-2006 10:47 PM

I watched "We're Never Going Home" today and I'm wondering about the part where that Welsh guy is talking about Axl doing voodoo on little Against Me! puppets after hearing about RAR. Did that actually happen? Or is it speculation that can't be proven? If it did happen, it's damn funny.

AIRIC 09-04-2006 10:49 PM

Hahaha that part is funny I've wondered if that's true too.

What's that DVD like? Is it worth buying?

Twin Human Highway Flares 09-05-2006 07:16 AM

It's okay, I guess. I bought mine used, though. I don't think I'd buy it new. I was pleased to find a live version of Shit Stroll in the extras.

TakeWarning 09-05-2006 08:38 AM

I find it's pretty entertaining.

AIRIC 09-05-2006 10:17 AM

I think it's worth the money to be honest. It's really entertaining.

sketchyjoe 09-05-2006 05:20 PM

What songs are on it?

Twin Human Highway Flares 09-05-2006 05:53 PM

Umm, Pints Of Guinness, Sink Florida Sink, You Look Like I Need A Drink, Problems, Walking Is Still Honest, Baby I'm An Anarchist, We Laugh At Danger.

I think I'm forgetting a few, then there's the extras too.

babaca 09-05-2006 09:29 PM

joy, those anarcho punx..., rice and bread, che guevera, TSR, impact, **** stroll, Exaustion. I think those are all the ones that were missing

thepo 09-05-2006 11:06 PM

Reinventing Axl Rose, I Still Love You Julie, and Turn Those Clapping Hands too. There's also short covers of Billy Idol's Dancing With Myself, Creedence Clearwater Survival's Lodi, and some Pink Floyd cover. Billy Idol is Tom and their old drummer kevin. The rest are just Tom in the van with an acoustic guitar.

Twin Human Highway Flares 09-05-2006 11:14 PM

That scene with Tom and Kevin at some guy's house is awesome. I thought it was cool that James Bowman was in the crowd. Or was that at some other show? He was in the crowd at one of 'em.

TakeWarning 09-06-2006 04:07 AM

The part where they lock Fall Out Boy in their changeroom is rather humourous.

good rats 09-06-2006 04:30 AM

Isn't it Taking Back Sunday they lock in the changeroom? Not Fall Out Boy?

Either way it's pretty funny. I haven't seen it in ages though, i might buy it.

AIRIC 09-06-2006 04:39 PM

Yeah it's taking back sunday.

I love when the dog in the background starts rolling over and Tom starts laughing. Hilarious.

Yeah it is. I always get those two bands confused.

Massriot 09-09-2006 09:14 AM

I love Against Me!
and anyone who doesn't, is a racist.
I love Against Me!

that's a poor assessment.

AIRIC 09-09-2006 08:52 PM

Jude get off my forum.

Harsh but fair I'd say.

Amphetamine 09-20-2006 10:54 PM

Walking is Still Honest has been getting replayed by me a lot recently. That chorus is fantastic.

sketchyjoe 09-21-2006 03:47 AM

Word.

AIRIC 09-21-2006 02:54 PM

I'm kinda sick of it tbh.

It's their one early song that I've heard WAY too much.

Jammer 09-22-2006 03:19 PM

You look like I need a drink is one of the best songs I ever heard:)

Microwave meals & ideals 09-23-2006 06:46 AM

I can't stop listening to the Crime EP at the moment. Every song on it is so good!

babaca 09-24-2006 01:51 AM

for sure. the Crime EP is my favourite thing Against Me! has put out. It's just full of solid tunes. I love Impact and Burn!

AIRIC 09-24-2006 01:14 PM

Yeah it's probably their best overall release.

Chairmahn of Jah Board 09-24-2006 02:03 PM

No way. Cavalier eternal, or the acoustic ep is my favorite.

Angry Balled Fists! 09-24-2006 03:20 PM

as the eternal cowboy for the motha fuking win.

Jase23 09-24-2006 04:12 PM

I used to think As The Eternal Cowboy was best until i went back and properly listened to Reinventing Axl Rose. Since then i've just gone and listened to everything, and now my favourite release by them is either RAR or the Acoustic EP. that EP is so good.

Armaggedon and Those Anarcho Punx.. for the win.

Microwave meals & ideals 09-24-2006 04:31 PM

I've got the acoustic EP on 7" so mine only has 4 tracks :(

babaca 09-25-2006 01:04 AM

im really loving wagon wheel alot lately too. good song, even though its a cover

TakeWarning 09-25-2006 07:43 AM

Wagon Wheel is amazing.

Original version sounds rank as hell though.

Henrik 09-25-2006 09:54 AM
