Does anyone happen to know the time signature for Robert Plant's "Freedom Fries"? I'm thinking either 4/4-3/4 or just 5/4. I'm stumped
Clap Your Hands Say Yeah - Some Loud Thunder

Very dull. I still like the first album, but it appears that they've completely forgotten how to write hooks. There's just nothing going on here, it's empty.
Hopefully you aren't the only one thinking this way and it'll fade into obscurity. I also worry that Pitchfork views them as their little baby, resulting in biased reviews attempting to maintain/rejuvenate their popularity.

Stars of the Lid - The Ballasted Orchestra
I wish Crazy Rhythms was as consistently awesome as the first two tracks.
You mean you wish it were all the best song ever like "Raised Eyebrows"?

br3ad_man 01-18-2007 12:49 AM

The Killers - Sam's Town
Clap Your Hands Say Yeah - Some Lound Thunder

The Killers is pretty good. CYHSY isn't.

Zmev 01-18-2007 04:04 AM

Weezer - Pinkerton

This is better than I remember it being, then again I've had a pretty low opinion of this. Rolling Stone should listen to it again too.

Clap Your Hands Say Yeah - Some Loud Thunder

this is a grower.

Gonna listen to the new Clap Your Hands in a sec.

3 (?) hours later and this is still the case. I bumped it up by .5 because two listens this early/late isn't enough for my rating of it to skyrocket. We'll see how today goes.

Kyle 01-18-2007 06:20 AM

Oh man, the Some Loud Thuder leak quality is awful. I don't think it's possible to judge this.

AlienEater 01-18-2007 06:31 AM

Yo La Tengo - Painful

Zmev 01-18-2007 06:34 AM

Weezer - Blue

I never thought about it, but they are similar to Oasis in terms of how their careers played out.
Oh man, the Some Loud Thuder leak quality is awful. I don't think it's possible to judge this.
...it's meant to sound like it sounds.

Kyle 01-18-2007 06:45 AM
...it's meant to sound like it sounds.
With that awful distorted drum sound? If that's the case then screw this album.

I Was A Kaleidoscope 01-18-2007 06:50 AM

in an interview Alec said he didn't like the song as much without the distortion.
hmm.

it kind of reminds me of Neutral Milk Hotel actually. they have a lot of that blown out folky fuzzy stuff happening

br3ad_man 01-18-2007 07:22 AM

Instead of listening to the leak with poor quality (according to wiki), listen to the legal stream on their myspace.

ATM 01-18-2007 07:47 AM

Camper Van Beethoven - Key Lime Pie

They suck.

asdf 01-18-2007 01:38 PM

The guitarist looks like a vulture. If that makes them good or not, I don't know.

pixiesfanyo 01-18-2007 01:49 PM

New album is good.

Everything else by Hella is pretty terrible.

Glitterati 01-18-2007 02:14 PM

The Rolling Stones - Exile On Main St.

DMD I can see why you like this album so much. If you haven't already, you might like The Black Crowes.
