Hmm. The Four Horsemen would be pretty immense too.

fenderbender89 05-30-2005 01:18 PM

The new Metallica song Im learning is Bleeding Me it is a very good song and has a kick *** solo too.
I need to go down half a step but I dont want too I still want to play all the standard tuning Metallica songs too. One, MOP, Creaping Death, Fade to Black...

sounds the same in standard.

Endless Obsession 05-30-2005 02:21 PM

The Four Horsemen would be awesome, but it would be hard. Thats my vote. I dont think The Thing that should not be is a good idea. It gets boring.

And also can anyone who wants to post a recording and then some1 chooses the best one?

FlyingPaul_83 05-30-2005 02:26 PM

What kind of recording programs do you guys use?

fatbandit 05-30-2005 02:27 PM

It might be a little hard, but you have to beat what the other official threads are putting out...

:smash:

Thor 05-30-2005 02:27 PM

We have a good chance at winning because there are so many Metallica fans on MX.

OK, we need to begin voting. Everyone please say which song you want for us to cover.

Endless Obsession 05-30-2005 02:28 PM

We should find out what song we are doing and figure out the BPM so everyone can set a metronome when they record. It would be incredibly helpful.

My Votes

1. The Four Horseman
2 Creeping death
seek and destrow

Deth 05-30-2005 02:29 PM

*Sneaks behind Metal_Head and shanks him* Long Live the Opeth Thread! We'll destroy you!

How dare you! I'm the one that's running this show! :)

*shanks Creeping_Deth*

FlyingPaul_83 05-30-2005 02:34 PM

1. The four horsemen
2.Creeping death
3.Welcome home(sanitarium)

Deth 05-30-2005 02:45 PM

In help to you guys, out of the three FlyingPaul has, I would say Sanitarium, but your choice.

Ow, that shank hurt.

fatbandit 05-30-2005 02:45 PM

Well. Why not just record along to the CD? Then everybody has the right tempo.

RustedPieces 05-30-2005 02:46 PM

I would say The Four Horsemen. It's fun, fast, sounds good and shouldn't be too hard to do a good job on.

Thor 05-30-2005 02:47 PM
Well. Why not just record along to the CD? Then everybody has the right tempo.
That's what I was thinking. That would make the most sense.

spenser93 05-30-2005 02:47 PM

1. fight fire with fire
2. battery
3. trapped under ice
4. wiplash
5. blackened

Endless Obsession 05-30-2005 03:19 PM

I change my vote to Creeping Death first because if we do the 4 horsemen some pansy from the Megadeth forum will cry about it.

Also we should all agree on one tab of it so we all know we are playing the same thing.

spenser93 05-30-2005 03:21 PM
I change my vote to Creeping Death first because if we do the 4 horsemen some pansy from the Megadeth forum will cry about it.
lmao, how about fight fire with fire?

fatbandit 05-30-2005 03:27 PM

Well, the tabs don't have to correspond. I know I've learnt a lot by ear, and improvise little bits and fills, so as long as its in the same key, and the guitars are in tune with each other, there's no problem IMO.

Fight Fire With Fire doesn't show off enough to me...

Well it depends what instrument u play. If the two guitars play it slightly differently it will mess it up though.

fatbandit 05-30-2005 03:33 PM

I suppose so. For harmonies and the like especially... I'm just used to playing bass and being left to my own devices I suppose.

Have you thought of doing One?

are u dumb, he sed megadeth kids would cry cuz dave mustaine helped write it and he got kicked out of metallica, and it was still put on kill em all.

TojesDolan 05-30-2005 04:41 PM

What about The call of ktulu? That'd save some trouble with the singer issue.

Huber 05-30-2005 04:42 PM

If you guys give me the song you want to do, I can try and go record something. I got a little bit of playing time right now.

Thor 05-30-2005 04:44 PM
If you guys give me the song you want to do, I can try and go record something. I got a little bit of playing time right now.
Do Seek and Destroy! Quick!

We would still have a good shot at winning with that song.

Huber 05-30-2005 04:44 PM

Alright, I'll see what I can do.

Endless Obsession 05-30-2005 05:32 PM

Okay so its Seek and Destroy?
are u dumb, he sed megadeth kids would cry cuz dave mustaine helped write it and he got kicked out of metallica, and it was still put on kill em all.
*Wrote all of it.

I vote The Four Horsemen. I doubt you'd get Megadeth fans 'crying' about it. It's a good song, so cover it.
*Wrote all of it.

They would be annoyed though cause Mustaine wrote basically all of it.

Yeah he wrote it even before he joined Metallica. And I agree, no one is going to care if you do Four Horsemen.

flamesofbodom 05-30-2005 05:42 PM

Who cares? If it means that much do something of RTL or MoP

ThrashMaster27 05-30-2005 05:49 PM

Wait, I missed all the discussion. Has everyone already said what they're gonna be doing? Cause if The Four Horsemen comes into play, I wouldn't mind lending a hand.

RustedPieces 05-30-2005 05:53 PM

Yeah I'm pretty sure all the positions are already taken. You should help out on the Megadeth thread. Do The Mechanix :p

Thor 05-30-2005 05:54 PM

Here is what we are doing:

Seek and Destroy

No more complaining. It's what we are doing. We are already recording.

RustedPieces 05-30-2005 05:58 PM

Is there going to be specific judges, or is it just going to be a vote with everyone for the songs?

Endless Obsession 05-30-2005 06:17 PM

I called rhythm guitar like on Thursday. Am i in?

Huber 05-30-2005 06:30 PM

Okay guys. I only got to do one take, so it's kind of sloppy. If I get a chance to re-do it I'll jump at it. I had never jammed to this song before so once again it's pretty sloppy. If anyone else does another by all means use there track, I'm not very happy with this one.

It's Ok, but it will do. If you ever get to record again, that's fine. I can deal with this one though. I'll try and have the bass done in the next day or so.

Did you play with the exact tempo of the song?

Thor 05-30-2005 06:42 PM
I called rhythm guitar like on Thursday. Am i in?
yeah, I said that you were doing all guitar work. Is that ok?
