Putting the soft parade 6th was a mistake, soft parade is awesome.
I know I love it but its not "true" Doors. The Doors should've never sounded like that. Kreiger was putting out some brilliant songs though.("Tell all the people" and "Touch Me") |
The only really good, remotely famous albums by them are Tarkus and Trilogy
But have you heard it? |

why don't you think they should've sounded like that? |
Compare it to their other albums. Jim was in a songwritting slump and they were only sounding like that because the Beatles were doing it. (instrumental)
|
what do you mean?
I have Morrison Hotel and LA Women. I bet I could get Strange Days, S/t, and the soft parade for about $35.
what is MX fathers of time?
It was a classic rock clan that we had going in this thread a while back. We deiceed it was a dumb idea and so it dispanded. We don't need stupid avatars and user titles to show our loves of classic rock, we just need to post in this thread. |

Nah. Okay lets take a look at the album. It starts with tell all the people and touch me which are two not completely dissimilar songs. these songs are doors songs, they sound like some of the doors more groovin songs, except they have replaced alot of the keyboard groovin has been replaced with brass instruments. Then in the middle there's some sort of slide guitar, jazzish drums and slightly darker vocals and keyboards, but that's not uncommon to the doors. Then we've got the stuff where the music just changes completely in a couple of the songs at the end. Although this is not a completely common thing in doors music it certainly helped make the soft parade and is not a completely undoorsy thing to do. And you've got wishful sinful which is an undoubtedly, indebatebly doors song, and a great one at that. |

My point was that instrumental is not the Doors style. It was a very good album but again it just wasn't The Doors. |
Anyone here into Crimson?
|

I disagree but meh. Crimson is awesome. |
I have finally found Wake of the Flood !

Awesome avatar and user title,

It seems like most will tell you that Highway 61 Revisited is one of Dylan's best, and I agree.

Show respect to the clan. We stopped it because we wanted new avatars and usertitles. |
Today I got Blues Traveler-s/t, Four
Get Travelers & Thieves, that's the best one. |

No avatar talk in the thread please.
Eh, people say that Highway 61 Revisited is Dylan's best. It has some good songs and then it has the amazo0rific Like A Rolling Stone. Many will argue that blood on the tracks or Blond On Blond are better. It's alllll a matter of opinion. It's also a known fact that all magazines must reguard Highway 61 Revisited as Dylan's best. 'Tiss the law. |
Get Travelers & Thieves, that's the best one.
I thought you said Four was thier best  Travelers&Thieves was far too expensive anyway*. *I didn't want to pay 4 bucks more |
Well, I lied to you then. Because Travelers & Thieves > Four.
And I have no comment on the price, I bought mine all used. |
Used is the way to go ;) I got all of my Jeff Healey albums used (exept for hell to pay).
Who in their right mind wouldn't want a jeff Healey album anymore?!? :( Badmoon, have you got any of his albums yet> You said you would get around to it. |
I bought mine used too for $5.99 each, but Travelers&Thieves was $9.99.

$9.99 isn't that bad. I was under the impression that it was about $20 |
Hey, I'm listening to 'Live and Dangerous' tis good, what are your thoughts on lizzy ????
It's awesome, probbably one of the best live albums out there, the version of "Jail Break" And "Boys Are Back In Town" are fantastic, brilliant album. |
$9.99 isn't that bad. I was under the impression that it was about $20
It's actualy a good price, but I'm a cheap bastard and I also wanted to get Rock of Ages on vinyl and I wouldn't have been able to get ti if I got Travelers&Thieves. |

I chose those two mainly becuase of Masters of War and Queen Jane Approximately, I never get sick of those songs. Edit. I made my Top 25 R&M poster list. |
Rock not Roll and Others: I have samples to give out in about 40 minutes.
I have to go to guitar lessons. The band I am sampling is a strange mix of Punk and Folk in a way. You have probably heard their name. |
Punk and Folk? Flogging Molly?
