I'm not sure where they would get that from though.

Could be he doesn't like the fact that Paul isn't...hmm...audible?

DemonicRubberDucky 08-30-2005 06:25 PM

I dunno if anyone knows, but here's a good Slipknot (and nu-metal, for that matter...) site.

Tillius 08-30-2005 07:08 PM

http://www.metabolic666.com is another good site.

Sleeper 08-30-2005 07:15 PM

I used to go to Black Goat fansite, that was a really good one.
Hey people, im not a big Slipknot listener by any means, i have seen them live though and they put on one hell of a show. I wanted to ask people with much more opinion on the matter than myself, how do you guys feel about Slipknots new material, because i listened to a couple of their new tracks 'duality' and 'before i forget' and althought i don't really mind them, it just seems very different from their earlier stuff, theres more melody, yet... less depth, what do you think ?
It was meh. I liked Duality, Before I Forget (the song, I hated the video), The Blister Exists, and Three Nil, but I seriously disliked Cirlce, Vermillion, and Virmillion Part Two.

Down'd Angel 09-01-2005 10:03 AM

another good site is... www.mfkr1.com...

great forum on there...

deathscreamingsheep 09-01-2005 10:30 AM

In the Blister Exists and a couple of other songs show that Mick isn't bad at guitar. Also in Total Guitar they have done a lot of great shredding and playing exercises so my question is: if they have so much talent why the hell don't they ever do any technical playing at all? (I haven't heard Subliminal Verses fully though and I hear they do some sweep picking and other things in that?)

Phobophile 09-01-2005 01:01 PM

This is true. They def have chops, they just choose to not use them as they don't more times then not fit into the music. To really hear them shred listen to MFKR.

relliK 09-01-2005 01:06 PM

Mick and Jim are not on MFKR.

Down'd Angel 09-04-2005 11:12 AM

^ right...they had donnie and josh on guitar...

tomtom 09-05-2005 12:59 AM

YEAH, slipknots starting the Final Chapter tour in november, i'm not sure, i'll check it for ya's. pity they aren't coming to aus, oh well, next album lol.

virgil_fan 09-05-2005 02:51 AM

The slipknot drummer is pretty awesome. hes got some great chops, especially with the double bass drum (its a pity he can only do single strokes though, RLRLRLRL). The guitarists are pretty awesome too (im not a guitarist but they sound great). Overall i reckon slipknot are a great band.

Down'd Angel 09-05-2005 01:21 PM
Dude, chill out. It's not that big of a deal.
i believe he was being sarcastic...you dont have to take it to heart of what he says...
and after all, he is the drummer guy
he is the drummer...but there are two percussionists...so technically he is not the only "drummer guy"...

exup 09-10-2005 08:47 AM

details, details

Thor 09-10-2005 09:04 AM

Can we start a real conversation now? This is getting pretty stupid.

Down'd Angel 09-11-2005 10:57 PM

hmm...it never seems like people can ever have a decent convo on here...

yet when people say they want to...they never do...

Huber 09-11-2005 11:08 PM

Joey played the drums on The Murderdoll's album right? If so I think that was some of his best work.

And just to get this out of the way:

I know he plays guitar for the band! However, I believe on the album he played drums because they lacked a drummer at the time.

Down'd Angel 09-12-2005 07:47 AM

i think you are right...i heard that before...i knew he wrote all the material for it...but i am not sure if the recordings are him...

exup 09-12-2005 07:49 AM

i never heard it, should i ?

// i mean , is it worth listening?

Huber 09-12-2005 07:50 AM
i never heard it, should i ?

Neither of you.

Deathcrush 09-12-2005 10:22 AM

Well, technically they fall under a sub-genre of 'metal'.

andyhainey 09-12-2005 10:25 AM
Slipknot is grindcore?

What the fuck are you smoking?
