No, admittedly. The primary reason I want to learn it is because my interest in World War II history influences my fiction stories that I write, and it would be easier to write for German characters if I knew the language. There's a story idea I have in particular that involves, basically, an American and German trapped alone together, and thus knowing the language is imperitive, since the German isn't supposed to know any English. I've seen and heard a lot of German, though, and can usually understand some basic phrases.
