Well, I got back from the dentist, about 2 and a half hours ago. And my mouth is still so numb. It's crazy, I try to say some words and only half of my lip moves, like when I say "food" or "pool".

Stoic 07-20-2005 05:01 PM
How? I've always wanted to be considered crazy in a good way.
I dont know, it's this dark sarcasm and twisted at times sense of humour.

Anyways, 2:02 am, goodnight!

Apparently you don't live in America. It's 6:02 PM here, and I'm getting off soon because Mommy should be coming home soon.
surely if he's a mod he could just change his name to the correct phrase?
whatever it was meant to be...
I don't think even Supers can do that. He could easily have DBJ do it.
Request: id like my name changed.

reason why: because i post good

reason why not: because sometimes i dont post good
That's about what it'd take. :p
surely if he's a mod he could just change his name to the correct phrase?

Well he'd have to get DBJ or mx to do it, since supers can't do that themselves, but it wouldn't be too much of a problem. zero has it done quite regularly, for example.

I'd say he just doesn't care. It's his name, it has something of a story about it, and has no real effect on anything.

Lord Abortion 07-20-2005 05:27 PM
Well he'd have to get DBJ or mx to do it, since supers can't do that themselves, .
really?
they have less power than I thought, alot of mods have to get other ones to ban people for example, I suppose it's necessary to allow mods to prove themselves before full powers are granted
really?

I think that it's only local mods that can't ban. And I think that Aes and Mav are the last two.

Bartender 07-20-2005 05:33 PM

Damo is still a local mod, too. That's as much of his volition as anything, though. He has neither desire (nor, I'm beginning to suspect, the ability) to ever leave the D&P forums.

Lord Abortion 07-20-2005 05:35 PM

ah right, thanks for clearing that up, I haven't had to deal with mods except for normal talking to you and Jelle and maybe Sting-ray in the football thread

/is a good boy :p

Dr. Jake Destructo 07-20-2005 05:42 PM

So who here has been banned, and what for? If you've not been, you should be. It's fun. :p

I got a 3 day from Joshmay for spamming The Pit.

Lunch 07-20-2005 05:44 PM

I got banned awhile ago for a couple days, I think just for posting in a bad thread.

Speaking of that, some people that post in illegal threads really should be banned. Especially the "in before close" people.

Lord Abortion 07-20-2005 05:45 PM

never had one, I don't spam much and try to obey the rules as much as possible,

Illmatic 07-20-2005 05:51 PM

To this day I have not been banned once.

Lunch 07-20-2005 05:53 PM

^My parents just decided that I should check out the University of Illinois.

Illmatic 07-20-2005 05:54 PM

Seriously?

When are you graduating high school, anyhow?

Lunch 07-20-2005 05:56 PM

Apparently Illinois is a better school than I thought (not an insult to you, but my mom is convinced that I should go to a very top-notch school, so I was a bit surprised when she mentioned it would be a good place to go).

And I'd graduate in 2006.

Illmatic 07-20-2005 05:58 PM

Okay, so you got one year left.

Illi's not for everyone, but I like it.

Lunch 07-20-2005 06:06 PM

How many people go there? I wouldn't mind going to big a school (actually I'm most seriously considering University of Michigan), so I might like it. Probably alittle too much Orange for me though.

Jom 07-20-2005 06:13 PM

A friend from my university is from Illinois, but came to my university because of its supposedly exemplary degree program that she was pursuing. I guess U of I doesn't offer it or something, but man, she loves the state. We watched the Big Ten football game together when U of M played U of I, and I don't think I heard enough "I...L...L...I...N...I" chants from her until U of M started whomping on U of I, heh.

Lord Abortion 07-20-2005 06:19 PM

off to york tomorrow for another university visit, to another place I'm going to apply to, but which means another 6 hours coach journey, oh joy...
so I think I'll hit the sack, night MX

I uploaded that in honor of my 5,000th post(lol) and it took me about 90 minutes, so you all better use up the 25 downloads. :-D

RCA 07-20-2005 07:14 PM

Jake, did you ever listen to Sear Bliss? If so, what did you think of them?

Steerpike 07-20-2005 07:24 PM

I got banned for a day for double-posting.

Anyway, I recently picked up The Complete Idiot's Guide to Music Theory. For once, I'm reading about music theory, and I actually get it! I'm finally able to figure out the root of at least half the problems I had with my compositions thus far, and I haven't even gotten to the chapter on chord progressions yet. For the first time in my life, I get it!

Riva 07-20-2005 07:28 PM

Hurrah to you Alex!

So, I just pissed off my new boss, before I even started. You see, I told her I could get this Saturday off from my normal work, and do a shift for her. However, my work was being particularly obtuse about it, so I couldn't... I just sent her an email explaining that I feel bad about making a promise I couldn't keep, so I hope she understands. :(

ATM 07-20-2005 08:01 PM

I only have 130 rep :-/ I got negged for double posting once, so that really brought me down.

Anyways, Lunch I was driving home from Waldorf the other day and I drove right by Annapolis.

Steerpike 07-20-2005 08:04 PM
I only have 130 rep :-/ I got negged for double posting once, so that really brought me down.
Don't feel bad. I only have 3.

RCA 07-20-2005 08:06 PM

Bartender negged me for a one word post twice, both of which where in no way spam. I really don't care if I have/don't have rep though.

ATM 07-20-2005 08:07 PM

You only have 3? What the hell, you make more quality threads then anyone else.

Go figure.

Med repped me for my Tarot thread back in May. After that, Bartender negged me for the double post I also got banned for. And Trilemma negged me during his period of unprofessionalism.

Other than that, I seem to go underneath the radar more often than not. I don't know.

Taste_My_Scythe 07-20-2005 08:16 PM

Hello thread. I'm back for a little bit. Finally got MSN Messenger...yay!
I was trying to remember MSN names of people, and I thought I knew Ollie's, but I checked the profile and it was some 19 year old guy from Japan that said he wanted me to teach him english. No thank you.

The Geico Commercial with that Little dude just came on and it cracks me up. "You can do it!"

Eh, pass. I shouldn't have to force-feed my posts on a mod in order to get a rep boost.

RCA 07-20-2005 08:37 PM

What does rep do, ultimately?

NP: Razor - Enforcer (OMGZ THRASH RAPE!!1)

Steerpike 07-20-2005 08:38 PM

It gives you stars under your username that show you have a lot of clout to swing around here.

RCA 07-20-2005 08:44 PM
It gives you stars under your username that show you have a lot of clout to swing around here.
That's all? I remember when everyone was able to rep, there was something else that enabled you to do something...

Meh, maybe I'm hallucinating.

Bazarov 07-20-2005 08:46 PM

Didn't you used to have like 3 stars Steerpike?

Steerpike 07-20-2005 08:48 PM
That's all? I remember when everyone was able to rep, there was something else that enabled you to do something...

Not that I know of.

Frankly, I don't see why we have the whole system. It doesn't accomplish much at all.

Take a look at me. I'm one of the most prominent regulars around here, have my weekly spotlight threads going, have helped out a fair share of newbies, and put all the fools and trolls in their place at every opportunity. But so far I've only accumulated 3 rep. Ken just gave a little spiel about how he reps people that tell newbies to read the rules when they make an illegal thread, but this is news to me. On more than one occassion, I've produced a thread, an own, or a bit of useful guidance that I was particularly proud of, and didn't get a bit of rep for it.

So I just stopped caring. The system ultimately accomplishes next to nothing, and there's no way the mods can be everywhere to properly distribute rep fairly.
Didn't you used to have like 3 stars Steerpike?
Four actually. That was the highest you could go without becoming a mod.
