I'm feeling accomplished. I don't suck at guitar as badly as I thought.. I can play Iron Man, and not just the main riff everyone knows even if they can't name the band. I can play the solo (not quite up to speed yet, but its coming along nicely for learning it last night) I'm proud of me. :)
Congrats. Even so, do me a favor and don't play it in a guitar store. :)

Eitri Is Berserk 02-10-2005 10:18 PM
Congrats on Iron Man Eitri! I still suck at guitar:(
Thank you. I'm quite proud of myself. :) I wish my printer was working so I could print it out and practice.. Oh wait there is a thing called a pencil.. :amaze:

The only pictures I saw were the fake ones. Maybe I missed the others. Sorry.
No those were the ones I speak of...bad joke I guess :(

I don't like the main riff all that much. Probably because its so well known. Same with Smoke On the Water. I won't, though. Just for you :)
I just really hate how it's hard to notice every new review. I always miss or not notice certain writers' reviews, and many miss mine (Well, by the looks of it) :(
I feel mine aren't read a lot either, but there are a lot of other nice things added to the system...for instance, being able to look at all te reviews someone has written and the like.

You don't need to post apologetically (to me, anyway) :)

The new site looks beautiful, but the forum construction was better for seeing the progress of conversations surrounding the reviews and stuff. There are also a few peculiarities: for instance, splashfreak wrote a new Alter Bridge review that he attempted to make less biased based on how the previous one led to 520 posts of defense against flames, yet in the transfer to the new site the new review retained all of the old responses from MX. I would have liked to see new responses, but now I have to scroll forward through the 38 pages of convo we've got to see any, if they occur.

It's a minor point though. :)

You could have tried to cover yourself by quoting Riva's supposed images of me.

Anyway, I'm off now I think. It's coming up on 4:30 and I have a lecture at 10. I should probably get at least a little sleep.

I concur.

I never went to that forum until this new site was up. Now the CDs already have tons of pages of posts and there's little reason to even post about the album anymore.

I think mx has added/is going to be adding a feature to skip automatically to the last page of comments. And again, don't feel as if you have to give your feelings on it apologetically.

I'm really going now.

It was brought up in the comments and Jeremy said he was going to fix that, I think.
Good night, everyone... I have to finish some reading.

Thanks again for tolerating my PhotoBucket rep posts... but I figured that people would get a kick out of them, and it seemed like they did.

I wasn't expecting Bobo to post my reps to him... but it's all good, they got a good reaction as well.

Tomorrow is Friday, yet I have my Honors class and my downtown diversity in education class. Erf.

Take care.
We should make a list!

Oh, man, guitar stores are really annoying. There's always a million dumbasses that don't understand that volume equals noise and feedback. The worst, though, had to be this kid that was plinking the riff to "Killing In the Name" over and over and over, with a semi-distorted dirty tone at a really high volume, with a ****ty guitar and a crate amp. I hate that! It was literally the only thing he knew how to play, and I'd pity him if it weren't so irritating.

Guitar girlfriends are funny, too. The bored female companion who couldn't give a **** that her boyfriend is shredding all over the place.

I've looked at 'em. They're way beyond someone who hasn't been playing for even a month.. On the subject of Gilmour, my dad has a solo album of his. Its on vinyl, worth a listen? I forget the title.. Too lazy to look.

Freezing Moon 02-10-2005 10:28 PM

I haven't really looked at the new site. I'm thinking that I should now though...

Learn Time, it's not too bad actually as long as you can bend.

I haven't even tried any solos yet...well other than Twist and Shout, and that's that what I would call a real solo. What are some easy ones to start with?

lol, I saw some kid with his girlfriend playing one of those Tom Delonge strats, plinking away with that punk progression that all those bands use (D-A-B-G, etc.) on a clean amp setting, and she was oggling him. She was hot, too. I wanted to ask for the guitar and play something complicated and then complain that the guitar sucked. It probably would have backfired on me with the girl, but it may have been worth it if I managed to bruise the guy's ego a little. I decided not to though, since it would have been real concieted.

The only thing worse than a girl that thinks that the boy is a god for playing Blink-182 is if the boy himself thinks he's a god because he can. It's actually pretty depressing when I'm playing guitar at a party and someone asks me for it and plays the one song he knows, looking around desperately at the girls around him...hoping...

Beatles, Pink Floyd, the Who, the Doors, pretty much anything classic rock.

 I'm trying to learn as little Blink as possiable. I did learn the intro to Adam Song though. And the interlude.. In about 10 minutes.. Didn't bother with the rest. Maybe some day I'll learn it just so I know another complete song..

Tons of Beatles songs are really easy. Mother or Time are pretty easy solos. Can't think of any by the who off the top of my head, and The Doors are bleh to me for the most part :(

If you want to work on your bends in solos, try "Another Brick in the Wall Pt. 2". The ones Zep recommended are good too.

Adam's song is pretty easy, much more fun to play Stay Together for the kids, it's actually really good for developing alternate selective picking.

CD Reviews is now Sputnik.

Especially legato Thunderstruck ;)

Nah, AC/DC solos can be pretty tough, but most of the rhythm and such is really easy.
