IMO SSOASS is the definitive Maiden sound! :p

-The Frank 03-29-2006 01:25 AM
omg, more prog-sounding than before...
should be great :)
 that sounds amazing

btw, are you a fan club member?
IMO SSOASS is the definitive Maiden sound! :p
Eh, i never thought maiden had a definitive sound. Almost every album sounds unique and is different every time. But, if there was one definitive sound SSOASS would be it.

Apocalyptic Raids 03-29-2006 01:32 AM

SSOASS is my favourite Maiden album.

purgatory 03-29-2006 02:15 AM

Judas my guide brings that whole album up for me, along with chains of misery.

BQOBD, ATSS, JBMG and FOTD are what bring that album up for me, the rest are just meh...

Studio FOTd for me is just =/. Otherwise i forgot about BQOBD and ATSS, both amazing songs. NOw to think of it childhoods end is also a great song. Infact, that whole album is pretty good (minus the apparation ).

From here to Eternity is an ace song.

i could never really get into "from here to eternity". Although on occasion i will listen to it religously. ONly on a real dead one though. Studio doesnt cut it for me.
But even after racking my brain last night i forgot about wasting love. great song aswell.

purgatory 03-30-2006 12:48 AM

Most of Maidens studio songs are not as good as live ones in my opinion!

crag 03-30-2006 09:15 AM
Most of Maidens studio songs are not as good as live ones in my opinion!
I can't think of a studio song that is better than a live one.

-The Frank 03-30-2006 09:19 AM

Listenin to best of the b-sides lately.....

A bit odd justice of the peace and judegment day didnt cut for the album. I thought both tracks were brilliant. Makes me wish i had more blaze....

crag 03-30-2006 09:40 AM

I've been listening to Judgement Day a lot recently, it's such an awesome song, i was really surprised that it didn't make the album.

-The Frank 03-30-2006 09:45 AM
I've been listening to Judgement Day a lot recently, it's such an awesome song, i was really surprised that it didn't make the album.
But, now to think of it, when listening, you dont really get that X-factor feeling. Which is dark and depressing. They should have just made one more album with blaze and put all the songs that didnt make virtualXI and Xfactor on it.

I just want more blaze :(
Why would you?
Being crushed to death by a barrage of Maiden fans i would imagine.

!MuDvAyNiAn! 03-30-2006 10:52 AM

ye thats what i imagined..

crag 03-30-2006 10:55 AM
ye thats what i imagined..
haha, don't worry dude, i've heard Maiden fans are a lot more laid back than other metal fans, it's the Trivium kiddies you'll need to watch out for.

!MuDvAyNiAn! 03-30-2006 01:37 PM

ye thats what i was thinking, i really wish it was someone better than trivium!

JamJar 03-30-2006 02:10 PM

I'm 14 and I survived a Dragonforce gig in the middle of the pit. You'll be fine.

The live version of Paschendale didn't really do justice to the album version IMO.

Lord Abortion 03-30-2006 02:34 PM

I love the live version too.

the live version of Paschendale is most definitely better than the studio.
and the best version is when you're there in the crowd :)
