don't be ignorant young man! those are still top notch pop songs! the lyrics may be simple, but the melodies were astonishing.

i used to feel the same away about the beatles as you did. i found the early pop stuff to be lame and the old stuff to be weird. but then i realized how delightful their early stuff was, and eventually i was turned on to their older stuff. even now, i prefer the latter material, and i think i always will.

but i still love the early stuff! it's almost like a different band. like i said before, their early stuff is still top notch!

The thing that annoyed me the most about Clapton's solo career was that he left the Yardbirds because they were getting "Too Poppy", but then he went on to release I Shot the Sheriff and other things like that.

Everyone (and they are correct in thinking this) thinks th ealbum is good because Tom Petty and Jeff Lynne are on it but they are wrong :( It's a disappointment

If you like the 80's sounding stuff like Traveling Wilburys and all of the Jeff Lynne produced albums in late 80s early 90s then you'd like it I guess.

yes i have noticed, but most of the kids are people who heard the radio version of pink floyd's the wall so they go out and buy a t-shirt and say zeppelin and floyd are their favorite bands. there are some people who actually know what they're talking about however, which is good. i love older bands like floyd, zeppelin, the doors, grateful dead..my dad got me into all that stuff.
