Really? I liked the second one more than the first. My favorite part of the first one is where Bourne jumps down like 5 stories, and lands on the dead body. It's wicked. :p
I thought the first one was great. And when the second one was coming out I was like "I have to see this movie" then I did and I didn't like it. But the first one was sweet.

ATM 07-19-2005 06:26 PM

I cranked the gain, turned the mids and highs to 0, and put the bass to 4. It still sounds like anus.

Dr. Jake Destructo 07-19-2005 06:30 PM

Ok, I shall listen to it when I get back from work. :-D

RCA 07-19-2005 06:31 PM

Man, I have the worst sunburn ever. :(

How is everybody?

Lunch 07-19-2005 06:32 PM

I managed to postpone my test, but I'm still worried about it.

Sorry to keep talking about it though.

RCA 07-19-2005 06:34 PM

What kind of test?

Lunch 07-19-2005 06:35 PM

A drug test I have to take in order to get a job.

RCA 07-19-2005 06:36 PM
A drug test I have to take in order to get a job.
Oh, I see. I take it you're at risk of failing? ;)
A drug test I have to take in order to get a job.
Why would you be worried about that.

Dragunov, thats sucks about your sunburn. I get burnt all the time it sucks because you can't really sleep

Lunch 07-19-2005 06:40 PM

Yea, I smoked a bit about a week ago, it really wasn't that much but I'm still worried about it. I've been drinking so much water last night and today.

Mr. Squiggles 07-19-2005 06:41 PM
Yea, I smoked a bit about a week ago, it really wasn't that much but I'm still worried about it. I've been drinking so much water last night and today.
Yeah, it takes about a week for that stuff to ware off.

Lunch 07-19-2005 06:42 PM

Usually more, but considering how little I smoked and how much water I've had I think I should be in good shape.

Mr. Squiggles 07-19-2005 06:45 PM
Usually more, but considering how little I smoked and how much water I've had I think I should be in good shape.
Silent Death 07-19-2005 06:48 PM

Yeah man, sunburns really suck, and I burn easily.

Cain 07-19-2005 07:31 PM
Cain, what's up with your user title?
You'd have to read "The Bourne Identity" to really understand. Essentially, it is the method by which Bourne reconstructs who he once was: Delta was his code-name in the Medusa legion in Vietnam (a black ops death squad) and Cain is his alias, an assassin so powerful that he threatens Carlos the Jackal, Europe's most lethal terrorist. In the book, Bourne's CIA job was to pose as the assassin Cain and threaten Carlos' ego, so that Carlos would be drawn out to kill Cain, and so the CIA would trap Carlos and bring him to justice. The method of remembrance drilled into Bourne's head was "Delta is for Charlie and Charlie is for Cain," in reference to the naming system used in Vietnam, and then for remembering his mission it was "Charlie is for Carlos (since 'Charlie' was slang for Vietcong Communist soldiers, and Carlos was rumored to be a Russian-trained assassin) and Carlos is for Cain."

You'd really have to read it, though. The plot is much more labyrinthine and VERY different from the movie.

RCA 07-19-2005 07:33 PM

I've only seen the movies, which I liked. I'll have to read the books sometime.

I ordered "The Plot Against America" by the way. :)

The books suddenly sound a lot more interesting than I thought they'd be from the films.

Cain 07-19-2005 08:27 PM
The books suddenly sound a lot more interesting than I thought they'd be from the films.
They're essentially Cold War spy stories in the vein of "Six Days of the Condor." They are extremely complex and labyrinthine in plot structure, however. The plot is much different in the novel: Bourne's task was to draw out Carlos the Jackal by posing as an assassin named Cain, but the mission failed: one of Carlos' compatriots shot him in the skull and he got amnesia. The book is Bourne trying to find out who he is while escaping not just the CIA henchmen (who think that Bourne has turned--it's shaky in the movie WHY exactly they try to kill Bourne for failing his mission) but also from Carlos' vast network of informers and assassins.

The whole series is like that. The filmmakers came up with the plot to the Bourne Supremacy movie out of thin air, it seems, because in the book, Bourne resumes his original identity (David Webb) and teaches school, until the CIA kidnaps Marie to get Bourne to go to Kowloon in Hong Kong, where Carlos has assassinated high-ranking Chinese "taipans" and blamed it on Jason Bourne (who was widely known throughout the Far East during Vietnam, when Bourne was cultivating Cain's reputation by taking credit for kills he did not commit). The CIA traps Bourne into going on a mission for them, until it becomes apparent that Carlos has orchestrated the whole thing to get Bourne once and for all. COMPLETELY different plot from the movie.

I'd check out the books. They're difficult to read, somewhat, but very intriguing and savvy to intelligence operations and organizations.

Thor 07-19-2005 08:35 PM

I just heard my first Cryptopsy song and was blown away. Anyone else ever have this happen to them?

Dr. Jake Destructo 07-19-2005 08:46 PM

Yeah, two times today. First by Meshuggah's Corridor of Chameleons, and second by Arcturus' album The Sham Mirror.

:amaze:<--That's how I looked.

Chris- Okay, your tone didn't sound too bad. It was hard to tell how thick it was compared to mine, due to the difference in what we're comparing, but it really didn't sound too bad. If anything, I would kick back on the gain a bit, due to the low quality. It happens to the best of us. :p If you want a better sound, try placing the mic in different places. How close do you usually have it to your amp? Oh, and also, keep in mind that I was playing drop D, so that could be why it sounded so thick.

magicbus 07-19-2005 09:27 PM

I'm a little pissed off because my team lost all three Ultimate Frisbee games. I was really tired today, but I was still trying harder then most of my teammates. And the other guys were jackasses about winning, otherwise I wouldn't care as much. Now I'm chilling out to the Beatles, so it's alright.

Dragunov, sunburns blow. The last one I had hurt whenever moved my arms. It was right on my shoulder and chest.

Lunch, good luck with the test.

RCA 07-19-2005 09:32 PM

Sear Bliss own, and my sunburn still feels christcrushingly painful.

Jason, what did you think of the jazz I uploaded?

Riva 07-20-2005 12:03 AM

I really enjoyed it. It is more than Jazz, though, right? I mean, it has elements besides the usual jazz. I liked Ballad For The Unborn greatly.

Mekkalayakay 07-20-2005 12:05 AM

I got out La Masquerade Infinale after a long time of looking at it on my massive cd rack.

I really should have bought Sham Mirrors. :'(
