Did I totally miss something? What is all this talk about a new site? By the way Junkie, pretty much all AC/DC is good starting material.
I've learned the main AC/DC riffs (Back In Black, Highway To Hell, Dirty Deeds, a few more). So are the AC/DC solos easy?

Eitri Is Berserk 02-10-2005 10:46 PM

Gilmour, have you heard David Gilmours solo album, About Face?

Permanent Solution 02-10-2005 10:46 PM
About Face? If so yes it is.

If it is his s/t I dunno, I havent heard it :-/
Quoted for Eitri.
CD Reviews is now Sputnik.

Especially legato Thunderstruck ;)

Nah, AC/DC solos can be pretty tough, but most of the rhythm and such is really easy.
Oh I guess I did notice that Reviews tab, just didn't give it any thought. As far as AC/DC you are correct, I was referring to the main rhythems, not the solos.

I've never ever been able to nail Thunderstruck. It's so weird...you just have those stumbling blocks that you theoretically should be able to play, but can't. Like I can do your Joe Satriani legato run ripping down the neck no problem, but not that little triad ditty. Very strange. I guess my muscle memory is just set in a way that makes that more difficult for me.

xxxRoCkJuNkiExxx 02-10-2005 10:49 PM
If you want to work on your bends in solos, try "Another Brick in the Wall Pt. 2". The ones Zep recommended are good too.
Thanks.

Eitri Is Berserk 02-10-2005 10:49 PM

Oops, I didn't catch that, I just went and found the title. I wish I could get my dads record player to work. Hes got some Zepplin on vinyl, Live Evil (Black Sabbath with Dio on vocals.) He has The final cut on vinyl.. So much that I wanna hear..

No matter how much I try to force it on myself, there seems to be some subconscious quirk running in my mind that refuses to use the pinky when playing. It hinders me quite badly. I don't have a problem if I purposely think to use it, but If I'm randomyl playing I default to my ring finger and it fouls things up many times.

I can't pick it, but I can play it well legato. The trick is muting every other string with your right hand to make it really clear. It sounds so cool :)

That's how I do it too. I use my thumb and index finger to mute all but the B string. It is a very fun little segment to play.

Yeah, and it's cool at parties where you just start without picking, people are easily impressed :)

Studying is over-rated. Whenever I study I always do worse.

Man, I hear that. To me, re-writing facts from the book is what helps me the most.

Not that I have very many tests at all at my school.

Let's all fail university. Yay!

Cain 02-10-2005 11:25 PM

I would but then it's a waste of money.

xxxRoCkJuNkiExxx 02-10-2005 11:26 PM

I don't study, I get distracted too easily, especially if there's any kind of music-making device in the room.
Let's all fail university. Yay!
Yay!

Actually, the reason I don't study is because I get all worried about it and just end up bombing it. If I don't study I'm more relaxed and I do much better.

123. That is another reason, because there is always a music making device in every room. I made sure of that.

If you get tense before an exam, look at plants or the colour blue. That will soothe your mind.

Wierd. If I get stressed out I'll probably end up blowing it off though. Stress is teh sux.

I am going to try staring at plants/blue in my next class with a test. When my teacher asks me why I'm staring at my binder I can tell them I'm soothing my mind. :)

xxxRoCkJuNkiExxx 02-10-2005 11:32 PM

Blue is my favorite color

Riva 02-10-2005 11:35 PM

Write the answers in the colour blue. Then you can say you are soothing your mind, and cheat at the same time. ;)

Goodbye all, I am going to work.

I think I'm going to bring my practice pad with me tomorrow so I can focus before the test, nothing like good ole paradiddles to focus the mind :)

I used to have band before my Math class. Playing as hard as you can on pads works.

I took band last trimester and we only had 8 kids in there. We didn't have to play our band instruments (I play clarinet) and he let me bring in my guitar. :)

Good idea. Maybe in some class that I hate.

xxxRoCkJuNkiExxx 02-10-2005 11:53 PM

I used to use a pink pen for english but my teacher said if I didn't use a different color, she'd mark me down. I hate English, I learn absolutely nothing in that class.
