And check out Grunt, it's like Gnaw Their Tongues but more noisy!
I love all that type of ****. Listening to Genocide Organ right now, heil |
that looks like a cool read
It is but it's probably a bit outdated, I need to find out if there is a better modern resource. |
I'd actually rather not know what happened to industrial music after the 90's
|
Even so the book was published in 1983, though it covers the first few key artists of the movement well enough first wave had only just taken off. It also neglects some of the interesting stuff happening elsewhere (Maurizio Bianchi, Deutsch-Amerikanische Freundschaft, Test Dept, Die Form, Severed Heads etc.).
I'd like to see a comprehensive overview of the entire first wave period, its difficult to pinpoint exactly when it ended but surely during the latter part of the 80's. |
Anyone of you into Efterklang?
They play in my city in may. I think I'll go. I only have their first album, never bothered to check any other stuff, even though the album I have is quality stuff. |
efterklang is great

Yeah, digging it quite a bit.
I need to catch up on all their material i've missed out on. |
they're the str8 masters of EBM nobody comes close
i love how all the old 90s industrial bands are progressing into the fuzzy/distorto/electro field with more melodic vocals digging it |
I need to get That Total Age, I've never listened to this band

Saw Kirin on friday night. Was ****ing insanity. One to watch. |
listening to the second disc of that OHM early electronic music collection
sounds like me just jamming on my keyboard in ableton live with some sinewaves |
Might be doing some remixing for a few local artists, and then gigging the results with them live. Intriguing.
|
dude whats with the sewed nipple flaps on that myspace page
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nXjMugIdpS0 also this is very Aaron lol |
He's pretty insane man. Like an anorexic Brian Ferry in a dodgy Wollongong pub. And naked.
I mean, he wore a straw hat and pale blue suit on stage. |
I wish we had characters like that around here.
Instead we get Grant Luhrs. http://www.grantluhrs.com.au/ |
I think I am one of those characters around here.
I got asked on friday if I was playing, lol. |
http://www.grantluhrs.com.au/albums.html#bidgee
I borrowed one of his comedy albums from the library once, if you ever see one of them outside of Wagga Wagga, steer clear. |
Haha. We're pretty spoilt in Wollongong. We've got a bit of a thing happening.
|
We don't have characters around here, just autotune crabcore.
Except that douchebag who wears all neon colors and plays 8-bit music , but that guy's a tool. |

violin girl dragged me along to one of his shows once
i was like oh god what the hell is this, a little skinny emo boy playing chiptune renditions of Ramones songs and throwing pumpkins off the stage and robotripping bad scene http://www.myspace.com/peppermintpony he's pretty good actually |
Do you like Eloy, Alex?
|
Never heard of it.
|
Great krautrock/space rock band from Germany check them out. Get Ocean.

was listening to this last night, billed as "obscure ritual improv industrial" seems like something either Mike or Alex might dig |
I have that, its pretty good.
Anyone like Apoptose? |
yeah i like them, ive got nordland. it occasionally gets boring but when theres actually something going on its got great atmosphere. last halves of von der sonne and nordlicht are excellent.
|
I prefer Blutopfer out of all of his material I think.
|
