Isn't the James vs Lars drum thing from Live shit?
Also can you make the second bit of your post a bit clearer?

I really like the drumming in Pulling Teeth, even though that song is primarily a bass solo.
Lars=Good drummer, but complete arsehole.
Right?

EDIT

i didn't want to use another thread but i wana talk on the Bob Rock subject

ya he did good for metallica on the black album...simpler riffs, simpler lyrics but what he did 2 metallica as of now makes me wana punch him the face

IE st.anger, what happened to the solos????
That wasn't Bob, that was Lars. Everybody loves to hate on Bob Rock, the only problem is that Rock isn't involved that much in the songwriting process. It's 90% Lars/James/Kirk, 10% Rock. Mmmkays?

Rock did some work on St. Anger, mainly the bass and giving suggestions on different drum pieces and stuff, but he didn't like, you know, write whole songs.

Yea, and he didn't tell kirk solos are outdated and such. Him and kirk agreed that there shouldn't be a rule for solos or no solos. But then again, this was discussed a page back or so.

Deth 03-19-2005 05:58 PM

Lars best drumming is on Dyers Eve. He played it live, so it's not on multiple tracks.

God I love Dyers Eve.

wrongnote85 03-19-2005 06:10 PM

fight fire with fire is probroly my fav drumwise. everytime i listen to it i'm just like "damm". (no "n" so i don't get *'s all over the place)

ytsedrummer 03-19-2005 06:35 PM

What Creeping Deth and Wrongnote85 said.... plus The Frayed Ends Of Sanity.

coolidgeALL 03-19-2005 06:38 PM
The whole album or just the song?
I like everything in that song, but I don't play drums. just guitar/bass.

LarsAgi007 03-19-2005 06:45 PM

I would have to say as far as amazing drumming goes (Not speed or complexicity) it would be one of these.....

Disposible Heroes
Harvester of sorrow
To Live is to Die (I love the china he uses in that)

larsROCKS 03-19-2005 07:30 PM

PepsiMetal 03-19-2005 10:22 PM

Is there a video for this anywhere online?

heavy metal kid 03-19-2005 11:12 PM

About the drum battle, I saw the vocalist and the drummer of Godsmack in the same face off during the madly in anger with the world tour

RiceMonster 03-19-2005 11:28 PM

Oh man, I'd love to see a lars drum solo.

heavy metal kid 03-19-2005 11:45 PM

They are pretty good, but they sound better with kirk's guitar following the beat

metal_milita 03-20-2005 12:44 AM

I think its obvious, Dyers Eve is his best drumming. Not only does it match the song, it took him 10 years to be able to play that song.
And Dyers Eve just kicks ***.

Huber 03-20-2005 12:45 AM

Yeah, Dyer's Eve is Lars' peak.

6stringslinger 03-20-2005 12:51 AM

Not to get off the subject but I saw Godsmack in Columbus with Metallica last year and that drum battle was bad a**! They were playing in unison and it looked like a mirror image from where I was sitting, I thought that was the best part of Godsmacks set, especially when they started it off with the opening measures of YYZ from Rush!

Huber 03-20-2005 01:23 AM

Yeah, it was incredible. I liked the drum battle at the Godsmack/Metallica show a lot too. All my friends thought it was lame, so I didn't think anyone else thought it was cool. I'm happy to see my friends are just morons and I'm not a freak :thumb:

Masterofpuppets 03-20-2005 01:53 AM

did dyers eve really take 10 years, how did u find that out?

Rattlehead 03-20-2005 03:03 AM

if it did take ten yrs then im not surprised anyway. masterpeices like that do take yrs, spesh wen ur still writng a few other kick a'ss albums

Rattlehead 03-20-2005 03:11 AM

my wish is 2 jam wit james, lars an kirk (ha!) woodnt that be great, tho?

larsROCKS 03-20-2005 03:14 AM

 10 years. .. .thats ages. but it sure is worth it. awsom song :thumb:
Is there a video for this anywhere online?
Yes probably, but you would more than likely have to download the whole DVD to get it lol..
If you have a file sharing program (WinMX) for example, Type (Lars drum solo) in the search box, and i can guarantee you it will be there, Lars v Jaymez is the one your looking for, if you want the video of it, search the same thing, but put a video extension on the end, eg: .gif .jpeg are for pictures .MP3, .wav is for sound, not sure of the video one though lol....
If you want to buy the DVD its called Live S**T Binge and purge, it is well worth buying, its got 2 dvd's and 3 CD's, possibly the most amazing thing i ever saw !!!!
