Indead :) We're making a basement/rehersal room.. Theres two guitarists, a singer/keys and me on bass.. we just need a drummer to join in :) but I fear there will be more jamming than studing, but I'm applying for music so it's all fine with me :D

Wintermute 10-30-2004 11:00 AM

Ah, in that case jamming IS studying.

gaslight 10-30-2004 11:00 AM

Ooh you too? Good stuff.

I'm starting a course at the Australian Institute Of Music next year, begins in late February.
Sweet deal. How was it?
Eh ... it was alright. Not as good as everyone is making it out to be. I prefer the original, but it was pretty fun. I did only play it for like 20 minutes before I got bored with the people playing it ....

:amaze:

:amaze: 10-30-2004 11:32 AM

On a scale of 1 to 10 , how well would you guys say you know standard notation ( 1 worst 10 best ) ?

bottlerocket 10-30-2004 12:41 PM

Hello all.

Noushi 10-30-2004 12:43 PM
Hah! The neighbours might!

If I lived with musicians the jamming would never cease...
I live in a basement apartment with 4 other guys. Together we have 4 guitarists, 1 bassist (:D), a drummer and a vocalist.

Our upstairs neighbours stomp on our floor just about any time anyone plugs in, so mostly it's acoustic jams, sans drums, but it's still good fun.

TomJoad 10-30-2004 12:46 PM

How is everyone doing today?

gaslight 10-30-2004 12:49 PM
sight read?
Sight reading is when you take a piece of sheet music, and can look at it and read/play it straight away.
How is everyone doing today?
woah. I guess i can do that for my level. I caqn read mosyl any peaace on first or second try and my teacher gives me. But **** , how do people actuly know every single note of the bass by looking at the sheet music. I can only dream about something like that

bottlerocket 10-30-2004 12:52 PM

^ Years of study and practice. Very dedicated musicians can do it.

:thumb:

-Gav

gaslight 10-30-2004 12:54 PM

It's pretty intense stuff yeah .

It is attainable though, my teacher's have all told me that all it takes is practice. They have all been very modest people though.

I can sight read tab :p.
