END OF DRUMMING CONVORSATION
I hear some people say that MoP and AJFA aren't thrash. I kind of agree. They have far fewer thrashy songs on those two. Do you think this had anything to do with Dave Mustaine? He was part of the writing process for most of there thrashy songs. Do you think it was his departure that it stopped the thrash assault? When they ran out of material from the Mustaine areas do you think it stopped the thrashiness?
probably does anyone belive that metallica may have rip off diamond head riffs for their songs? |
Metallica have rip-off riffs of many artist and kirk says that one of the solos on wherever i may roam have a rip off of a Hendrix solo.

I am incredibly ashamed of myself and you all deserve to beat me up lol...
I have loved Metallica pretty much all my life, and i thought i had listened to all their songs, i realised on Orion they is like a second part, a more relaxed part!!! I always used to turn it off when it got there, Like a routine lol, anyways now i have heard all of Orion, Yes its amazing, and dude, go easy on me lol |

i frigging hate where ever i may roam, its just keeps repeating and it turds me off. funny thing is, lotsa other songs do that and thats the only one that ****s me off
|
if you think about it, pretty much any song rips off some other song. i figure, unless they blatently put riffs that are exactly the same, they are original. i mean, you can only write so many variatons on the "pentatonic" riff. Metal has it's limits, sooner or later someone is going to write extremely similar riffs

I think you're the only one that thinks that. Wherever I May Roam is a great song. |
On my Metallica DVD Kirk says something like thats straight up hendrix.
I think you're the only one that thinks that. Wherever I May Roam is a great song.
I don't like it either, so he's not the only one. |
Wherever I May Roam is okay
|
i doubt that. where'd you hear it took him 10 years to play his own song?
NP: "One" from S&M ^^best version IMO
I read it somewhere, but think about it. Metallica's never been able to perform Dyers Eve until recently. Thats where theres a lot of suspicion and conterversy that Lars copy and pasted the bass drum part (fast section during versse) because he could not play it properly. |
Yeah that just reminded me of the Sweet Home Alabama part in the 4 horseman. I love that part.
What....? Thats interesting. Is that the slow part in the song, with the first solo? Because they never play that part in their concerts. AND IT KICKS SO MUCH ***, pisses me off that they never play it. The solo is great also. I love just playing that slow rythm riff on my guitar while I'm reading or doing anything with a guitar around me (that and verse for fade to black). |
