Try getting Astriaal's [i]Renascent Misanthropy[/i]. I've found people who aren't really into Black Metal enjoy it, and use it as kind of a gateway.

I just don't like the thrashier sound of Venom, as I really can't stand thrash in anything other than very small doses. The vocals annoy me also. Each to his own, though in this case I know I'm in the minority by far.
