I like Slayer, Megadeth, Metallica (pre Black Album) as much as the next thrash addict...

But is it just me or are Children of Bodom basically becoming a thrash band with power metal leaning? (i.e the keyboard wizardy) Blooddrunk seems much more thrash orientated than previous outings with Laiho and co.

Children Of Bodom are beyond gay.

I like it a lot more than I did at first. I'd still give it a 3-3.5/5.

In my rating scale, 3.5 is an album that I consider "alright", but not special. 3 is mediocre.

Well, I still have yet to listen to it in full now. My rating was at a 2.5-3 earlier.

The songs aren't as slow as I remembered them. If I quit expecting them to go really fast, it wasn't as bad.

Yeah I think my problem was that I was expecting a rip-roaring thrash attack on my speakers at 200 mph. That and I really liked "More Than Meets the Eye".

Is it just me or are there very few solos on the album?

Well, there's one in every song but not multiple, if that's what you mean...

Oh...they must not be memorable then. I can only remember there being like two on the album.

I love how every Testament show now is being billed as "The first show here in X years with the original lineup!!"

but on a side note, are any of the new Exodus albums any good? Shovel Headed Kill Machine, Tempo of the Damned...etc

About half of Tempo is good. The rest is weak.

New Exodus is ****. Get Bonded By Blood immediately if you haven't already.

All new thrash just sounds generic. Even if were to come out in 1985 it'd still sound generic.

Just got the new Headhunter album, sounds like the old ones. Schmier sounds funny on the 18 & Life cover though.
