Jr. co-wrote plenty of songs, and was there from day one. IMO he was the glue that held everything together. i've read many articles saying that he was always the peacekeeper, much like kirk in metallica. Jr. is an excellent bass player and i would love to see him back in the band at some point. i know i would sleep better.
Since Dave had 100% creative control on TSHF, I don't think they needed a peacekeeper.
Hands up who thinks Nick Menza is the best metal drummer! *Raises hand*
He's good, but Cryptopsy's drummer almost single handedly makes their music great as opposed to average... and um... Portnoy, and Nile and Morbid Angel's drummers. |

Don't forget the drummer from Lykathea Aflame. His drumming is mind boggling. |

Pretty much every death metal drummer > Menza actually... |
That's kind of unfair. The drummers in death metal do different things then Menza, and vice versa. Yeah, death metal drummers can do things Menza can't, but I'm sure it can go both ways. It's like going up to someone and going "Ozzy is good and all, but there's this guy at the Opera that will blow him away". They simply just do different things.
Poland sued Dave? For what? Dave seems to have forgiven Poland for stealing his gear back in the 80s...
It was not actually Poland......it was his management that sued Dave first. I don't think Chris would do such a thing. The reason was that Dave released new Rust In Peace with 4 additional demos with Chris' solos which were recorded in 1990 before they invited Marty. And I'm going to buy it as a Chris Poland freak. |
why not just find someone on soulseek with the remaster? Saves you from buying and album you presumably already have.
|
do we want another album if it's gonna be poor?
TSHF was such a good album do we want another risk or TWNAH? |
Well, I don't have Rust In Peace so I will already buy the one with bonus tracks. ha ha
Besides, I love collecting CDs. This desease began a few years ago when I went to friend's house and saw his older brothers CD collection. Can you imagine a whole library of CDs??? It was like he had a huge record store at home. Everything from Roxette and T-Rex to Motorhead and Manowar. It was fantastic ! |
train of consequences is a killer tune!!!
do we want another album if it's gonna be poor?
I'm pretty sure Dave wrote two albums worth of material, and released TSHF, so another album would probably be in the same style. |
Your attitude should be more like "**** yeah! Another album!"
If you don't like the new album, it's not like all the other ones get worse, there still there and just as good. |
I'd rather not adopt the Metallica fan's self consolation method though :p

Hi guys,
My sister is going to Bali tommorrow, and CD's are really cheap over there. Im thinking of gettin some 'Deth albums seeing im quite into them. Can you recommend two or three that i should own. I alredy own Rust in Peace. Thanks |

It's not a method, it's a fact. Right now, when you're listening to Megadeth albums you have the ones you like and you love them. If Megadeth makes a bad album, you'll still be in the same situation. You still have those albums, and you still love them. Besides, I don't see why Mustaine would change it around after TSHF got good reviews and such. After you make some bad ones, and then make a good one, I think you realize what made them bad or good. |
I agree, although I doubt Metallica will come back with a good album.
|
I agree, although I doubt Metallica will come back with a good album.
I haven't said the word Metallica yet in this convorsation before now, no one was talking about that. Unnecissary-ness  |
I know you haven't, I'm just saying, Metallica have made some bad albums, and some great albums (like Megadeth has), but I still doubt they'll be able to come back. Sorry if it came across in a bad way.
|
I didn't notice if anyone said anything, but have you all watched the new video? Of Mice and Men?
|
ooh i have that video.
Hey, if you really have that Italy '92 video can you do me favour?? I'm downloading it and I reached the 4th song - Lucretia. Can you write here the whole set list after that?? Or in case there are some you don't know names of, just write those you know. Thanks :thumb: |
I know the last song they play is a Peace Sells/Wake Up Dead medley. Before Lucretia they play Holy Wars, Hangar 18, and Skin O My Teeth right? So... after Lucretia they play Sweating Bullets and In My Darkest Hour, I don't remember the order though, and they might've played Symphony, don't remember.
And the Of Mice And Men video is pretty cool, way better than DDE's video. |
DDE is one of the crappiest videos ever,
And yeah, I lent my friends TSHF today, it's good I think... |
I d/loaded Of Mice And Men off Deth's official site, but I've only been able to see it once, cuz ever since I first watched it, when I click on it to open, it freezes up my computer
|
The DDE video is almost as bad as the videos that just show the band playing, with nothing else going on.
|
Yeah, I just watched it to see how bad it was. I didn't finish it. It seemed to lame, and like it wasn't going to stop being lame any time soon.
|
I was fine with the Die Dead Enough video, but then again, I don't really like music video's so, you get the idea. I'd rather watch a band live than watch a music video.
|
That video was horrible, in my opinion.
They could have made it cool, but it is extremely lame. |
I'd rather watch a band live than watch a music video.
Ya. I love Iron Maiden's older videos cause most of them are just them playing live. |

^me too, to clairvoyant
|
So Very true its sad :upset:

IMHO roughly 90% of metal music videos are unadulterated idiocy (not that non-metal music videos are any better). Iron Maiden had a few good videos, and personally I love Metallica's video for 'One' but mostly live footage easily surpasses any stylized music video.
|

Also I thought that the album dave has already written was to be a solo album? |
It was, but he could use it as a Megadeth album if he wants to continue the band.
|

nice... I want more megadeth! |
The guitarist in Megadeth said the fans will freak after they find out who they're touring with this summer.
Hmmm... |

I agree here. I've never seen any metal videos that I liked (tastes!) except Metallica's vids. Their best is Until It Sleeps and recent videos were also very good. However, I have to disagree with Maiden vids. I love the band but all their videos with appearance of Eddy are horrible. Run To The Hills being the worst. Yes it was 80's but they could have made something better. Or what's about that dancers in Number Of The Beast??? Their best is IMO Rainmaker ! To MathiaS ----------- Thanks a lot about the Italy 92 video :thumb: Oh, nothing from Killing Is My Business :upset: |
I thought the video for 'Of Mice And Men' was pretty cool.
