Mikael Akerfeldt campaigns for man-boy love to be LEGAL.

Seriously:

We entered Winter once again
Naked, freezing from my breath
Neath the lid all limbs tucked away

Kage 09-11-2006 04:25 PM

At least he's contienceous enough to not want to break the law.

Eliminator 09-11-2006 04:29 PM

I question Akerfeldt's intentions whilst looking through Opeth's lyrics:

In the wake of this relief
Shivering, longing for more
Insanity at it's peak
Love me to my death

Lost are days of Spring
You sighed and let me in
Keep the beast inside
Shackled within in my hide
screaming out too late..

That made me lol.

The best part is, your questioning is probably well-placed. Mikael would agree, most likely.
TGC is really cool. Granted, it's a bit repetitive, but then again, most of their stuff it.
Yeah fair do's I think its a good song and pretty evil sounding, just feels long to me. Doest'nt have as many dynamic changes or things ot keep me as interested as other Opeth songs.

I got a good laugh out of this. Too bad it's coming from the greatest song ever.

Shattered_Future 09-11-2006 06:36 PM

WHAT THE HELL IS IT?! I KNOW I've heard it more than once...

Wait, it's TLA.

Yeah, I probably should shut up about that song. I talk about it way too much.

...so I listened to Orchid last night and I have a new found respect for that album. And I adore "Under the Weeping Moon" now. The long ambient interlude rules.

Carrionshine 09-11-2006 11:55 PM

TLA was probably the best performance from Opeth last night. Mike hit that "The NIGHT!!!!!!!!!!!" part perfectly.

You mean to tell me you never respected that album?!

:p

Orchid's a top-notch album. All the songs are beautiful.
 I should wonder what kind of father-son relationship you had growing up.
Mine? Completely nonexistent. Never met the guy. However, I work at an Acute Psychiatric unit for troubled adolescents and young adults, and I've heard quite alot of stories, to say the least.

Not as much as I should have. I always thought it was just a lesser version of Morningrise, but now I realize that it's a really wonderful album.

Under the Weeping Moon owns so hard right now.

TojesDolan 09-12-2006 04:01 PM

I don't know why guys, but comparing all the Opeth albums, the ones I can listen without really getting bored are Morningrise and Ghost Reveries.

TBQH.

You no likey Orchid?

Tyr 09-12-2006 04:41 PM

Or Still Life? :(

Shattered_Future 09-12-2006 06:01 PM

Or Blackwater Park!?

TojesDolan 09-12-2006 06:08 PM

I enjoy them greatly but they just bore me at times. It's not that usual, though. But it happens every now and then. Particularly Blackwater Park.

Currently Deliverance could use a listen or two. Depends a lot on my mood and how much I've played them.
yeh

TojesDolan 09-12-2006 06:36 PM

We also accept those who dislike the band.

Otherwise we'd be a neverending evil wankfest.

On second thought I was serious about Agalloch. :-/
