I can do vocals for anything off Kill 'em All, and possibly Ride The Lightning (Don't ask me to even try Fade To Black though).
/sexy voice ;)
Loves nothing more than playing seek and destroy on drums with band to warm up :D

Chu 05-27-2005 06:41 AM

Sick, learn Motorbreath and we can do a sick cover =D

hotguitarchick 05-27-2005 06:47 AM
Alot of Kirk Style solos are pretty solid lol, Try the first solo from Master of Puppets, thats pretty simple, the rest are not simple though lol.... And you say no solos from S.t Anger...
The good news is S.t Anger has no solos, also, even if your drummer doesn't have double bass you can still modify the bass drum beats slightly instead of

00000
0---00

The solo from Nothing Else Matters is really easy but you probably don't want to play that.

I am not one to argue but Its not really easy, and if I am correct in thinking your a girl, I would assume your taking the.... No offense but girls just don't seem to be able to handle anything musically except the vocals...

Look at the drummer from the whitestripes
Avril Lavignes Guitaring
That female bassist from ozzfest...

The list goes on...
girls are just as good at guys at anything musical as well as vocals. there's nothing to say we aren't. guys are so **** sexist

Skit 05-27-2005 06:52 AM

The girl on the SKOM bassist auditions ruled :thumb:

hey, i know some chicks that are ****ing great at guitar. dont listen to
Sh itheads like him. btw that would be so hott to hear a chick sing ride the lightning. :thumb:

Deth 05-27-2005 07:49 AM

I play bass. We should do two songs with different groups to see whose is best.

Iceman-rocker 05-27-2005 07:49 AM
Yeah, bass isn't as easy as everyone thinks it is.

Has anyone ever recorded any covers of Metallica songs? If so you should post them on here because I would like to listen to them. :thumb:
www.artistlabel.com/bands/177

listen to the ride the lightning, and to live is to die. The other stuff is crap we just got bored and recorded.

btw, the link wont work, your gonna have to type it into the url box urself.

mr black 05-27-2005 07:57 AM

Hey that cover of 'to live is to die' is very good. The drums, dont sound quite...real, but mabye i just have a lack of faith. Anyway :thumb:

Also another easy song to play with no solo's is 'For whom the bell tolls'

Iceman-rocker 05-27-2005 08:00 AM
The girl on the SKOM bassist auditions ruled :thumb:
yeah she played seek and destroyed pretty good.
but Metallica would never pick a girl to be there new bass player even if she was the best out of all of them.

So they picked rob.
That crazy guy is going to make a great new album for metallica. Because remember Bob Rock did all the bass lines for St. Anger.
So this is going to be robs full new album with metallica with his own bass lines mabye even bass solos for songs. If he did that the CD would rule. :thumb:

Endless Obsession 05-27-2005 02:12 PM

It should start like this:

Drummer Makes Track
Bassist Uses Track and Records Bass part
Rhythm Guitarist uses that track and plays James' part
Lead guitarist uses the newest track and adds Kirk's part
Vocalist Sings over the track

I think that we should do seek and destroy. Shotgun on Rhythm Guitar. If anyone can play the solos, then post it. Also if you can do drums, bass, or vocals post.

So i guess so far its:

Drums: Sliptallica
Bass: Metal_Head 617
Rhythm Guitar: R. Blythe :D
Lead Guitar:
Vocals:

Go!

munky_magik 05-27-2005 02:21 PM

In theory everyone should be able to record their parts separately, just as long as they all make sure that they're all playing at the same tempo.

Huber 05-27-2005 02:23 PM

I can do drums. My play time is limited though, so if I start "flaking" someone else can take over.

Endless Obsession 05-27-2005 02:23 PM
In theory everyone should be able to record their parts separately, just as long as they all make sure that they're all playing at the same tempo.
That would give everyone a chance to participate, but it would be a lot harder, cause if you got off by a little bit, it ruinst he whole thing.

Thor 05-27-2005 03:22 PM

Get me for bass, OK?

I just finished Orion today on bass, I'm so proud of myself. :thumb:
girls are just as good at guys at anything musical as well as vocals. there's nothing to say we aren't. guys are so **** sexist
I am not saying that girls are not as good as guys, I am saying girls are not given the same opertunities as men, they are never taken seriously!
I would love to know why there are limited women in the R&M scene, something that I will always want to see is more women rocking out!....

By the way, Do you think your could do me a little demo of some of your guitaring??? I dont think I have ever heard a girl play Metallica, Would be nice to here it... I will play it to my female guitarist, her ambition is to beat all male guitarists so when she finds out another girl is better than her she will freak

Huber 05-27-2005 05:15 PM
That would give everyone a chance to participate, but it would be a lot harder, cause if you got off by a little bit, it ruinst he whole thing.
Yeah, it's safer doing drums first, but it could work without doing something first. It'd just be harder, but at the same time faster.

JonG 05-27-2005 11:40 PM

I could do vocals!
And I would the best Rhythm guitarist :naughty:

NoHero9 05-28-2005 12:57 AM

cliff em all was ok, some of the songs have terrible production, of course, like lights being shi'tty, people being in the way, being too far back, but all in all, ok stuff. I give it two perimian nubs in the up position!

NoHero9 05-28-2005 01:04 AM

dammit, if i had a microphone, I could play all kinds of kirk solos, Seek and destroy is one of the first metallica solos i learned so i could easily do it, but im too poor for computer equipment

Alexpc007 05-28-2005 03:52 AM

Nah, that would take hours. It gets repetitive after a while anyway.

Kickflip_Burrito 05-28-2005 01:52 PM

Does anybody remember the rumour about James dying on Christmas Day? A link was put up in the News section of the official site denying this rumour.

Cool thanks. It's just, back in 2004, there was a lot of talk about Metallica returning to studio in January 2005, but now that months have passed since then, and I was wondering what the word on the street was in recent times.

Chu 05-28-2005 04:05 PM

I was joking about the rhythm guitarist by the way, the only song I ever bothered to learn by Metallica was Orion, oh sexy Rhythm it is.

Well can you still do vocals for us? R. Blythe can probably just do both guitars.

So who's doing what? Can we see a list of people so everything is organized?
