Lord Abortion 03-24-2006 04:33 PM

Yeah, me too...with alot of music.

Deth 03-24-2006 04:58 PM

I do it more with bands like Blind Guardian. It's impossible not to sing along to choruses like Time Stands Still. Impossible.

Thunder Fingers 03-24-2006 05:05 PM

errrh... another crappy Nu metal band opening for Maiden....

MAIDEN DESERVE BETTER OPENING BANDS!!!! or... maby.... the FANS deserve better opening bands....

Deth 03-24-2006 05:15 PM

Trivium aren't nu-metal, but they aren't good either.

ashman 03-24-2006 05:49 PM
Trivium aren't nu-metal, but they aren't good either.
Well they are if you have an self-respect... :p

YDload 03-24-2006 06:05 PM

Trivium is better than most bands of their genre, but for the most part you probably won't notice it. You can tell that they are HUGE Maiden fans because sometimes their choruses turn really anthemic and catchy. This is probably a dream of a lifetime for them, so think of it that way :)

crag 03-24-2006 06:13 PM

Yeah and if it wasn't for Trivium i'd have noone to go with to see Maiden:p

Lord Abortion 03-25-2006 11:32 AM

I don't care, really, I'd make sarcastic comments about pretty much any band opening for Maiden, except if it was a band I really liked...

ah, I don't think it'll be as good as some of the abuse I gave FFAF, but I'll try.

Josh 03-25-2006 01:02 PM

i reckon Trivium should be allright, but let's face it, most people are going to be there to see Maiden, so their reception's hardly going to be brilliant.

2muchket! 03-25-2006 01:52 PM

Can't be any worse than FFAF surely

Josh 03-25-2006 03:49 PM

/touches wood.

who cares, we're gonna abuse them anyway, whoever it is. well, maybe if metallica supported them we'd be...tolerant.

Lord Abortion 03-25-2006 03:55 PM

Piss off.

I'd still abuse Metallica.

PAJJ 03-25-2006 04:32 PM

Trivium should be pretty good, especially for a Maiden warm up, and I agree it's a definitley a huge step up from FFAF, all thought the supports bands at Hammersmith were pretty damn good.

YDload 03-25-2006 05:06 PM

Gigantour was fun because it's probably the only metal concert where people will chant "Metallica sucks!" (or "Lars sucks!" sometimes) You just don't get that kind of slagging off anywhere!

classicrockman 03-25-2006 05:14 PM

Sweet.

Josh 03-25-2006 05:16 PM

but Lars does suck, so freedom of speech means we can't be locked up for saying the truth.
right?

>_>

<_<

blackthorne 03-26-2006 10:45 AM

oh my god i got tickets to see maiden in glasgow AND ITS ON MY BIRTHDAY !!!!!

I like them at times, they're the sort of band that i really like for about a month then i'll go off them for a while and then back to liking them and so on.

JamJar 03-27-2006 10:52 AM

I would like Trivium a lot more if it wasn't for those horrible vocals.

SimonCore 03-27-2006 10:59 AM

Trivium are either loved or hated in the majority of cases. There's few people who think they're just ok.

Josh 03-27-2006 11:38 AM

i'm one of those few people then :p

!MuDvAyNiAn! 03-27-2006 12:27 PM

i hate them tbh and sadly have 2 see them while they support maiden

Josh 03-27-2006 03:12 PM

meh, i'm not too arsed. i may take my mp3 player, then get to the front row and listen to that while Trivium are on :p.

new topic: assume Maiden play 18 songs or so, of which, say, 6 are from the new album (like DoD tour), what songs off other albums will they play?
i would like (in no particular order / preference) :
Hallowed Be Thy Name
Sign Of The Cross
Blood Brothers (although Brave New World would be great, again)
Iron Maiden
Caught Somewhere In Time
Fear Of The Dark
Paschendale
Hooks In You (yes, i actually like that one :p)
To Tame A Land
Rime Of The Ancient Mariner (or Powerslave)
The Evil That Men Do
The Trooper

2muchket! 03-27-2006 03:26 PM

The Trooper to close would = pwnage

Josh 03-27-2006 03:28 PM
The Trooper to close would = pwnage
in no particular order :p
note the lack of NOTB and RTTH, seen them do those songs twice before, so 2 different longer ones makes it way better :)

2muchket! 03-27-2006 03:28 PM

oic

I still stand by what I said :(

Josh 03-27-2006 03:31 PM
oic

it would be such an awesome closer, yes.

Deth 03-27-2006 03:31 PM

I doubt they would play 6. Possibly 4, maybe less if the album hasn't been released yet.

Josh 03-27-2006 03:33 PM
I doubt they would play 6. Possibly 4, maybe less if the album hasn't been released yet.
this is for the december gig, the album will have been released by then :p
and they played 6 off DoD (Rainmaker, Wildest Dreams, DoD, No more lies, journeyman, paschendale)
