He obviously aint a Maiden fan if he dislikes the chorus of Run to the Hills. It's classic!
I never said I was.
I never said I was.
Then what are you doing here?

Run to the Hills is the single most recognisable Maiden song ever and one of the best songs ever. When most people think of Maiden this song is the first in their minds, so leave it alone, or I'll set Eddie on you!

Exactly!!

E.vil_N.ever_D.ies1344 08-13-2004 09:30 PM

I dunno if Run To the Hills is what people think of when they think of Maiden. I'd say it was Number of the Beast. Than again when I think Maiden I think of Fear of the Dark or Still Life OR anything off SSOASS and Piece of Mind 1st.

Slrainox 08-13-2004 09:48 PM

I like Piece of Mind over Number of the beast, but I love both albums. I just found Piece of Mind more enjoyable to listen to at all times. in NOTB they were kind of just finding their niche.

I just found Powerslave Vinyl in my dads old records :)

MAthiAS 08-13-2004 10:06 PM

I too prefer Piece of Mind over NOTB... but they both own, and they're my top two Maiden albums after SSOASS

Piece of Mind is easily better then Number..., Powerslave is great too and Somewhere in Time. Maiden are timeless. Always gonna be the best and will always define Heavy Metal better than anyone else.

Arcarsenal Ghost 08-14-2004 12:14 AM

I'm here to discuss Iron Maiden.

So just because I don't like a chorus of a specific song, I can't post in here?

E.vil_N.ever_D.ies1344 08-14-2004 12:17 AM

eh don't listen to that **** man(assumes you are a man since he is a sexist pig and also because he sees barrat(sp)p.s. Vincent is way better) say what you wanna good or bad just so it ain't rude. diversity and constructive arguements are always good.

Arcarsenal Ghost 08-14-2004 12:27 AM

Haha, yeah. I'm a guy. Eh, I didn't like Vincent. I imagine if Hot Topic had commercials, Vincent would be the spokesman.

Anyways, people in here are f'ing anal about someone disliking a "classic."

It's not like I said they sucked or anything.

E.vil_N.ever_D.ies1344 08-14-2004 12:30 AM

yeah people can be overprotective. myself even though I like the song I think it gets boring after too much of it. I liked Vincent because he was calm, cool, smart, and had very badass limits. Yuffie and Tifa were kool too. Red XIII was great. I liked most the characters.

Arcarsenal Ghost 08-14-2004 01:07 AM

Haha, I agree, but let's keep this thread on topic, ok? :thumb:

After looking at the powertab for The Trooper, it sounds harder than it is.

But then again, I'm a guitar noob, so I can't play it. :upset:

**** tremolo picking!

Hey, it was on the official site and I liked it, how was I supposed to know that someone else had it.

EDIT: There I changed it, just for you! Now I'm gonna kill anyone who's got my new avatar 'cause I'm not changing it!

And for the kid who dislikes the chorus to run to the hills. What would you do if you saw them live? They always end their set to it because it IS the greatest maiden song. (I love all their songs, but you all know that song gets everyone pumped (well if you have ever been to their concerts or seen the concert vids.)

But I suppose you are entitled to your opinion, just don't get mad if you go to a maiden gig and the fans next to you ask you why the hell you aren't singing along to one of the greatest live songs ever. :thumb:

yea, i went to download (donnington) last year and i was disgusted at the amout of people not jumping around singing, dont get me wrong, there were loads, but not as many as i think there should have been (which is everyone!!)

my (current at least!) favourite live maiden tracks are sign of the cross and the clansman, which is wierd, because the studio versions with blaze's efforts on there sucked!

i hate when not every one is not jumping, even if its only a few, becouse i always get stuck in the middle of them.... and Leave BLAZE ALONE!

The Mercenary 08-14-2004 09:03 AM

i never liked blaze, he just isnt maiden (to me anyway!), but after listning to maiden for so long with bruce, i just didnt like the change. i wonder what someone who picked up virtual XI or the X factor as thier first maiden album would think. saying that i really enjoyed diannio albums....

the_uber_penguin 08-14-2004 03:06 PM

Does anyone know where I can find some of Iron Maiden's acoustic recordings?

E.vil_N.ever_D.ies1344 08-14-2004 03:07 PM

I love Blaze. His Maiden days aren't as good as his solo stuff but, excluding the Clansman, I do dig it all.

Thunder Fingers 08-14-2004 03:08 PM
Does anyone know where I can find some of Iron Maiden's acoustic recordings?
eh, i havent heard of any of thoose...
the closest you get is sum 41's acustic version of the trooper...

mr snrub 08-14-2004 03:14 PM

i have often wondered about maiden acoustic, and never found anything, so it is an interesting point. but yes, sum 41 did do an acoustic of the trooper, which wasn't great, as expected.

Now that WOULD be interesting, acoustic Maiden, I'd love to hear that if it's real.

i guess "journeyman" is somewhat an acustic..

YDload 08-14-2004 07:26 PM

From the "Is This Too Obvious?" file:

The albums "The X Factor" and "Virtual XI" have Roman numerals in them because they're Maiden's tenth and eleventh albums, respectively. I always pronounced them "The Ten Factor" and "Virtual Eleven," but that may not be right.

Guess what number album SSOASS is?

E.vil_N.ever_D.ies1344 08-14-2004 07:36 PM

I'm listening to Journeyman right now. Also there was an Iron Maiden tribute albums that was all symphony/classical versions of their songs. I forget what it was titled though.
