RCA 07-20-2005 11:39 AM
I might go see Charlie and the Chocolate Factory tonight. Is it any good?
I like it better than the original. Sure, it has it's share of "WTF?" moments, but Burton did a good job on this one. I'd recommend it, but it's not a must-see.

Steerpike 07-20-2005 11:42 AM

Got my computer back.

I'd go see Charlie and the Chocolate Factory just to see the Oompa-Loompa song sequence that's supposed to be hair metal.

That sequence was amusing.

Lord Abortion 07-20-2005 11:46 AM

I'm back from band practice, which was surprisingly good since it was just me and shadow-stalker on drums, there will be more on friday, we did rather well and I only messed up like twice, I forgot half the lyrics order in PARANOID, for god's sake...

Anyway, I have all bodom studio work on my comp now,

Madey- I work at safeway/morrissons too

macs are crappy for games unfortuanately

and I'm going to see charlie and the chocolate factory for definite, should be great

Dr. Jake Destructo 07-20-2005 12:07 PM

I have an HP. It's worked pretty good for me, as far as gaming and hard drive space.

2 GHz AMD Athalon processor
512 mb Memory
80 GB hard drive
64 MB dedicated VRAM

That's what it says on the tower. :-D

NP: Arcturus- For To End Yet Again

zomg this entire album is freaking amazing.

RCA 07-20-2005 12:12 PM

Arcturus \m/

I was turned to a band called Sear Bliss yesterday, and they rule. They use brass instruments in their songs, and it really adds a totally different atmosphere to the music. I really want to buy an album of theirs.

Dr. Jake Destructo 07-20-2005 12:48 PM

 I'm listening to For to End Yet Again, and I love how it goes from the demented circus beat, to that jungle drum section, then to the signature Arcturus sound.

Then some piano.

And well, pretty much everything other unique thing also happens after this.

What kind of band is it, RCA?

RCA 07-20-2005 12:50 PM

Melodic Black Metal, and damn good MBM at that. I'll link you to their site:

Official Site

I'm in love with the song As The Bliss Is Burning.
3 most important words you will ever hear:

Get. A. Mac.

Can't get easier than that... :thumb:
Macs are crap and useless nowadays. Even the majority of the people who used macs before, i.e. video, graphic, and sound editors, have been switching over to windows in the past few years. Due to the rate that technology has been increasing, the hardware end of a standard PC can be such insanity, and macs cannot compare.

Plus lets not forget that as far as software goes, macs do not have much.

However, you should never really buy a name brand computer, you just get ripped off for a piece of junk. Your best bet is to either build it yourself, have someone you know who knows how to do it build one for you, or go to a local PC repair shop that builds computers.

Dr. Jake Destructo 07-20-2005 01:38 PM

When I was sitting in a one of my friend's college classes over spring break, their instructor was talking about one of Mac's newest computers, which has a 2 metabyte hard drive. He was astounded by how much farther ahead of everyone else Mac is.

Then it occured to me.

WHO NEEDS TWO METABYTES!?!?!

Just for anyone wondering, meta is one thousand giga's, I think. This would be like owning a mini-van with 500 horsepower- Way more than you're going to need for anything.

Lord Abortion 07-20-2005 01:41 PM

2000 gig HD
what's the point?

I love octavarium on first listen
imagine how good it'll be after a month or two of solid listening....

clearvision 07-20-2005 01:43 PM

Pro Tools is still on mac, therefore the music industry uses mac.

Hello thread!
Didn't do much today. Worked this morning after guitar lesson. Wrote a really strange Burton-Vincent like short story in rhyme a couple days ago at one in the morning. It was a weird urge, but the story is ok. It's just odd. Hate the ending.

How's everyone today?

Yeah, you can YSI it, IM, it or e-mail it to me, it's up to you.

Edit: My favorite parts were the Umpa Lumpa songs

Ok great. I'll just send the files then.

Edit: Leah, every time I try to open the files I get an error that says "Could not find project data folder" Any idea why?

Did you extract everything to a file on your desktop (or somewhere easily accessible)? That happens when all of the files aren't in place or something. Let me know if it persists and I'll send everything again; maybe I missed something.

Alrighty. Let me try again.

Crap. :upset:

I spent an hour and a half downloading Meshuggah's "I", and I got banninated by the bastard! I only got the first 8:47 of it, but man, it's still mind boggling.:-| That clean part all out of nowhere is awesome.

You said you already have Audacity right? Was it the version that someone uploaded on this board or from somewhere else? I'll check the files I'm sending and make sure everything is ok there.

Nay, a terabyte is 1000 gigs, so a metabyte is probably a million gig. Which is insane, and totally unnecessary, at least for the next few years (i mean i can remember back 5 years ago thinking 80 gb was more than enough, how wrong i was).

Mkay. I'm going to send the files again, and the installation for Audacity (my version) with it.

EDIT: sent audacity, the files will be sent soon with megaupload

Moses 07-20-2005 02:35 PM

My band decided on taking a break from our own stuff and doing a bunch of covers.

These are the songs we're covering....

My Own Summer (shove it) by the Deftones
The Trooper by Iron Maiden ( transposed by me to drop c  )
More Human than Human by White Zombie
Spiders by System of a Down
Sugar by System of a Down
Thunderkiss 65 by White Zombie
Death Blooms by Mudvayne
Aenima by Tool

I got a 20 gig harddrive...

I mean, my freaking IPOD has that much space on it.

I desperately need to convince my parents to get a new computer...

Lord Abortion 07-20-2005 02:42 PM

Iron Maiden-The trooper
maiden- futureal
sabbath-N.I.B
cannibal corpse- hammer smashed face
megadeth- hangar 18
Iced earth- burning times
cradle of filth- her ghost in the fog
