I fail to see how they build entire songs around arpeggios. I've listened to the first 2 albums quite a bit and they don't use arpeggios as much as you imply.
they sound like watain on ambien or something
Ancestral consists of B and H. To genre whores who are looking for depressive sounding bands: you will probably be disappointed. Our lyrics may consist of depression and hints of sucidal tendencies, but that is very far from the greater picture. The greater picture is that we are slaves, more simply the bodies in the gears of the apparatus called society, and we are very, very angry.
lol pretty decent though, have to look into them |
hahaha
Lord Belial aren't good.
lord belial's cool
Absolutely nothing about their music made me interested.
nothing :\ |
okay.
I'm just saying they're one the most painfully average uninteresting black metal bands I've ever heard.
and im like cool bro.
Lord Belial's early stuff was okay. Enter The Moonlight Gate gets a couple spins every year from me.
I'm not a Lord Belial fan.
Been listening to the new Sombres Foret album a lot lately, it's sooo damn good.
Cold Forgotten Earth may be my favorite black metal song of the year. |
He completely ripped off that rip from Freezing Moon, but that song is good. The forest and Le Nuit are much better though. :)
I'm not hearing it tbh.
Dude, it's the exact same riff. The only difference is the drumming, haha.
Steve: you're ****ing deaf man
The opening riffs share a couple things like they're both mid paced power chorded riffs but they don't really sound the same, unless you guys are talking about a different part.
Haha, they're the exact same to me. The guitar tones are even comparable when compared to the De Mysteriis Dom Sathanas version.
Well the opening riff in Freezing Moon is like bum bum bum bum bum bum bum
And the riff in Cold Forgotten Earth is more bum bumumumumum dunun bumumumumum ucthedifference? |
its the same
stfu |
lmao im glad we technically broke it down
get on aim chat nigga |
I listened to Paysage d'Hiver's Winterkaelte earlier today and thought it was pretty poor, is it worth checking out any of their other material? In other words, is it vastly different, or would I be getting the same bullshit.

Check out Einsamkeit, Paysage d'Hiver, Die Festung, also Winterkaelte rips on the internet are very poor quality. |
Yeah, Paysage d'Hiver is really good. Some of the rips are really bad, but tape rips tend to suck in general.
Yeah which is why I ordered all the re-releases on CD hehe.
Maybe I should do that too.
If you like the material it's worth it, the digipaks are kinda pricey and a little hard to find but they are nicely packaged and of course the quality is the way it was meant to be heard, no more tape rips and unseperated tracks.

Cool, I've been meaning to check them out as well. |
So, I downloaded some Paysage d'Hiver and I thought it was alright, I definitely like Darkspace waaaaaay more.
Any of you into Pagan Hammer? Pagan Wolves and Ode To My Fathers are both awesome. Ode To My Fathers album cover is the raising of the American flag at Iwo Jima. Pretty ****ing cool. |
