The only Nirvana I can stand is the unplugged in New York album, I like it.

The rest is far too angsty-teen for me
I don't even know if I can stand the unplugged stuff.
Kurt was such a retard yet I used to think he was a brilliant guitarist :upset:

GenuineImitation 02-25-2006 02:01 PM

Come as You Are, Lithium, Rape Me and Heart Shaped Box are my favorite Nirvana songs. The rest are so so.

Lord Abortion 02-25-2006 02:09 PM

Heart shaped box is still one of the best euphamisms I have ever heard...it's one that even women would like, I think.

Arucard 02-25-2006 02:12 PM

Dark Tranquility for me = slightly better version of In Flames.

And, IMO In Flames blow goats.

Jev 02-25-2006 02:13 PM

Ooh, so if I like In Flames I'll love Dark Tranquility?

0MFG VR N0T TRVE KVLT LIEK MEEEEE!!1

The In Flames/Dark Tranquillity comparisson works for the old In Flames stuff... it's kinda similar, though In Flames was always on the heavier side, Dark Tranquillity is like the quieter mellower older brother, and Soilwork is like the angry chaotic younger brother (they're more similar to In Flames later stuff). In Flames is somewhere in between. I like to think of At The Gates as the psychotic eldest brother with those four bands too :D.

Arucard 02-25-2006 02:15 PM

Eleventeen, your an American Metal fag lawl

i agree with the At The Gates thing. Its really gay that they are really the only good Gothenburg band really.

gillygan 02-25-2006 02:15 PM

In Flames nd Dark Tranquility sound way different to me...

Hey, I'm not the one that listens to hardcore...close proximity to another certain genre that has a reputation for such activities.

Jev 02-25-2006 02:44 PM

I'm up London and I was forced to leave my Ibanez at home  I'm playing a Fender Squier right now :( I wonder if my Uncle will let me use his Rickenbacker...

Hardcore is good son, just listen to some Minor Threat sucka.

Joe listens to hardcore too (probably not nearly as much as he used to) :D.

and there is good emo, just listen to Circle Takes The Square or Sikth.

I really hate that, when southerners say "up to London"... it's not north of anywhere sensible!!

Actually it's 16 miles south of where I live. No idea why I say "up London". When I'm somewhere other than home I normally say I'm up there.

My first guitar was a squire. I felt like breaking it every time I picked it up.

That would be like somebody saying I'm "up in France" or "I'm up in Mexico" or "I'm up in Kentucky" XD.

My first guitar was a Samick, now I'm playing on a cheaper Ibanez that is much nicer, Ibanez is a quality company.

I've thrown mine a good few times. I still have it for emergencies, such as my Ibanez exploding.

GenuineImitation 02-25-2006 02:53 PM

Im just saving it because it was my first axe. I would never through a guitar away, even if it does suck.

That was something iI first noticed in a Harry Potter book, actually.

Harry Potter is kinda corny, but it's a good way to get into literature, it's a kinda cool story.

Yeah I kinda see what you mean... Memories...

Lord Abortion 02-25-2006 02:56 PM

Yeah, it's way overrated as literature, but fun anyways.

Definately, real fantasy on the otherhand... like Dragonlance... now that's good reading.

GenuineImitation 02-25-2006 03:00 PM

The only fantasy I have ever read was Lord of the Rings. I usually read mystery/conspiracy, millitary and espionage books.

Lord Abortion, I could be wrong, but didnt you say you hated Harry Potter ?

I hate the big fuss that's made over it, because it's not all that good.

I like the books themselves though.

I'm going to read Dragonlance soon, I'm getting a friend of mine to lend me them
