I don't really like Dead Skin Mask. I got sick of it.

I find with Seasons the fast tracks (besides War Ensemble) were filler, but the mid paced stuff was good. Blood Red is my favourite from Seasons.
Yes, that song is awsome, the riffs have an awsome "groove"

MRDuCran 03-11-2006 09:16 PM
Sucks for you man, this looks like it's only going to be a USA tour.
Well that's what I thought but SimonCore wrote:

"Yes. I just re-read an article on slayersaves.net and king said it's coming to the UK...."

...so I don't know yet, hopefully they're bring their asses over here.

Bazarov 03-11-2006 09:17 PM

They might not come to the UK on the Unholy Alliance Tour... but I'm hoping that they kick off another tour after they release their new album. Which would be awesome. If they do that, then it'll most likely be a world tour.

NP: Angel of Death

here comes that awesome breakdown.

SimonCore 03-12-2006 06:10 AM

My favourite song from RIB is Angel of death/Raining blood, from Seasons War ensemble, South of heaven south of heaven

Thor 03-12-2006 07:46 AM
My favourite song from RIB is Angel of death/Raining blood, from Seasons War ensemble, South of heaven south of heaven
Those would be the predictable ones, but they're all great.

Apocalyptic Raids 03-12-2006 07:48 AM

They're supposed to be coming to Australia with this tour. yay!

Thor 03-12-2006 07:49 AM
They're supposed to be coming to Australia with this tour. yay!
Lucky for you aussies, Europe isn't getting jack ****.

Apocalyptic Raids 03-12-2006 07:54 AM

Well you guys usually get everything, so suck it :-P

SimonCore 03-12-2006 08:15 AM
Those would be the predictable ones, but they're all great.
Well they're the predictable ones because there the most popular ones because they're the best ones off the albums! My other favourite off them three are: RIB, postmortem, altar of sacrifice, reborn, SOH, BEHIND THE CROOKED CROSS, silent scream, mandatory suicide, SITA, Spirit in black, self title track, dead skin mask, and blood red.

Apocalyptic Raids 03-12-2006 08:19 AM

The title track and Spill The Blood are my favourites from SOH.

Thor 03-12-2006 08:22 AM

What are you guy's opinion on Show No Mercy? Should I get it?

Apocalyptic Raids 03-12-2006 08:24 AM

Fuck yes!

It has some of their best work. My 3rd favourite Slayer. Well, 4th favourite if we're including Haunting The Chapel.

Thor 03-12-2006 08:25 AM

Hmm... I might have to look into that then.

At the moment I can't decide which is better, South of Heaven or Seasons in the Abyss. This is hard!

Apocalyptic Raids 03-12-2006 08:27 AM

hmm.. it's hard for me too, though I haven't listened to SOH nearly as much as Seasons.

Thor 03-12-2006 08:29 AM
hmm.. it's hard for me too, though I haven't listened to SOH nearly as much as Seasons.
Neither have I, but SOH has a way of getting me hooked on it. At the beginning of this school year I must have listened to that album 15 times through.

SimonCore 03-12-2006 08:48 AM

This is the only negqative thing about Slayer! All there albums are equally good! Too hard to decide which is better:confused:

Thor 03-12-2006 08:49 AM

No, they're not all equally good. RIB, SOH, and Seasons all just happen to kick copious amounts of ***.

I'm not that big a fan of Hell Awaits.

SimonCore 03-12-2006 08:59 AM

I am! The guitaring just sounds so er smooth (couldn't think of a better adjective).I think they're worst was probably Diabolous but that was still quite good. They only play Stain of Mind live usually don't they?

Pantallica32 03-12-2006 09:55 AM

i'm thinking about getting a new album from slayer, what do you guys recommend ? south of heaven, or hell awaits??? i"m pretty confused
i have RIB, Seasons, and god hates us all, i find RIb their best, and "seasons" and "god hates us all" equally good but not as good as RIB.

SimonCore 03-12-2006 10:09 AM

SOUTH OF HEAVEN..............................or divine intervention.

MRDuCran 03-12-2006 10:56 AM

I'm really fond of Exile and Payback.

SimonCore 03-12-2006 11:42 AM

Tbh i'm not too kean on Exile. Off GHUA my favourites are: Disciple, god send death, New faith, Here comes the pain, and payback.

MRDuCran 03-12-2006 11:43 AM

I think that whole album is cool to me because of the production, that combined with lower tunings is just much heavier.

[Nightbreak] 03-12-2006 11:46 AM

I cant believe so many think SoH is a really good Slayer album. Most of the Bostaph stuff is better than SoH. All the tracks on it sound a bit "flat", not as in pitch but in depth. The only one that's at the right tempo for the song is Mandatory Suicide. SoH itself is a brilliant song, but only when performed live. My favourite version of it is on Live Decade of Aggression.

I like the one on War at the warfield.............what's this? A good performance on WATWF:amaze:

Demon_King 03-12-2006 01:24 PM

Bostaph ruined Slayer for me. Dave has made Slayer and there music.

Every track other then Ghosts Of War was great on South of Heaven

I don't like 'Cleanse the soul' either.

You are no longer welcome in this thread :P

If you want some pretty fast riffage and awesome songs get Hell Awaits.

NP: Read Between The Lies
This song used to be my favorite song by them before I got Hell Awaits. I still think it has some of Slayer's best lyrics.

SimonCore 03-12-2006 03:17 PM

Or if you like the modern day heavier sound then get God hates us all.

Demon_King 03-12-2006 03:20 PM

South of Heaven and Reign in Blood are the 2 best albums to start on.

I'm Charming 03-12-2006 03:48 PM
Or if you like the modern day heavier sound then get God hates us all.
God Hates Us All is the only decent album of the last 3 or w/e new Slayer albums.

Seasons was the last time they were great.

Bazarov 03-12-2006 03:51 PM

Yeah, but Divine Intervention has it's moments. Such as Dittohead or Serenity in Murder.

Apocalyptic Raids 03-12-2006 06:34 PM

Divine Intervention was better than GHUA. I haven't heard Diabolous In Musica yet, and I don't intend to.

Demon_King 03-12-2006 06:38 PM

Personally I think Divine Intervention is their worst album.

Bazarov 03-12-2006 06:50 PM
Divine Intervention was better than GHUA. I haven't heard Diabolous In Musica yet, and I don't intend to.
Yeah it's a waste of time. The only semi good songs on that albuma are the first 3.

Demon_King 03-12-2006 07:32 PM

GHUA had good tracks. Half of the album was good.

Disciple, God Send Death, New Faith, Exile, Bloodline, and Here Comes the Pain

Apocalyptic Raids 03-12-2006 07:37 PM

I used to like those tracks when I was new to Slayer.

I can't stand them anymore though. Tom vocals are horrible on GHUA.

NorseLaQuet 03-13-2006 12:37 AM

so is war at the warfield a good dvd? i wasnt sure, so i got still reighning-------which i think is awsome, but i may get war at the warfield.......

gojira_from_mars_tosirius 03-13-2006 02:32 AM

south of heaven is their only great record.

I'm Charming 03-13-2006 02:35 AM
south of heaven is their only great record.
haha. Quoted for idiocy.

My rankings of the albums,

1. Show No Mercy
2. Reign In Blood
3. South Of Heaven
4. Seasons In The Abyss
5. Hell Awaits
6. Haunting The Chapel
7. God Hates Us All

The rest not worth ranking

Don't bash me for ranking Hell Awaits 5th... I love the album, just not to the degree I love the others.
