You ain't a loser.

Rattlehead 03-21-2005 03:01 PM
yeah i highly doubt that.Probably just someone trying to make a bad joke
yeah. u no i think anger's riffs are ok, its jus ther isnt 1 solo in the hole album.
if they dont go bk 2 their old stuf then i would jus like the insane solos 2 come bk. kirk sort of went from the insane solos of r.t.l., k.e.a., a.j.f.a. and m.o.p. and b album to the coolie non- tap solos of load/reload to the non existant solos of anger.

Rattlehead 03-21-2005 03:04 PM
I pray to God it is. Metallica will be officially as crappy as Good Charlotte in my mind if they do a thing like that. The older stuff can only redeem the band so many times.
well said. lars drumming aint cra'p tho, but u seem 2 av made up ur mind...

ThrashMaster27 03-21-2005 03:04 PM

He had 3 albums of decent solos if you ask me. Ride The Lightning, Master of Puppets and ...And Justice For All. Black Album they got simplified on, still 'alright' but nothing special. Kill 'Em All aren't his Leads, so they don't count.

Rattlehead 03-21-2005 03:07 PM
im pretty sure ive only heard the name "Re Anger" used on these forums and no where else...so i dont what that kid is talking about
hope that that is so...

Rattlehead 03-21-2005 03:10 PM
Just a little loser with nothing else to say.
no, not really. he said he heard it from somewhere. that somewhere being a reliable source or not is irrelevant, hes jus tha messenger boy.
he wos actully trying to list fifty people better than lars, which is realy annoyin. lars is real underated.
Rattlehead 03-21-2005 03:15 PM

didnt think so... u may b rite i may b rite, hoo cares. cant b a'ssed to go back n check it out

ThrashMaster27 03-21-2005 03:17 PM

Yes, he was naming 50 people better than Joey Jordison, not Lars. No doubt that would be an even easier task.

Rattlehead 03-21-2005 03:20 PM

but when i got to the end of every song on anger without havin herd a solo, i thawt bob rock wos goin mad. the nxt generation needs to no how insane a guitarist he actually can be.
wot is SKOM actually about? is it real life bout tallica? maybe its got clues to their nxt album.

Carlos Santana 03-21-2005 03:23 PM
What....? Thats interesting.
Is that the slow part in the song, with the first solo?
Because they never play that part in their concerts.

AND IT KICKS SO MUCH ***, pisses me off that they never play it. The solo is great also. I love just playing that slow rythm riff on my guitar while I'm reading or doing anything with a guitar around me (that and verse for fade to black).
the solo is overdubbed though thats why

Rattlehead 03-21-2005 03:36 PM

oh wel sorry. AND WOOD PEOPLE STOP BEIN SO CYNICAL ABOUT LARS, PLEASE? hes not only a member of metallica, what was and what hopefully will re-become the best hvy metal band in the world, (with only 1 or 2 exceptions) , but he is the founder of metallica. AND HE MUST BE DOIN SUMMAT CLEVER WITH HIS DRUMMSTIX COS HES NOT BEEN REPLACED SINCE BEFORE MEGADETHS LEAD SINGER WAS REPLACE D BY KIRK AS THE LEAD GUITARIST!!! his beats fit wit the music they play, an thats all they need.

\m/Pete\m/ 03-21-2005 03:38 PM

Oh christ...

I'm a huge Metallica fan and I know Lars isn't anything special on drums. Lars is anything but underrated. If you want a real thrash drummer, check out Dave Lombardo.

/awaits flaming from fanboys

ThrashMaster27 03-21-2005 03:40 PM

So? His beats fit fine with the music, yes. He's still not technically brilliant. He got booted out of Metal Church cause he was so amazingly bad. Even Ron McGovney said he was terrible. I've been playing Drums for about a month now and I find his beats to be amongst some of the easiest to master. I'm not being cynical, he's fine being the Drummer of Metallica, I don't automatically have to like his Drumming.

Or Gene Hoglan, Charlie Benante, Paul Bostoph, Tom Hunting...not to mention the several million European Thrash drummers.

jaymz_is_god 03-21-2005 03:42 PM

I never said Lars style of play didn't fit Metallica's music. I was stating to all the fanboys that there are better drummers than Lars.

hoo cares? hes metallicas founder and drummer. you only need to put a beat to the tracks anyway, an he wrote the majority of tracks wit james. respect him, if you are a metallica fan. no one asks you 2 say hes incredible on the drums.

no, u dont. but as i say, his role is as tallicas founder and joint song writer, as well as drummer, crap or not

No, he doesn't write the tracks. He composes them or some crap, it's in the inlays, but he doesn't write the lyrics or music. I don't have to respect him either, I don't respect Kerry King, but I still like his Guitaring.

Drums are major parts of songs, good drumming is key for me.

I didn't say anything about not respecting him. I respect what he's done and what he's achieved but there are better drummers than Lars Ulrich.

Actually, yes, he did. He wrote tons of the lyrics.

And of course he didn't write the guitar parts, he's not the guitarist.

And yes to everyone in this thread, there are better drummers than Lars

ThrashMaster27 03-21-2005 04:28 PM

Lyrics on what albums? I know for a fact he doesn't write any on Master of Puppets or ...And Justice For All.

Joe 03-21-2005 04:30 PM

ah where'd you hear this? i hear james and lars are the main lyric writers (my source is some kind of monster)

ThrashMaster27 03-21-2005 04:32 PM

Well, the fact that it says all lyrics by James Hetfield in the Master of Puppets and ...And Justice For All inlays. The rest of the albums don't have any indication towards either. I was assuming James was the sole lyric writer.
