Nice. :thumb: The lowest I've gone is a 3 Judas Priest albums for Aus$12.00.

I've also gotten a Meat Loaf and a Motorhead album for $5 bucks each.

SofaKing713 09-30-2004 06:37 PM

I got the new shadows fall, the new lamb of god and a maiden CD for under $20.

eggs'n'spam 09-30-2004 08:57 PM

hm, your point? are we supposed to 'check em out'?

oh, who watched the whole debate? i didnt, but the part i caught..bush looked like he was asleep for a minute or 2, he looked bored after he woke up..lol

Kingofdudes 09-30-2004 09:00 PM

I saw it, but it failed to keep my attention. People get on Bush's grill all the time for how he speaks, but it isnt the most important skill for the President of the US.

eggs'n'spam 09-30-2004 09:03 PM

it is kinda important that he can communicate effectivly, but he gets his point across in a humorous manner..though boring, as all politicians. you gotta forgive bush, hes from texas, and 'ya caint mess wif texas'

It is important, but it is low for the US. But in a place like Britain where the PM gets grilled weekly in Parliament, it is very important.

im aussie, and our PM cops alot in parliment, we had to go there once on a school trip, and the whole room was full of old men honestly calling each other names and yelling over each other.

speaking of being aussie, i know we get movies alot later than people in the U.S, but i saw harold and kumar go to whitecastle today and thought it was funny as, seen it people?

Riva 10-01-2004 04:35 AM

Nope, haven't yet. Hope to though.

And yeah, I've watched debate time on ABC when I couldn't find the remote and was too bored to get up and change the T.V. Honestly, the only thing they discussed was how stupid the Minister for Education was in regards to their latest policy. About three different people got up, called the minister names, and sat down again. Then the John Howard stood up, called the main agitator an idiot, and then complained to the speaker. Great example of democracy in progress, people!

samick malibu 10-01-2004 04:42 AM

haha yeah man.
when we went in they were discussing the whole scorseby freeway thing, and it was one guy trying to defend the tolling and another guy standing talking to his friends at the top of his lungs trying to drown out the other guy. he also worked in a few insults into his yelling, until the chairperson told ihm to shut up.
dammit i have to go, later

Riva 10-01-2004 04:52 AM

Meanwhile, how funny is my department manager at work. (The store manager is the one I have a problem with.) He asked me a few days ago to work today, because the usual guy is in Sydney. So I came into work and said hello to him, then walked up the stairs to chuck my stuff in my locker. As I'm walking up the stairs, I hear him say, "Hey Jason, are you in fresh produce today?"
And I replied, "Yeah, I'm filling in for Greg".
Blank stare, "Oh, is he still in Sydney"
"Yeah, you asked me to fill in for him, remember?"
A few minutes pass, blank stare continues...
"Oh, well, thanks for coming in. When is he coming back?"

Uh, how am I supposed to know?!? You're the boss... But yeah, usually he is a cool guy, but today he was either stoned, or just naturally doughy for some reason. But after he left, I had a good time slacking off and eating honey cashews, which are heaven on earth.

JMetallica 10-01-2004 05:22 AM

Gees, boss can be absolutely stupid sometimes. I respect my bosses, but the lady i was working for is THE most forgetful person on the face of the planet. First, she was going to her car, and came back inside because she forgot her keys. 10 minutes later, she comes back. It appears she went to the band but forgot the check/money she needed to deposit. Then later that afternoon, she returnes again, this time she had forgotten the registered mail when going to the post office.

I respect her though, because she ****s chicks.

Riva 10-01-2004 05:40 AM

I worked for a forgetful midget lesbian. Is your boss one too?

Kingofdudes 10-01-2004 05:47 AM

I work for a whore that slept with the boss to get her job.

Riva 10-01-2004 05:47 AM

Sleep with her to get on her good side.

samick malibu 10-01-2004 05:49 AM

my bosses at my old job, where i worked at a fruit and vegie shop, were chinese, and they didnt speak english very well. they were also inclined to call me at 6 in the morning 'asking' me to work for 10 hours on my day off, because the other arsehole who worked there called in sick, most likely because he was stoned.
then theyd talk about us (me and my friend who worked there) in chinese while we stood there.
their call for me was 'stupid boy', and a more polite 'girl' for my friend.
they paid us $6.50 an hour (i dont know how much american that equals, but it sucks) and fired employees when they reached an age where they legally had to be paid more.
argh now im angry.....those arseholes.......
the last guy that quit from there stole $200 worth of lemons just to spite them

Riva 10-01-2004 06:02 AM

What did he do; make tons of lemonade?

samick malibu 10-01-2004 06:04 AM

threw them at peoples cars. and threw the leftovers at the bosses as they left at the end of the day

Paranoidd 10-01-2004 08:00 AM

I spent $60 on a stripper last night.

gmoneyguy 10-01-2004 08:24 AM

Whats the norm to spend on a stripper?

Paranoidd 10-01-2004 08:29 AM

Lap dances (one song) are $20 each. I would have spent more but that's all I had on me.

gmoneyguy 10-01-2004 08:30 AM

Oh ok. I'm thinking about going to one for my 18th birthday.

Paranoidd 10-01-2004 09:52 AM

Do it!

Lap dances are cool. If you're not ugly, the strippers don't mind doing it and you'll have alot more fun.

gmoneyguy 10-01-2004 09:53 AM

sweetness, 3 more months...

I'm gonna go to New Orleans. Its only 80 miles away plus the drinking age is 18 there.

Paranoidd 10-01-2004 09:57 AM

Just don't make the mistake that a buddy of mine made. He went for his birthday, he went to get a lap dance and he was gone for a looooong time. We're like "Wow man, Andy's taking a while in there...how much money did he bring?"

Sure enough he comes out after like half an hour with a couple of bouncers escorting him. Apparently he wasn't aware that you pay PER SONG. So the girl kept asking him if he wanted another dance and he was like "sure," thinking it was still from the first dance. Yeah, he racked up around $100 tab. We all had to loan him money to bail him out, it was pretty funny. He definitely had fun though.

gmoneyguy 10-01-2004 09:58 AM

Good to know, I won't make that mistake.

Later for now, I got to go to Physics.

I don't know how the rules are in the States. It even differs in Canada.

Where I like (Toronto), strippers can touch you as much as they want but you pretty much just have to sit there. They put a towel over your c0ck, so it isn't as rough for them (they ARE naked) and in case you...you know...blow in your pants (I've heard many stories of it happening). Bouncers peek in and if you piss them or the stripper off, you're dead. This girl was giving me a dance once and slapped her own arse, really hard, and the bouncer thought I hit her and came running into the room. She had to bail me out. She was like "Uh...I won't do that again."

However, in Calgary, you can't be closer than FOUR FEET to a stripper, and NO lap dances. It's crazy. My friends cousin came here from Calgary and spent about $150 in one night.

My bosses went to Atlanta for a conference this year, and they were saying there was only one club and the girls all looked real young. Apparently they shut all the clubs down. Weird.

I don't know how things will be for you.

gmoneyguy 10-01-2004 05:23 PM

I hope the clubs are like the Toronto cluns in New Orleans.

Bartender 10-01-2004 05:45 PM

Just spent a lot longer than I probably should have reading everything I've missed. You can all have fun working out what I'm referring to now, since I'm posting without quoting.

Mountain Dew is indeed awesome.

I didn't change my avatar when I was modded, so it's actually still 70x70.

As far as I know, no MXican knows what I look like. With luck, it'll stay like that for some time :) Though I am interested to know what evilmenhavenosongs' image of me is.

It's good to know of being missed, and of candlelit vigils in particular.

*could speak a foreign language if his life depended on it* I'm learning a little Russian in Uni too, which is fun.

You don't need a credit card for eBay, unless you want to sell things, or exclusively sell items rather than buy, or want to pay only by PayPal. For buying, you don't need anything but an email address, because you can pay by numerous, non-chequebook methods, and if you don't pay, you don't get the item (unless there's a particularly stupid seller), so it doesn't matter.

The Matrix MMORPG looks like a bad idea. LOTR should be good though.

You're all a filthy bunch of criminals.

Ichi the Killer is hilarious, and TV is indeed overrated.

Least I've paid for a CD is 99p. It was pretty good too, though for 99p it could have had one good riff and I'd've been pleased.

Bartender 10-01-2004 05:48 PM

And things I've been thinking of, in my time off;

I'm several hundred posts short of where I should be right about now. I'm gonna try and rectify that before having to go back to the Internet-less place.

Does anyone know where Ethan's got to?

Most recent CD purchases? I went and spent more money than I should to inaugurate Leeds, and since they're not all rock and metal, in here they go;
Ben Harper and the Innocent Criminals - Live From Mars - spurred on by the Like a King/I'll Rise finale, and the fact that it was on sale. Very good album.

Miles Davis - Birth of the Cool - also very good. He hasn't disappointed me yet (in all of my two purchases).

Big Black - Songs About Fucking - I've had about half of this downloaded for years, and I finally got around to getting it in physical form. Great album, and The Power of Independent Trucking is actually one of my favourite songs.

Darkthrone - Transilvanian Hunger - okay, slightly less Alt/Indie material. Good, though.

Bjork - Medulla - well, I liked Vespertine, and this sounded interesting. It has it's moments, definately, and sometimes it's really good. Not amazing though. I don't regret buying it, it's still something I want to have, I just wish I'd waited to find it in a bargain bin or something.

The Great Library of Alexandria being burnt down vs The Holocaust. Which is the greater loss to humanity?

Has anyone else played Fallout/Fallout 2 yet?

Should a coconut ever taste like cheese? Bad cheese, at that.

Bartender 10-01-2004 05:50 PM

University's okay. Two really cool flatmates, which is nice, and I have little in the way of actual lectures and things, though the lack of an internet connection is annoying. Also, everywhere in Leeds seems to be uphill from where I'm living.

The 99p CD was Hangnail - Clouds in the Head. It wasn't just a random buy either, I'd actually been vaguely interested in it for a while beforehand.

RavenousMetalist87 10-01-2004 06:05 PM

Welcome back, Bartender

Glad to see you back on the fourms :chug:

Bartender 10-01-2004 07:06 PM

If this were the pit I would be a jackass and say let the jews burn. But in the end the loss of so many lives was much more of a loss then some books.

nope
