Some of my favorites (just off the top of my head):

A Warm Place/Eraser
Just Like You Imagined
The Day The World Went Away
The Frail
Beside You In Time (the ending is so epic)

What albums are All The Could Have Been and The Great Below on? I can't find them on my computer, I thought I had all of them though.

Meatplow 04-26-2007 06:08 PM

Heresy.

That song is the bomb, i can listen to it anytime and never get sick of it. It's a perfect fusion of the NIN electronica elements and digital distortion to me.

misunderstood 04-26-2007 06:09 PM

^Yeah, I forgot to mention Beside You In Time as well.

And All That Could Have Been is on Still
and The Great Below is on the left disc of The Fragile

samthebassman 04-26-2007 06:11 PM

Great Below - The Fragile
All That Could Have Been - All That Could Have Been

magicbus 04-26-2007 06:13 PM

Weird. I never had The Great Below on here, but I have the disc here and just ripped it on to my computer. Pretty cool so far.

I don't think I have Still.

samthebassman 04-26-2007 06:14 PM

Great Below is unreal, one of his darkest songs.

misunderstood 04-26-2007 06:15 PM

I have a link for STILL if you'd like?

magicbus 04-26-2007 06:17 PM

Sounds good. Thanks :)

Yeah that was a pretty dark song. I really liked Trent's vocals in the middle when he screams "the great below".

misunderstood 04-26-2007 06:33 PM

I just need to look for the link. I'll post up in a few mins.

Edit: Here you go, Still.

Hmm. Maybe I should send it in for the DU. I don't think it's been sent out in quite some time now.

bwnstl 04-26-2007 10:20 PM

Yeah, the only time it was in the DU was when I upped it back in December.

Phil 04-27-2007 12:51 AM

My favourites are:
La Mer
Closer
Every day is exactly the same

Clunge 04-27-2007 01:08 AM

March Of The Pigs
The Beginning Of The End
Terrible Lie

Top 3 .

Meatplow 04-27-2007 01:09 AM

Terrible Lie is growing on me as a favourite.

DrumIntoTheNight 04-27-2007 01:37 AM

If any of you have been checking out the ARG, and are registered on ETS or The Spiral, I suggest you check out their forums ASAP. We've found a round-up website, that includes a list of contacts which contains all the forum-member's names. It's too damn cool.

If any of you guys use garage band, you might be interested in this:

That song was one that really actually took me a while to get into. Now I think it's wonderful. But for some reason I always found it kind of boring until I heard it live..and that was awesome. Still, I think my favorite track off PHM has to be Sin.

Ha, that's awesome. Is every single member of ETS suppose to be on that list? I don't see my name on there...yet. With my luck I'll probably be executed or deceased. :upset:

DrumIntoTheNight 04-27-2007 10:23 AM

Not every member, as it turns out. We're trying to figure out what the criteria for being on the list is.

Kage 04-27-2007 11:56 AM

****ing incredible what he's doing here. And getting more incredible with every day.

samthebassman 05-21-2007 10:03 PM

Is the new dvd worth getting???

DrumIntoTheNight 05-22-2007 12:30 AM

Hell yes.
Is the new dvd worth getting???
Definitely.
It has its pros and cons but I'd say it is a good buy.

Also, I'm currently stuck on the song Zero-Sum.
I can't get over how great it is!
Is the new dvd worth getting???
It's easily one of the greatest live videos ever made. The sound is just incredible.

Kage 05-22-2007 04:55 PM

It's okay. Underwhelming as hell.

deadinholywood 05-22-2007 05:59 PM

I have to agree, And All That Could Have Been is much better.

DrumIntoTheNight 05-23-2007 01:06 PM

I love Amazon.co.uk. This arrived in the post this afternoon from NIN's record company, after being won through an Amazon competition.

Stoked doesn't quite cover it.

Just got done reading that interview and wow, Trent is pretty damn mad/upset about the whole music industry and label bullshit.
It's a pretty interesting interview..thought I'd post it on here.
Talks about how future NIN albums might be released, that is if Trent doesn't decide to just stop recording altogether. Looks like he owes his label one more album and that's it...maybe we'll see the resurrection of his own label, NOTHING? :p

Dimmu Burger 05-25-2007 03:50 PM

I worry about the future of NIN music after he said that he didn't want to use major labels.

misunderstood 05-25-2007 06:03 PM

^Yeah, no kidding. I don't think Trent can just stop working though..he's a goddamn workaholic! :p:
Anyway, I just got done reading some interview they have up at the NINHotline...First thing I read was this:
Reznor positioned the new NIN album, Year Zero, as the first in a trilogy, but says he has been sidetracked from the second installment
 ....A trilogy?! I thought there was only suppose to be two parts to this album. This is great!
"But some interesting things have come up in terms of turning this into another format of entertainment, like a television show or a movie. I've had some meetings with A-list people I'm interested in possibly working with.
A Television show?! Nice! And A-list people...I wonder who.
"I haven't written any new music for this yet, I literally haven't had a second to do that. That's what I'm doing when I get home. But I don't expect it to sound like Year Zero did. It won't be another 15 songs from that same vibe."
This should all be very interesting. Wonder if the album will be a little more optimistic...Looking forward to this all.

samthebassman 06-01-2007 04:35 AM

I cant get enough of Year Zero, it is definitly a grower.

misunderstood 06-01-2007 11:03 AM
THE NEW NINE INCH NAILS MUSIC->YEAR ZERO< IS ONE OF THE BEST ALBUM'S IVE HEARD IN YEARS. WE ALL MUST SUPPORT ARTIST WHO FIGHT THE SYSTEM AND DO THINGS ACCORDING TO WHAT'S IN THERE HEART. THIS IS A MAGICAL PIECE OF WORK AND I HIGHLY SUGGEST YOU DO ANYTHING YOU CAN TO GET YOUR HANDS ON IT.
--NIKKI SIXX
Just saw this as a bulletin on MySpace posted by Nikki Sixx.
Supporting NIN..very cool, if you ask me.:p:

visionofadream 06-07-2007 01:49 PM

Trent is an amazing person, I just got into lisening to NIN about a year ago and when Year Zero came out I was really impressed. I've read interviews with him and he is a great, intellegent speaker and is very good at proving a point=) (a very good point at that) very nice spread of albums they have, and I can't wait to hear more.

misunderstood 06-07-2007 03:17 PM

Next year...next year. As for now I'm still enjoying Year Zero very much.
And I'm still very stuck on the song Zero Sum...by far my favorite track off the album.

Jet17 06-22-2007 01:21 PM
Reznor is the only official member of Nine Inch Nails and remains solely responsible for the musical direction of the band.
I never knew that before...so is he the only one who records NIN's records? or does he have other people playing instruments and stuff during his recording sessions?

pixiesfanyo 06-22-2007 01:24 PM

Depends.

repcak 06-22-2007 01:25 PM

yes, he is the only one... during the tours he has musicians who play the songs...

Jet17 06-22-2007 01:34 PM

Oh cool, so if he has musicians helping him in the studio and on tours then why doesn't he just create an official band? You know, so he wouldn't have to constantly find new ppl to help him.

EDIT: Oh, I just saw that you said that he is the only one in the studio :/. So how does he do that then? Does he just use overdubbing or something?

repcak 06-22-2007 01:40 PM

why should he? through this he has 100% control over his music... he is doing the drums, guitars, electronics, bass, etc. and so he can create exactly the music he has in his mind!!
