If you like ATMP then I suggest the 1979 self title :thumb:
And yeah Clapton's 80's solo career was sub-par...I like his CD chronicles, he's older but the songs are still good, but I'm not sure what year most of those songs are from.
No need, have it, love it. Maybe Ill get Cloud Nine aswell. |
I got Blonde On Blonde, comment.
Nice :thumb:. One of Dylan's best. |

Yeah, it's great and all, but I really miss the rich organs that Highway 61 Revisited had :upset: |
I don't like any of the songs on that album up to "Hard Days Night"
Were they started writing about stuff other than 'wanting to hold someones hand# but being scared to ask, looking back on it, those songs were pretty gay.
don't be ignorant young man! those are still top notch pop songs! the lyrics may be simple, but the melodies were astonishing. i used to feel the same away about the beatles as you did. i found the early pop stuff to be lame and the old stuff to be weird. but then i realized how delightful their early stuff was, and eventually i was turned on to their older stuff. even now, i prefer the latter material, and i think i always will. but i still love the early stuff! it's almost like a different band. like i said before, their early stuff is still top notch! |
this thread rules. everything else on this board makes me vomit.

Yea, I recently heard Harrison doing Absolutely Sweet Marie. :thumb: |
The thing that annoyed me the most about Clapton's solo career was that he left the Yardbirds because they were getting "Too Poppy", but then he went on to release I Shot the Sheriff and other things like that.
Oh, I finally got The Who Sings My Generation on CD. |

Does anyone agree with this? |
I like Highway 61 more than Blonde on Blonde.

That's pretty much what I meant.
Oh, I finally got The Who Sings My Generation on CD.
About damn time. And does that "Shoot the duck and win a free Nintendo DS" ad piss anyone else off? I'm trying to listen to music and that ****ing laughing dog cuts in. |
I love them both.
|
Yes, I now hate Duck Hunt with a passion.

eh, yeah. There's not much else to the rock and metal board than this thread. I agree with the comment about the organs on Highway 61 ;) |
Blonde on Blonde is better though. IMO
Blonde on Blonde is better though. IMO
I dont think so IMO. |

Cloud 9 has 3 good songs on it, don't get it. Everyone (and they are correct in thinking this) thinks th ealbum is good because Tom Petty and Jeff Lynne are on it but they are wrong :( It's a disappointment |
About damn time.
Yea I know, I've had it on vinyl and I've been meaning to get it for about a year. |
Yes, I now hate Duck Hunt with a passion.
:\ It's not that good IMO, I'll put it this way- it is absolutely nothing like his earlier solo stuff. If you like the 80's sounding stuff like Traveling Wilburys and all of the Jeff Lynne produced albums in late 80s early 90s then you'd like it I guess. |
ok ok, i admit it, i'm a classic rock nut. i love led zeppelin, the beatles, the who, eric clapton, the doors, and so on. most of the bands i listen to broke up years before i was born. at 17, nearly every song on my playlist is older than me. but is it just my imagination, or is classic rock experiencing sort of a revival. i am running into an increasing number of classic rock fans my age. at my school (an all boys high school), the school newspaper took a poll of everyone's favorite genre and band. led zeppeling got 5th and the beatles got 6th, behind that rap crap. classic rock made up a large percent of ppls favorite genre. is this just by me, or are other ppl noticing this too?
yes i have noticed, but most of the kids are people who heard the radio version of pink floyd's the wall so they go out and buy a t-shirt and say zeppelin and floyd are their favorite bands. there are some people who actually know what they're talking about however, which is good. i love older bands like floyd, zeppelin, the doors, grateful dead..my dad got me into all that stuff. |

Your almost a year late. We need to ask Bonzo to delete his post so they will (n00bs) stop quoting this. |
I asked ken to add that this is now a discussion thread. He did but people might not understand that.
|
We need to do something this is really starting to annoy me.

Let's listen to Traffic. |
Is that a deliberte mis quote of the lyrics in your user title in reference to Badmoon?
|
I always wondered if badmoon took his name from the song or not.
