Couldn't be more wrong.

:upset:

I like the chariot, but they are still overrated because their singer is from norma jean, so alot of people are saying theyre good for just that reason.

Exactly. See also: Circa Survive.

And I hate how kids think it's so cool, because its "chaos." Norma Jean at least had a sense of communication and tightness. The Chariot is so stupid.

Mute Print 07-22-2005 09:55 PM

Good point, it can't just be four or five musicians doing their own thing entirely, or else it wouldn't really be a band...it would just be five acts going on at once.

Oh man, circa survive is what the french would call 'le terrible'.

After i listen through war all the time after i buy it tomorrow, ill make a thursday thread.

Understanding In a Crash 07-22-2005 09:58 PM

Circa Survive is great :upset:

cobert 07-22-2005 10:00 PM

The singer just sounds so....monotone. Its just boring to me.

I would post in it. Though you should listen to WATT more than once before making judgements.

Dont worry, i listen to every cd i buy more than once before saying anything. the first time i lsiten to a CD, no matter what it is, its always terrible to me. Then i listen to it again, maybe 2 more times, and by then i should know if a CD is any good.

xcbmetalcorex 07-22-2005 10:04 PM

Word. I thought WATT was spectacular at first but as I listened I slowly realized it's flaws and came to my stance today.

Hopesfall is incredible.

Amazing band. Awesome live act.

cobert 07-22-2005 10:08 PM

I havent heard anything from hopesfall. What genre are they?

xcbmetalcorex 07-22-2005 10:09 PM

Post-Hardcore. You'd probably like them.

Mute Print 07-22-2005 10:09 PM

I'll upload one of their albums in the YSI thread if you'd like.

I dont download music. Now get away from me you filthy pirate.

Ive heard of them before, i cant remember where. Ill see, most post-hardcore i like.

xcbmetalcorex 07-22-2005 10:12 PM

If you don't mind a lot of screaming Cob, I'd say go for The Satellite Years. Really epic and spacey, but very screamy. A Types is more laid back, less screaming but still beautiful and atmospheric.

 I'm not sure I could live without downloading a little music. I wouldn't know half the bands I do now, because I don't have a lot of money to spend on CDs, and even if I did, a lot of the local CD stores don't carry some of the bands I'm looking for.

Nah, im fine with screaming. Ive been listening to the locust alot lately, actually. Ill put those on my 'to buy' list.

Thats the price you pay for not downloading: Not being open to alot of music. I actually dont know how i know alot of the bands i do, i dont even listen to the radio or watch music on TV, i just go and buy albums then look online for bands like that if i liked it.

cobert 07-22-2005 10:19 PM

What?

xcbmetalcorex 07-22-2005 10:20 PM

Yeah, I've never been a downloader. It might sound cheesy, but I feel more intimate with the music when I have the CD. Plus I feel like I'm supporting the band and I like the authenticity of a CD.

I guess I could do that, but I'd rather just d/l the music and then make up for it by spending some money to go see the bands in concerts. I'd much rather save my money so I can see a band live, and its been a pretty good decision, because I have seen sooo many good bands.
What?
I don't download either :thumb: , I used too...

Now I have a job... and 387 CD's (without counting vinyl)

xcbmetalcorex 07-22-2005 10:24 PM

What vinyl do you have?

cobert 07-22-2005 10:25 PM
I don't download either :thumb: , I used too...

I see.

I dont have nearly as many CD's, and i dont have any vinyls because there no place to buy them around here, and even if there was, id have to go to my friends to listen to them.

Mute Print 07-22-2005 10:26 PM

387 CDs...that's a lot. I'm buying more CDs now, I just downloaded them originally to get myself into the bands. I've even bought a few of the CDs that I already downloaded so I could have the actual disc, album booklet, etc.

Understanding In a Crash 07-22-2005 10:27 PM

Yeah I have everything from, David Bowie to Taking Back Sunday to Rage Against The Machine to God Forbid :thumb:
